**Bewdley Street Pastors** Registered Charity No. 1168930 Affiliated to the Ascension Trust **www.streetpastors.org.uk Bewdley Baptist Church, 61 High Street, Bewdley DY12 2DJ** _____________________________________________________________________ **ANNUAL REPORT & ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR 2020 (01-01-2020 – 31-12-202020)** **Presented to the Annual General Meeting 10 September 2021** ## **Bewdley Street Pastors** Bewdley Street Pastors, licensed by Ascension Trust No 016801, was commissioned in May 2015 and was approved as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) on 26 August 2016, Registered Charity No. 1168930. The purpose of the CIO is to provide regular patrols of a team of Street Pastors in the town of Bewdley, supported by Prayer Pastors who pray from their homes and/or from the Bewdley Street Pastor base at the Baptist Church office in the town, with the objective of promoting community safety and the wellbeing of vulnerable and potentially vulnerable people. The CIO’s board comprises representatives (Trustees) from various Christian denominations in the town. The Trustees during the year were: Simon Harry, Chair Susan Dernie, Secretary Mike Dernie, Treasurer David Ellis Alison Underwood Lynne White Steven Robinson 1 **Bewdley Street Pastors** Registered Charity No. 1168930 Affiliated to the Ascension Trust **www.streetpastors.org.uk Bewdley Baptist Church, 61 High Street, Bewdley DY12 2DJ** _____________________________________________________________________ ## **Chair’s Report** During 2020 we were unable to send out any patrols due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the Trustees continued to meet regularly by Zoom and contact with Street Pastors and Prayer Pastors was maintained. 2021 has been a year of two parts for Bewdley Street Pastors. The first quarter’s planned patrols continued to be suspended due to the pandemic. However, during this time the management committee put together guidelines for when patrols were able to restart and patrols were finally able to restart on April 12th. Since then a number of patrols have gone out and have been well received by those they have met. Patrols will continue in the coming months and the management committee will continue to reflect on guidance given to the patrols. Finances continue to be in a good position and the number of Street Pastors has remained steady. Lynne Fox has stepped down from the management committee as she has moved to Malvern, and Steve Robinson, the pastor at Riverside Elim, has joined the management committee. After Lynne's departure the position of Prayer Coordinator remains vacant. The committee are also looking at further ways to encourage engagement with local churches in the coming year. I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: - accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act _or_ - the accounts do not accord with those records.
