COME AND SEE MINISTRIES Charity Number 1169051 Trustees’ Annual Report For the Year ended 31 December 2020 (continued)
Financial Review
Come and See Ministries' balance includes £58,234 retained in restricted funds account as part of the building funds for the church as agreed by the trustees. The decrease in offerings and donations as reported in the financial statements is commensurate with the decrease in membership as a result of covid-19 and the pandemic. The bank balance at 31st December 2020 was £170,060 (2019: £125,246). The trustees decided to close the Nationwide account in the year for more effective management. Management and controls of these funds are closely monitored by the trustees.
Reserves Policy
It is our policy to maintain a balance on unrestricted funds, which equates to approximately six months unrestricted payments, to cover emergency situations that may arise from time to time. The balance of £111,826 held as unrestricted funds at the year end should be sufficient to cope with immediate demand.
Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the church and to enable them to ensure that
the financial statements comply with the guidelines of the Charity Commissions of United Kingdom. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the charitable company’s website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.
