continued
to give their|| ||||||tithes and offerings to support the ongoing|| ||||||work ofthe church
Obviously,
our normal|| ||||||weekly church activities were suspended.|| ||||||The Pastor continued to be in contact with|| ||||||the members
by phone and also resumed|a| ||||||regular
newsletter
for people who did not|| ||||||have the technology
to receive the|| ||||||messages
that he was producing
weekly|in| ||||||the form of Facebook wdeos.|| ||||||These wdeos were greatly appreciated,
not|| ||||||only by church members,
but also the wider|| ||||||general
public, most of which were none|| ||||||church goers, however,
the Pastor and|| ||||||church were very pleased to have many|| ||||||encouraging
responses
every week from|| ||||||people who were being helped to cope with|| ||||||and get through
the pandemic.
One lady,|| ||||||(who was the Chair ofGovernors
at the local|| ||||||rima
school
that the Pastor met in|| |passing
said, "I'm not a particularly
religious| |---| |person
but
Ijust wanted
you to know that| |your posts helped get me through
lockdown',| |this was a great encouragement
both to the| |Pastor and the church.| |Once again planned
visits by Kirkby Avenue| |primary
school for Harvest
and Christmas| |had to be cancelled due to the second| |lockdown.| |Itwas so good to reopen
on Easter Sunday| |4~April 2021,a kind ofresurrection
day for| |the church.
In October we had our Harvest| |Thanksgiwng
Service, and we donated
an| |offering ofjust over E200to Samantan's| |Purse's
Livelihoods
Project where they work| |with families engaged
in subsistence
farming| |who often live in chronic poverty and| |malnutrition,
and who lack the skills to get| |the most out oftheir small patches of land.| |Others have seen their livelihoods
wiped out| |by drought,
disaster, or war. Through
their| |Animals,
Agriculture,
and Livelihoods| |programmes,
Samaritan's
Purse have| |helped to provide thousands
of impoverished| |farmers,
herders,
