## **CHAIRMANS REPORT**

## **COMPILED BY THE VICE CHAIR DANNY ALLSEBROOK ON BEHALF OF DAVID GREEN.**

I want to welcome you all to this AGM and our second face to face meeting. It has been a strange year for all heritage groups across the country due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic. As such the events planed for the group had to be cancelled and a period of self-isolation for much of our membership took place and the chapel was closed. We also sent out a letter to all members that we were postponing all planned talks and events.

On a positive note, during this period, we did have a series of zoom meetings and talks and as of the being of 2021 we began online talks which featured:

Penny Rea on Mary Ann Rawson and the family at Wincobank (April)

Two talks by me (Danny Allsebrook)

Wincobank hill talk (May)

Conisbrough castle and its interpretation (June)

We then proceeded to have an open meeting in the chapel (July)

Regarding members other activities for this year, we have still been quite active as penny undertook a talk on Wincobank at the Sheffield library and has undertaken a litter pick as well as the currently running school clubs.

The Briganties Were also active online with me (Danny) giving a talk on the tribe and the history of the tribe and a few more video interactions for the members page including a walk on the hill. We were also invited to and even a Bough near Hull but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel. The briganties are currently out of action until further notice.

Both penny and I have also been working closely on the regeneration of the chapel house into a community hub and this is hopefully going to continue.

I (Danny) also met with a presenter from radio Sheffield to have an interview about wincobank hill as a place to visit during the holidays and this will be aired soon.

As for the future of both groups I feel that this is something to be discussed during any other business as we look to the future and how to move forward in this current situation.
