## **Trustee Report** ## **25 August 2019 – 31 August 2020** ## **1168924** ## **Our work in Lebanon** Three trips were made to Lebanon in this reporting period by one of the trustees, Razia Anwar. Lebanon hosts 1.5 million Syrian refugees and an estimated 270,000 Palestinian refugees. This year our fundraising has concentrated on Lebanon due to the vast need of basics such as heating fuel and food insecurity due to rising inflation and unstable economy. Food sacks, heating fuel, shelter building, water tanks, financial aid, medical assistance and operations were provided. Referrals were made to larger key organisations on maintenance of water in order to improve water access, sanitation facilities and hygiene services for the camp. The areas, refugee informal settlements and camps where we assisted were Beirut, Bekka Valley and Saida. The last trip in August 2020 was providing assistance to the Beirut Blast victims where funds helped towards construction of their homes in badly devastated areas close to the blast. This year has been an unusual time for the charity due to difficulty in fundraising and travelling to deliver projects. April 2020 Covid-19 restriction lockdown decreased methods of building on refugee awareness and this affected fundraising for our Lebanon projects. However, the trustees were thrilled to raise the amount we did in these circumstances. All three of the trustees are keyworkers, two nurses and a teacher which impacted our charity commitments due to our own heightened challenging employments in the UK. ## **Future September 2020 onwards** We have partnered with several UK based organisations to build on outdoor conservation projects. We are undertaking walking clubs and challenging outdoor activities to help our users get back to normality and help with their mental health and stress coping mechanisms. To build on our future projects, requires more trustees, volunteers to visualise our goals. This means forging more partnerships, innovating our missions and investing more time to awareness. Our medicals skills will mean reacting more immediately and incisively to medical emergencies and delivering more longterm positive outcomes in more communities.
