Charitable Objecves:

The charity aims to support refugees and asylum seekers in West Berkshire.

Principal Acvies

The charity employs a part-me caseworker who is supported by a team of 18 volunteers. The team deliver support in the areas of housing, employment and informaon on finances, also help in other areas where there is a need to interact with local organisaons such as arranging school places and accessing medical and dental care.

Over 30 individuals and some 40 families have been supported in this year – a total of over 200 people.

employment and to understand how benefits will support those on low pay. In addion, the caseworker supports asylum seekers who are awaing a decision on their case from the Home Office. Both groups need help in accessing medical care, dental treatment and support with issues in their accommodaon. The caseworker, supported by 2 to 4 volunteers, runs a drop-in session once a week for those who need support. Regular English classes and ad hoc 121 English classes are offered by volunteers.

Collecons and fundraising enable the charity to provide refugees and asylum seekers with basic items such as clothing, household essenals and hygiene products.

Financial review ( Reserves Held & reserves policy)

September 2024. However, the process of recruing a caseworker took me. Employing a part-me member of staff has created an ongoing need to fundraise for salary costs. This challenge is priorised by the charity. We currently have sufficient funds to pay the

caseworker unl April 2027 and are acvely fundraising to pay the salary costs to November 2027.

Outside of the salary costs for the caseworker the charity has very low costs as there is a strong team of volunteers and good support for calls for donaons locally.

The charity holds just over £6,000 in unrestricted reserves which is ample to cover the very low running costs for several years.

Plans for Next Financial Year to September 2026

The charity plans to connue delivering support via the caseworker and will fundraise to ensure that this is possible.
