**Objects:** THE UNION'S OBJECTS ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DERBY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY:PROMOTING THE INTERESTS AND WELFARE OF STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DERBY DURING THEIR COURSE OF STUDY AND REPRESENTING, SUPPORTING AND ADVISING STUDENTS;BEING THE RECOGNISED REPRESENTATIVE CHANNEL BETWEEN STUDENTS AND THE UNIVERSITY OF DERBY AND ANY OTHER EXTERNAL BODIES; ANDPROVIDING SOCIAL, CULTURAL, SPORTING AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND FORUMS FOR DISCUSSIONS AND DEBATE FOR THE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ITS STUDENTS.ENDEAVOURING TO ENSURE THAT NO STUDENT IS DISADVANTAGED OR RECEIVES LESS FAVOURABLE TREATMENT

**Activities:** The Union of Students is responsible for the Programme and College Representative structures which support the advancement of education for students of the University of Derby in ensuring academic quality and development is maintained. The Union provides access to sports, society and volunteering activities for students and a confidential and independent Advice service.
