Trustees’ Report

The Trustees, who are also Directors of the company for Companies Act purposes, present their report for the year ended 30 September 2025.

Objectives and Activities

The objects of the company are:

1. To relieve persons, particularly (though not exclusively) orphans, street children, slumdwellers, and refugees, who are in conditions of need or hardship or who are sick or homeless and to relieve the distress caused by such conditions in India (particularly in Mumbai) and in such other parts of the world as the trustees may from time-to-time think fit.

2. To promote the education (including social and physical training) of children, women and other disadvantaged and/or marginalised persons in India in such ways as the charity trustees think fit, and in such other parts of the world as the trustees may from time to time think fit.

3. The relief of sickness and the preservation of health among children, women and other underprivileged and/or marginalised persons in India, and in such other parts of the world as the trustees may from time to time think fit through the provision of mobile medical units, medical centres and establishments including the provision of equipment, facilities, and services.

Achievements and Performance

1. PRIMARY FOCUS - EDUCATIONAL SERVICES – Child

Engaging and sustaining children in education has the power to prevent exploitation and create intergenerational transformation. Our Community Intervention Programme (CIP) emphasizes on identifying the needy children and supporting them in the school admission process (Govt/Private) as per the choice of the family. If the child fails to qualify the admission process or has been dropout for various other factors, then he/she is enrolled and equipped in Beacon Learning Center.

Beacon Learning Center has three main streams of coaching:

• Pre-Primary (Formal Education)

• Primary (Formal Education)

• Bridging Program on Bus (Non-Formal Education) focused on street children

ACHIEVEMENTS (EDUCATION)

• a. Enrolment at Beacon Pre-Primary has been consistent giving opportunities to the neediest children from 4 different communities in Mumbai, with 1194 children enrolled between June 2024 and March 2025, and 1271 children from April 2025 to September 2025.

• b. Beacon Primary witnessed steady enrolment across Grade 1 to Grade 3 between June 2024 and September 2025, with 151 children enrolled from June 2024 to March 2025, and another 122 children joining from April to September 2025.

• c. From October 2024 through September 2025, 854, children took their first steps into Formal Education, reflecting strong community engagement. Beacon’s sustained efforts over the years have resulted in the enrolment of 7,106 children into formal schooling, including those added in the 2024–25 period.

• d. Between October 2024 to March 2025 different programs were conducted by the Education team, as follows:

• 918 BLC children participated in the World Food Day Program

• 852 BLC children participated in the Sports Day activity.

• Physical Safety Education was conducted for 889 BLC children.

• 899 BLC parents participated in the Child Education and Mental Health Awareness program.

• 840 children participated in the Aspiration Day program.

• 1666 BLC children and parents participated in the Science Exhibition Day.

• e. Between April 2025 to September 2025 different programs were carried out for BLC children and parents:

• 957 BLC children participated in the Independence Day Program.

• 1516 BLC children and parents participated in International Literacy Day.

• 907 children participated in the Physical Safety Education program.

• 760 BLC children participated in the World Environment Day.

2. SUPPORT SERVICES – Family & Community

Extended through Vision Rescue Community Service Centres (CSC) by team of Community Manager and Community Workers, all qualified social workers:

• Support facilities provided for MEDICAL/DENTAL/DRUG

ADDICT/COUNSELLING – Career & Family

• VOCATIONAL TRAINING – Tailoring Course, Mehendi Course, Beautician Capsule Course, Making Paper Bags and Bracelets, etc.

• SPORTS – Football, Cricket Coaching

• Self Defense – Martial Art / Judo Coaching

• Empower THE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS AS CHAMPIONS

• Networking and Liaoning to be done with GO, NGO, Corporates, Trusts and other organizations.

ACHIEVEMENTS (Support Services)

• a) A total of 17,132 individuals were reached in the year 2024-2025, through dental, medical, and mental health awareness campaigns across target communities.

• b) 21 Health and Dental Camps were conducted reaching 2295 individuals. Apart from this, there were different activities were conducted by the health and dental team for children as follows:

• 971 BLC students received health screening

• 1042 BLC students underwent health assessment (BMI checking)

• 54 VR Sports underwent health assessment (BMI checking)

• 4801 SSP students received dental checkup

• 1075 BLC students received dental check up

• 204 students from children’s homes received dental checkup (66: Bhiwandi Children’s Home, 138: Dongri Remand Home)

• 1090 BLC students underwent health assessment (BMI checking)

• 1160 BLC students received dental check up

• 43 VR Sports students received dental check up

• c) 413 women received vocational training in employable skills to support economic self-sufficiency. National and international markets were explored to generate sustainable livelihoods for trained women.

• d) Uniforms for Beacon Learning Centre children for the upcoming academic year are being stitched by the mothers and sisters of the community - building local ownership and pride.

• e) 79 active community champions conducted regular sessions across locations, fostering local leadership.

• f) Customized training sessions or the champions were held periodically to build their capacity based on evolving community needs.

• g) VR Sports Club participated in 7 football matches and 4 cricket matches at the district level, featuring 22 children, some of whom were highlighted in professional leagues.

• h) School Support Program successfully trained over 911 students across local municipal schools in Self Defense - strengthening confidence and personal safety.

• i) 158 women were provided employment through the Income Generation program in our 4 communities.

Report to the trustees

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/09/2025. Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited for this year under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your Charity’s accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (‘’the 2011 Act’’). In carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

• the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

• the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
