## **Overview** 

During the financial year of April 2021 to April 2022, CNF continued to promote, market and promote the voluntary sector by listing numerous organisations in our campaigns gallery found at charityneeds.com, but then COVID happened… again. 

In 2020 the world found out about COVID, it was a devastating year and not much of a year to talk about apart from being in lockdown and yarda, yarda, yarda. 

But then we thought the crisis was going to be over, things started to open up and get moving, yet, before the year was out, we got a Christmas present — lockdown — COVID was happening again and moving into 2022. 

This is where momentum really came to a standstill for CNF, as well as many other organisations around the world. Here is a timetable of the COVI-19 Lockdown Times & Dates. 



2021 started with virtually every organisation on the planet heading into the global pandemic known as COVID-19, its persistence through this period caused major disruption to CNF’s mission and has closed off our ability to freely travel in pursuit of the charitable causes and campaigns our followers are accustomed to reading. For us, it's a big blow because we love promoting awareness for charitable campaigns. 

The pandemic also slowed our progress with the software applications we are trying to build in order to generate sustainable revenue streams for CNF. When those get back into the flow of things will depend on how soon normality returns, yet there is a lot of talk that what we are living through may become the ‘new normal’ as people are terming it. And by the end of this reporting period, a lot of that ‘new normal’ seems to be sticking. 

It’s a little harder to get hold of people as they work remotely, a little harder to get things done in a timely fashion, again because of communications and getting hold of the right persons. Unlike working in an office where one can be passed from phone extension to phone extension, the remote communication network is a little more cumbersome. Without an extension network, there's a noticeable difference, yet most companies and organisations have chosen to remain this way for the time being, whether that becomes a permanent feature in the future remains to be seen. It’s looking ominous, but it could prove auspicious. 

We did manage to complete a few articles which are covered in the trustee reports of those who were involved in them or authored them, however, the telling signs are that by the end of 2022 we may not have done any more articles because of the knock on effect all this disruption will have. 

COVID-!9 caused an unbelievable amount of world disruption and CNF has not been immune to that. Our expectation going forward is that we may very well have a slow start into the next period leaving us with little to report. 

In the meantime we will pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and restart all over again.

## **Trustee Report of Jonathan Fleming** 

## **for the reporting period 6th April 2021 - 5th April 2022** 

During the financial year of April 2021 to April 2022 the charity was doing very well with its listing on the website charityneeds.com and with promotions through social media of those organisations listed in our campaigns gallery as we call it. 

I don’t think anybody worldwide expected COVID to have had a second wave one year after the first and this seriously impacted on our plans. Unfortunately with the amount of lockdown, instability and uncertainty, the charity’s projects have slowed to a halt and may take some time to revive during the next reporting period. 

There were several articles that we completed during this reporting period and producing these in the near future may be hampered by certain restrictions that may well still be in place because of COVID even though lockdown has been lifted and trading has begun to open up. 

The articles covered the update of two virtual online tournaments that involved WAKO which is the World Association Kickboxing Organisation that has recently managed to get its sport enlisted as an official Olympic tournament. 

The virtual tournaments were put on to address mental health issues in young people, particularly as COVID had removed the ability for kids to get out and do recreational or sporting activities. WAKO’s UK Kickboxing coach, Neville Wray,  noticed that lockdown was causing a lot of anxiety and depression with his students unable to attend their normal lessons and so set about planning to build an online virtual tournament that became a real success. ## **Sudden Death of Horses (Update 4)** 

## **Released — 23rd April 2021** 

Having followed the tragic sudden death stories of nineteen horses over a two year period for the nonprofit association known as Italian Horse Protection, CNF saw their pain, horror and desperation come to a peak. Once again they had to up sticks and move more than 50 horses to new pastures having lost so many at a relatively new home.

## **Virtual Kickboxing for Young Minds  (Update) Released — 2nd-August-2021** 

This is an update article bringing the results of the first ever online kickboxing contest which was to help young sports people get some sort of mental activity 



out of the inactivity that COVID-19 lockdown had brought on. The event raised funds for the charity 'Young Minds' an organisation that covers all aspects of mental health issues amongst young people.. Author: Andrea Arnold

## **Virtual Kickboxing for WellChild  (Update) Released — 27th-August-2021** 

This article is an update about the online sporting contest that was held during lockdown of COVID-19 to help young sports people keep active, whilst at the same time helping a children's charity that provides support at home for sick children instead of in hospital.

## **Trustee Report of Andrea Arnold** 

## **for the reporting period 6th April 2021 - 5th April 2022** 

I wrote four articles in 2021, two for WellChild and two for YoungMinds, 1 of each has landed in this reporting period, the other two fell into the previous reporting period. These events were to promote awareness of mental health issues regarding young people through the two virtual kickboxing tournaments which were well received by the public and raised £2180.00 for the charities (£915.00 for WellChild and £1265.00 for YoungMinds) and were greatly appreciated by the charities concerned. 

Due to a second wave of Covid throughout 2021, the Charity has quite badly been affected and our activities have been severely curtailed, even so, Jonathan has continued to make good progress with the website. 

Hopefully we can look forward to a more productive report next year.

## **Trustee Report of Hazel Arnold**

Continuing on from the end of last year’s report… 

At the beginning of the year  I was still working closely with Sonny (president of Italian Horse Protection (IHP), a registered non profit association in Italy) so we could get out an update on Sonny's  move due to the unexplained deaths of 19 horses. It turned out the premises Sonny had moved to didn't work out. IHP were going to move back to the original premises where I first met Sonny. 

I did send an email before he moved but didn't get a reply, I believe he must have been under alot of pressure at the time.

At the AGM in December 2020, we spoke about getting back in touch with Sonny, which is something I haven't done yet as the last few months have been hectic and unsettling in respect of my personal circumstances.  I'm hoping to become a resident of Spain, there have been and I expect we have some more hoops to jump through which lead to me feeling very unsettled and unfocused pretty much the last four months of 2021 due to uncertainty. I threw myself into exploring a creative side which has helped me a great deal. 

I will now drop Sonny an email to touch base as writing this report has given me the motivation I needed. 

Jonathan brought to my attention that the article I wrote Grazing the Green was picked up by a Veterinary Magazine. The article  covered a story of a volunteer at Easy Horse Care Rescue Spain, Jasmine.
