The accounts have been prepared to comply with the Statement of Recommended Prartlce for Accounting by Charities (Revised 2015). Constftutlonal and Legal framework Tadcaster Community Library is a Charltable Incorporated Orgznlsatlon Trustees and Management Responsibillty for the management of the business of Tadcaster Communlty Llbrary Is vested In the Management Commlttee, which includes the trustees of this charity. The following people were trustees during the year and at the date this report was approved: Michael Clark Sara Gott Alison Wadsworth Terence Welsh George Keech- reslgned January 2024 Appointment ond induction of trustees New trustees are appointed by the continuing trustees. There are established procedures for the Induction of each trustee to ensure that they are aware of the responsibilities of a trustee and the ways of working Within the charlty. Alm5 and ObSectlves The objects of the CIO are {1) To advance the education of the 8eneral public in Tadcaster and the surrounding area, in particular but not exclusively by supporting the provision of a lending library; 2) To further or benefit the residents of Tadcaster and the neighbourhood, wlthout distinction of sex. sexual orientatlon, race or of polltical, reli8ious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorlties, voluntary and other organlsations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents., Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes, which are not charitable in accordance with Isertion 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005] and lsertion 2 of the Charities Act {Northern Ireland) 2008 Review of the yearfs actlvitles and summary of the main achlevements durlng the year During the period of thi5 report the organisation has continued to run volunteer operated sessions with advisory input from North Yorkshire Council. Trainlng for new volunteers Is ongoing in the 5yStem5 and processes and North Yorkshire Council periodically offers training to new voluntee15. In

addition, we have faceto face trainingfor new initiatives undertaken by members of the management committee and a part-time self-employed contractor. During this period Tadcaster Community Library has received funding of £800 from North Yorkshire Council in recognition of services offered at the library to assist clti2ens acce5sin8 Council services, as there is no council presence in the town, In addition we received a grant of £201)O from our councillor's locality budget to assist with the heavy costs of heating the buildlng and a grant of £150 from Tadcaster Town Council to create a small sarden area. We have been registered for Gift Aid for two years and during this period reclaimed our first Gift Aid on the donations we received from donor5 eligible to donate Git Aid plus small cash donations. Statement of Responsibilltles of the Trustees of Tadcaster Communlty Llbrary The Board of Trustees is responsible for keepin8 proper accounting records which dlsclose with reasonable a¢curacy, at any tlme, the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with applicable Accounting Standards and Statements of Recommended Practice. The Board is also responsible for safe8uardin8 the assets of Tadcaster Community Library and hence for taking responsible steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irre8ularities.
