The trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31[st] December 2025
In accordance with Section 4 (6) of the Charities Act 2006 and the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 the trustees have given due regard to the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission when exercising their powers and duties during the period.

Structure, governance & management
The Trust was established by deed on 20 January 2016 and registered as a charity on 16 August 2016. the creation of a constitution which was adopted on 21st June 1998. Trustees are appointed to the Trustee Board by other trustees in accordance with Clause 9 of the Trust Deed..
Objectives and activities
The Trust’s objectives are:

a) The prevention or relief of poverty in Brighton and Hove.

b) To relieve poverty [or financial hardship] and to provide education and other forms of support for refugees, asylum seekers, migrant workers.

c) The promotion of equality and diversity.

d) To provide small grants to students in further or higher education who have a connection with Brighton and Hove

e) To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment

f) To advance such charitable purposes as the trustees see fit from time to time.

g) To achieve all of the above by the provision of small grants to organisations
The charity’s activities are primarily the provision of small grants to a variety of ‘unpopular’
groups and causes and in particular the support of the Al Tafawk Children’s Centre in Jenin, Occupied Palestine which has been subject to attack on numerous occasions by the Israeli military.
Financial review
In the financial year 2025 we had an income of £96,106 and expenditure of £76,416 leaving a surplus of £19,690 and net current assets of £2,898. We also put £33,698 into reserves. The Trust had an extremely successful financial year, increasing our income fourfold and our expenditure threefold. We also set aside over £33,000 in reserves. These are deposited in fixed bonds at market rates.
In the previous financial year we increased our support for the Al Tafawk Children’s Centre from £18,500 to £46,200. We also increased the level of grants given to small groups and other charities from just over £2,000 to £24,597.
Trustees’ responsibilities
The trustees have overall responsibility for ensuring that the charity has appropriate systems of controls, financial and otherwise. They are also responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the appropriate regulations. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
