FRIENDS OF FECKENHAM PARISH CHURCH TRUSTEES REPORT FOR 2022/2023 Registered charity number 1168889 The Charity was formed in August 2016.This is the report covering the Charities activities since the last AGM held on 5 June 2022. Together with the approved accounts it will form the basis of the submission to The Charities Commission. Since the last AGM there have been 7 meetings of the Trustees. The Charity was founded so that our Church remains the symbolic centre of our village and continues to be able to be used by a wide range of community activities. The maintenance and heritage of the building, fabric and surrounds are our principal concerns. The Trustees deal with suitable requests for finance to keep the Church and surroundings in good order. The current trustees are: Andrew Fisher KC (Chair) Philip Guise (secretary) Chris Bristow (treasurer) Catherine Fisher Felicity Burman Katie Wormington John Eaton Simon Sharp We are sorry to report the sad death of Mike Sansom who served as Trustee but retired a few months ago. Our thoughts are with his family. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY THE TRUSTEES IN ORDER TO EXECUTE ITS PURPOSE 1 New flags have been purchased. Others have been refurbished. 2 Damaged windows in the Tower have been repaired and bird intrusion netting installed where necessary. 3 The Bio-Diversity project has been completed in the Churchyard. 4 The Church Architect reported that the roof would need replacing at a total cost of £592,000 including fees. Concern was expressed by the Trustees who subsequently had a meeting with the FPCC. It was agreed to wait for the imminent Quinquennial report(recently received) to decide on the most appropriate strategy to deal with this significant issue.
