Throughout 2025 Team Kenya tn￿tee5 continued to ensure Ihat all charitable activities
undertaken follow Charity ComrnissKKt guwjance on public benefiL Our small staff team, board
of trustees and key vdunteers continued to make an invaluable contribution to the day-l￿daY
management rnnning of the organE￿tTh.
In 2025 several trustees stepF*d away from the ￿ganIsat￿)n as the￿ tenns of Offi￿ came to
an end or as new OP[￿rtUni￿.eS arose. the year ended. Ihe board welcomed bad( Jacky
Quincey as a trustee. For the last few year5. Jacky has been supporting Twende Pamoja staff
and her input has been integral in developing their knowledge and skills. In addl￿n Pratthana
(Tanal Hunt. a long lemi supporter of the charity. jotned the board. Tana is a business and
finan￿ professional with over 15 years. experien￿ in both publ￿ and private sectors. She is
currently Director of the Health and Menlal Health wrt[ol￿ at the Deparbnenl of Treasury in
Western Australia. workiNJ across govemment to shaFe Fdicy and sustainable ftjnding for
essential sefvices. PassKsnate about intemab'onal devek)pmentand gender equality, Tana first
connected with Team Kenya in 2014 bthile volunteering in Ndhwa. Since then. she has
supported Twende Pamoja's financial p)licy development and b8came a trustee in March
2025. The board also Y￿1¢Omed Sharon Wambete as a trustee. Sharon is an Environment and
Development professional wilh a strong pass￿ for I￿lIding meaningful partnerships that
Centre communty vol￿S and drive sustainable charNJe. She brings over seven years of
experience from the global accounting (Kganisation KPMG, where she championed social
impact through strategic corporate swal investment initiatives. Sharon is deeply committed lo

Team Kenya is run ty several trustees wrth an operational role supported by a group of
ded￿ated volunteers with occasional consultary suppcfft as required. The charity was sel up
to work ak)ngside Ndhiwa Community Empowem￿nI and Development Project and we co-
realed a Theory of Change focused on educating girls and emwering vx)men Ihrough
enterpnse actlvities. Our partner organisati)n (rwy* knovm as Twende Pamoja. or TPI, is an
NGO registered in Kenya. which shares our airrts and obpcbves but is also abbe to ini18te and
develop ils own indeperwjent pro1￿ts. We are Separate and distinct organisal￿S - Team
Kenya provides the funding a￿1 Twende Pamoia delivers projects thich support the
development of just and equttable communitbes. focusing on education. entery)rise and
empowemient rdated aclivibes. The lo￿lS of our partnership work with Twende Pamoja in
2025 has continued lo be around sourcing of grant and other income for their projects in Kenya
and, as part of a bnger-lem transilM)n plan. supporting their own organisational development.
In 2025 Twende Pamoia began to look at how their Enterprise Programmes can be further
developed lo be￿me income generating and thereft)re support the Education Programmes -
one of ourjoint loNJ temi g￿lS is for TwerKle Pamoia to be self suslaining, thus reducing
the financk41 and other inputs from Team Kenya.
With supportfrom Team Kenya. Twende Parrnja works to serve the community OfNdh￿va Sub
County. Homa Bay. Our joint fO(￿S for Ihe last 18 years on this one (x)mmunty has enabled
the adoption of a plac&based. holistic. integrated approach to developmenL targeting the
entire community. Over this lime, several Team Kenya trustees have deveh)ped strong
relationships with both TP staff who live in Ndhiwa and the ¢x)mmunity itself. which is
char8Cterised by a set of complex, very speufic devthpment problems. This partnership has

an outstanding reputation across the County and beyond du8 to a combination of local
knowledge and expertise. our long-leryn consistent support for the area and commilment lo
ioinuy sUp￿rting participatory approaches to rural development. bas&1 on what works in the
local context. This approach conlinuesto be atx)ut sharing and. ultimately transferring decision
making and ac￿)Untabl1ty to those best suited lo trartsfomi the lives of the community In
Ndhiwa.
Over the last year Team Kenya trustees and vc4unteers have been w(xking ck)seTry wilh Ihe
Twende Pamoia Grants Team to gralualty transfer the de￿IOn￿kIng around grant
applicatsons to the Kenyan staff.
This new approach has brought SU(￿ess. for example with the Souter Trust. an award for
£15.000 over Iwo years far child Protecti￿ community engagement and extra-curricular
activities in schooLs. An award from the Brian Mercer Trust was the result of the same
collaborative appn)ach and brought in £16.81XJ per annum for 3 years for entrepreneurship
and eco-friendty farming training, dean C(￿1ng soluth)ns, stsff training and the development
of the Karibuni training srte and community-based model famis. The new approach has also
included reporting to funders, and the firstthand knowledge of the stsff in Ndhiwa ensures that
funders are receNin9 detailed and accurate inforrnat￿ a￿ul the projects they are supporting.

know that they appreciate the efforts the team have made.
Twende Pamoia will continue lo take lead more in 4ptying for their own grants w*thin
Kenya and in 2024 submitted a very strong appI￿allOn lo KCDF. (the Kenya Community
Development FoundatMM}. Although not sUc￿5SfUl. the apFAiration reached the final stage in
which Twende Pamoja staff travelled to Nair0￿. to give a presentation. Through taking Steps
like these, the leam is broadening its horizons. creating new OPFX)rtunit￿s and being soen as

developing "Forest Garden" proiects. FO￿St gardening is Climate-smart agrof0￿sty,
whid) integrates 8 wide range of crops including trees, shrubs. vegetables and fruit
with sustainable prdcb'ces such 8$ crop rotation and composting. and is a sustainable
way forward for subsi%lence farniing families. makiThJ it very appropriale for the dimate
in Kenya.

At the end of 2025 Team Kenya had reserves of £152.32612024.. £123.3751 ofwhich £78,836
12024.. £69.0661 were reslricled for SF*ufic projects. Al the end of each frnancial year reserves
for individual projects are cak￿lated and carri&J fO￿ard.
In accordance with our Financial Reserves Polw, Team Kenya endeavours to hold in reserye
an amount deemed to be sufficient to support UK operational costs for a period of 3 months
and activities in Kenya for 3 months shoukl no other Sour￿ of funding be available. The
Iruslees are confident that the unrestricted reserves hekl at the end of the year are sufficient
to compFy with this policy. The amounts held in reserve are reviewed annually.

The Charity's four main sources of income are grants from tharitable Irusls and found81ions,
personal donations (regular and ad hoc). funds raised through corporate and education
