OUR PROFILE
**----- End of picture text -----**
Established in 2014, Missio Africanus is a learning community dedicated to unleashing the missional capabilities of African and other non-Western Christians residing in Britain. Our mission is to enable the UK church to receive and leverage the talents of the

diaspora Christian community, while empowering them to effectively disciple their second generation and extend their reach beyond their own communities. To achieve this, we bring together British and non-Western church leaders to engage in mutual learning, enriching the broader church community.

Our organisation was founded in Birmingham with the assistance of the late Reverend Gabriel Diya, a Nigerian RCCG pastor in Charlton. Over the years, we have united a diverse group of mission leaders, representing various denominations, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and theological perspectives, to envision how we can participate in God's mission in the contemporary world.

## **MA IN THEOLOGY, MINISTRY AND MISSION (AFRICAN CHRISTIANITY)**

In partnership with CMS Oxford, we launched this program in 2021 to assist the church in filling the knowledge gap that many Christians have about the African church and its influence on faith, particularly in the UK and the Western world. The programme is now in its third year, with an Undergraduate Certificate route set to commence in September 2024.

## **MISSIO AFRICANUS PUBLISHING**

We are helping upcoming academics making significant contributions in the field of African Christianity get their work published. This provides affordable, high-quality, and scholarly publications to serve the church in Africa and the Diaspora.

## **CONFERENCES**

These events are held periodically to discuss matters related to unleashing the missional capacity of African and non-Western Christians residing in Britain. These are organised around various themes of relevance to African Christianity and missio Dei.

## **DIASPORA MINISTRY HUBS**

We are establishing three Diaspora Hubs (in London, Manchester, and Leeds/Bradford) where diaspora leaders can gather to connect with others who share similar challenges in their lives and ministries.

## **MISSIO AFRICANUS PUBLISHING Wash and Pray: African Theological Discourse on COVID-19**

_In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Africa faced a unique set of challenges that sparked a profound spiritual response among its people. Wash and Pray: African Theological Discourse on COVID-19 delves into the heart of this response, exploring the intersections of faith, culture, history, and the pandemic that gripped the world from 2019 to 2022. The book demonstrates that for many_

_Africans, the pandemic was not just a medical crisis but also a spiritual battle. As such, the book_

_invites the reader to witness the historicising of the pandemic in Africa through this landmark resource for current and future generations, ensuring that the narratives of African Christianity in_

_the face of COVID-19 and other pandemics are not lost. The chapter contributions offer diverse perspectives from Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, and the UK, each contextualising the African Christian response to the pandemic. In essence, this monograph paints a rich tapestry of African theological discourse during a global crisis, ultimately affirming that faith and science, when harmonised, can lead to a resilient and thriving community._
