Section D Achievements and performance Due to COVID-19 there was still some disruption for the whole of the **Summary of the main** 2021-22 year. The staff and committee followed the appropriate **achievements of the charity** government COVID-19 guidance during the year. Virtual visits remained **during the year** in place for prospective families for the whole of the year and external visitors to the pre-school were limited. Despite the virtual visits, parents continued to register their children to start at the pre-school during the year ahead. During the autumn term 2021, the children enjoyed celebrating various religious festivals along with festive craft activities and a Christmas party, which included a visit from Father Christmas. The topic for the term was ‘autumn’ and the children learnt about the season through relevant activities. The topic for the spring term 2022 was ‘using the alphabet’ where, for example, the children, explored finding things that began with specific letters. The spring term also included celebrating pancake day, taking part in food tasting and an Easter bunny hunt. During the summer term 2022, the topic was ‘new life’ and one of the highlights was seeing the children taking part in the planting project in the garden space. There was also an extremely enjoyable sports day which rounded off the year and was attended by the parents/carers, It was obvious that everyone very much enjoyed being back together for this occasion. During the whole year, whenever possible, the children benefitted from the garden space and the outside veranda area. The staff were creative in providing sports and physical activity sessions, when possible, Towards the end of the year, one member of staff left, however through successful recruitment a new member of staff was recruited to start in September 2022. All the staff were involved in staff development and completed the relevant training with the LEA. The website continued to be updated and parents also received regular emails to keep them up to date with events, news and general information. The staff worked extremely hard during the year which still presented many challenges due to COVID-19, and they are to be commended for their commitment and resilience. **Section E Financial review** The charity has approx. one year of running costs in reserves which the **Brief statement of the** trustees believe is appropriate. **charity’s policy on reserves Details of any funds materially in deficit**
