A number of Emley Brass Band volunteers provide on-going teaching and training to other members of the band to aid and improve their musical skills and knowledge. Para 1.38 Contribulion made by volunteers Volunteers also provide supporting notes I commentary on the music being performed by the band to enhan music performance and public knowledge. Volunteers from the band also staff our main fundraising event, the Emley Real Ale Festival. Other Achievements and Performance SORP roferan The band gave a number of performances throughout the year at various types of events, organised by both the band and third parties, to large public audiences. This includes events with a long-running history in the community such as Emley Show, annual Remembrance events in Clayton West, Emley, and Cleckheaton, and the annual carol service at st Michael's Church, Emley. The band continues to be in high demand for events throughout the year, especially in the Christmas period. Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. Our main fundraising event, Emley Real Ale Festival, was extremely successful and well- attended throughout the weekend, building the band's connection with the local community and contributing to our financial reserves. Financial Review Review of the charity's financial position at the end of the period Para 1.21 The charity maintains a reasonably healthy financial position. despite experiencing a significant loss of £5800 over the period covered, which was primarily incurred due to . £7000 of unavoidable maintenance costs to our bandroom, which saw costs rise by c. £5000 com ared to the revious ear. Emley Brass Band has some obligations as a result of, for example, owning the band room, which would need to be covered if it was wound up.
