Trustees Report for year 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024

This last year has been as equally challenging a time as the previous year. We have lost a couple of members and failed to recruit any new members, even though we have extensively pursued all form of advertising.

Our core members have performed extremely well and we have gained further respect from the local community. We have completed many requested items from our community, such as garden planters, recycle box storage units and hedgehog boxes. We have also completed some bespoke items such as a trophy cabinet for the town silver band and a couple of cold frames for a local allotment charity.

We have struggled this year to gain more funds to continue our activities, the grants and donations have been very sparse this year, it is mainly our sales of products that have kept us going.

Our new garden project has done extremely well, despite not having a dedicated garden expert. Our new greenhouse and polytunnel has produced sufficient vegetables to be able to sell a few at our local market. We will try to increase this next year although we would need another couple of gardeners to do this.
