Chair’s Report for 2022, presented at the AGM on 18 April 2023
After a year of transition, the last twelve months have seen a return to more normal times for Bewdley Street Pastors.
A number of key events of the last year include the difficult decision not to take over oversight of Birmingham Rail pastors from Stourbridge, which I know was disappointing for the rail pastors. Kidderminster Street pastors had indicated that they were happy to take this on, but this has not been possible for them.
During the year Alison Underwood stood down from the Coordinator role, and resigned as a Trustee, and we would like to thank Alison for all that she has done for Street Pastors over the last decade, not just in Bewdley but in Kidderminster and Stourbridge too. We are pleased that Elizabeth Lee has agreed to take on the role of coordinator.
Lastly, we welcomed a new Street Pastor, Sarah to the team, and appreciate the enthusiasm she has brought to the role.
The management committee has once again worked hard, particularly ensuring correct policies and procedures are in place. Finances continue to be ok, although reserves are diminishing as we are having to pay more to the Ascension Trust as part of our Licence obligations.
An issue going forward will be to ensure that vacant roles on the management committee, namely secretary and prayer coordinator are filled as soon as possible.
