COME AND SEE MINISTRIES Charity Number 1169051 Trustees’ Annual Report For the Year ended 31 December 2024

Administrative Information:

Come and See Ministries is situated in The New Barnet, Hertfordshire. It is part of the Universal, historic and mystical Body of Christ known as the Church. The correspondence address is 6 Westbrook Square, Barnet EN4 9AX.

Come and See Ministries is a charity registered with the Charity Commission, UK.

Trustees who served during the year:

Incumbent: Izuwa John Anyanwu – Chairman Pastor Roseline Anyanwu

Mrs Benerdette Adebayo Mr Izuwa John Anyanwu Mrs Alaneme Elizabeth Ogugua Mrs Elizabeth Joseph Mr Patrick Obiegbunam

Structure, governance and management

The method of admission of Church members is set out in the Ministries Constitution.

Objectives and Activities

Come and See Ministries members have the responsibility of co-operating with the incumbent, Pastor Roseline, in promoting the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical.

Achievements and Performance

There are 127 members on the church roll, 47 of whom are not resident within the borough. The church services continue to take place every Sunday. We remain hopeful that membership will increase in the future, despite the wider economic challenges that have also affected levels of giving and charitable support.

Review of the year

The Ministry did not go on mission during the accounting period to December 2024.

Church services were held on Sundays in a rented hall at 97 East Barnet Road, while Wednesday bible studies, Friday prayers and night vigils were held via Zoom.

The School of Ministry took place every Thursday via zoom, providing teaching and preparation for those aspiring to be ordained ministers.

It should be noted that in line with national trends, the challenging economic climate has led to a reduction in overall donations received during the year. This decrease in income has required the church to exercise greater financial prudence and prioritise essential activities, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to sustain core ministry functions. We remain committed to serving our members and the community.

Financial Review

Come and See Ministries' balance includes £188,112 retained in restricted funds account as part of the building funds for the church as agreed by the trustees. The bank balance at 31st December 2024 was £386,946 (2023: £334,518). Funds are closely monitored by the trustees.

Reserves Policy

It is our policy to maintain a balance on unrestricted funds, which equates to approximately six months unrestricted payments, to cover emergency situations that may arise from time to time. The balance of £198,833 held as unrestricted funds at the year end should be sufficient to cope with immediate demand.

Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the church and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the guidelines of the Charity Commissions of United Kingdom. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the charitable company’s website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.
