## **FOR YEAR END 5 APRIL 2022** 

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the accounts and comply with Changing Lives Forever governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice, "Accounting and Reporting by Charities", issued in March 2005. 

## **Structure, governance and management** 

Changing Lives Forever was established by a charitable trust deed on 16th September 2016. 

The trustees who served during the year, as listed by the charity commission, were: 

- Mr Philip McKinley 

Details of method of recruitment and appointment of trustees consists of appointing those with an interest in contributing towards  the running and setting up of the charity. 

Details of the organisational structure consists of 1 trustees and 1 chairperson and one administrator. 

The trustees assessed the major risks to which Changing Lives Forever is exposed and are satisfied those systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. 

## **Objectives and activities** 

Changing Lives Forever's objectives are for the benefit of people living or working in the Luton and surrounding areas: 

- 1 - 



- (1) The  relief  of  financial  hardship  by  providing  persons  with  food  and household items they could not otherwise afford through lack of means. 

- (2) The  advancement  of  education  by  providing  community  education centres, libraries and facilities and equipment for schools and colleges. 

- (3) To advance in life and help children and young people by: Providing support and services which develop their skills, capacities, and capabilities  to  enable  them  to  participate  in  society  as  mature  and 

- responsible individuals. 

- (4) To provide a community transport service for such inhabitants of Luton, and the surrounding area who need such a service because of age, sickness or disability  (mental or physical)  or poverty or a lack of availability of adequate and safe public transport services. 

Policies are to be adopted in furtherance of these objectives and there has been no change in these during the year. 

Changing Lives Forever trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity’s Commission in deciding what activities Changing Lives Forever should undertake. 

Changing Lives Forever (CLF) has been operating a soup kitchen in Luton Town Centre, feeding the homeless. They open every Tuesday and Thursday from 18:00 to 19:00.  CLF food bank started on the 17/11/2016 from a trailer in the town centre every Thursday evening from 18:00 to 19:00..

## **FOR THE YEAR END 5 APRIL 2022** 

## **Achievements and performance** 

This financial year the soup kitchen served over 10,000 hot meals, twice a week CLF food bank provides food to the local community, low income families and the homeless seven days a week. 

## **Financial review** 

Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation.

## **REPORT TO THE ON THE PREPARATION OF THE UNAUDITED ACCOUNTS OF CHANGING LIVES FOREVER YEAR END 5 APRIL 2021** 

In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Charities Act 2011, we have prepared for your approval the accounts of Changing Lives Forever for the year end 5 April 2021, set out on pages 4 to 6 from the charity's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us. 

Our  work  has  been  undertaken  solely  to  prepare  for  your  approval,  the accounts of Changing Lives Forever and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the charity's, as a body. To the fullest extent permitted by law,  we  do  not  accept  or  assume  responsibility  to  anyone  other  than Changing Lives Forever and the charity as a body, for our work or for this report. 

It is our duty to ensure that the charity has kept adequate accounting records and to prepare accounts that give a true and fair view under the Charities Act 2011.  You  consider  that  the  charity  is  exempt  from  the  statutory  audit requirement  for  the  year  and  is  not  required  to  obtain  an  independent examiner's report. 

We have not been instructed to carry out an audit or a review of the accounts. For this reason, we have not verified the accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not, therefore, express any opinion on the accounts.

## **1 Accounting policies** 

## **1.1 Basis of preparation** 

The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention. 

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards,  the  Statement  of  Recommended  Practice,  "Accounting  and Reporting by Charities", issued in March 2005 and the Charities Act 2011.
