Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

During the autumn term 2022, the children enjoyed celebrating various religious festivals along with festive craft activities and a Christmas party. The children took part in a Christmas production which included songs that the children had been learning. As this was the first production after the pandemic, it was very much enjoyed by all the children, families and staff.

The topic for the spring term 2023 was ‘shapes and colours’ looking at shapes in the environment and mixing and blending colours together. The spring term also included celebrating pancake day and taking part in an Easter bunny hunt.

During the summer term 2023, the topic was ‘new life’. The children enjoyed watching the cycle of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. The butterflies were then released at the Pre-school’s 60[th] anniversary party which also included games, bouncy castle, entertainer and music. There was also an extremely enjoyable sports day which rounded off the year and was attended by the parents/carers, It was obvious that everyone very much enjoyed these occasions.

During the whole year, whenever possible, the children benefitted from the garden space and the outside veranda area. The staff were creative in providing sports and physical activity sessions.

Towards the end of the year, one member of staff left, however through successful recruitment a new member of staff was recruited to start in September 2023. All the staff were involved in staff development and completed the relevant training with the LEA.

The website continued to be updated and parents also received regular emails to keep them up to date with events, news and general information.

There was some significant investment during the year with the preschool purchasing some new equipment for example; renewing the Clevertouch screen in the main hall and replacing some of the garden equipment. Refurbishment also took place of some areas in the main hall.

The pre-school has had a successful year and all the staff are to be commended on their enthusiasm, hard work and commitment.
