Bedale & Dlstrlct Methodist Churth was created in September 2015. aiming to setve the
communities of Bedale and ￿skeW and surrounding villa8es and fanns by offering God's love and
pastordl care.
Alms and oryanlsatlon
Bedale & District Methodlst Church alms to become a souro of hope and encouragemerrt to all those
livin8 in Bedale and surroundiThd villages by offering opportunities to know the love of God through
varied worship, relevantteathln8 and leamir% and to committed service in the community and in the
world.
The Church Counal, worklng aloryaskle the Mlnister for Pastoral Care, act as the Managing Trustees
and meet at least 3 times a year to oversee the work and mlsslon of the church. There are su
groups that concentrate on particular a￿$. these are Stewards. Finance, Property. Worship &
Prayer. Pastoral and Displav.
Revlew of the Year
At the start of the flnancial year the country was still in the throes of the Coronavlrus epidernlc and
worshlp In the building was ￿$trIcted by numbers who could enter. with face coverin85/ hand
sanitiser and no singin8 being required. Many of the congregation remained at home enjoying the
new on-llne services, or receiviTrd written ones if not able to use the internet. It was agreed not to
open the buildin8 to the publk, $0 Do lettin8s or coffee mornlng incorne were forth-comln& makln8

We dld complete the redevelopment Ilnances, rece￿￿ the Rank Trust Fund to settle the final
account to the Contractor. and stonework repairs by Phoenix Arthltectural pald by the church at the
end of the previo￿ year.
The church donated EIOO each to Hambleton Foodshare. Shelter UK and Christian Aid (from Coffee
mornin8 fund5 from the previous year) and continued to support the Methodist Connexional
charlties wwth financial 8ifts tw. The Ripon & Lower Dales Circuit kindly refunded part of the
Assessment, which the Church Coundl deoded to gift to the smaller thurd￿5 of our Section. who
had struggled much more than ours durI￿a the pandemic
By summer. more people were receiviryd Vacdnations and therefore more confident to attend
churth in person, whith meant opportunltles to meel and talk and offer better pastoral care. The
Trustees made preparations for the building to be open for events from the start of the next
financial year, keen to reach out to support local businesses. social and leisure 8roups wl)o had not
been able to use the premise&
With the generosity of our rnembers the income for the year matched the expenditure1£62.230}
leaving us in a healthy position wtth £15.1)Xl in reserve to move forward with mission plans of
readiing into the community by offering new ventures and outreath. beginning with Open Churth
on Tuesdays from September 2021. This will offer chat. care and fellowship over coffee, with time
for private prayer and optional worship time.
