Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
We admitted and helped 375 hedgehogs during the year. We stayed open and adopted a Covid safe drop-off system for hedgehogs.
We put in place a work alone system for our volunteers to ensure their safety and that the rescue could stay open during restrictions. Although all our fundraising events were cancelled, we made use of our social media and online presence to bring in essential funds.
We were able to complete our second phase of the British Hedgehog Preservation Society part-funded Hedgehog Republic project.
We worked with Gloucester City Council and their contractors, Amey, to thermal image scan areas of grass cutting to protect wildlife.
2021 is a year of consolidation to enable us to put in place the strategies needed to enable the rescue to stay open whatever future restrictions may be put in place.
