CRICK COMMUNITY SPORTS CENTRE CIO REGISTERED CHARrtY NUMBER: 1168718 REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES CONTINUED Activit￿ on the grass have been grealty aided by those on the MUGA, for winter training and through the revenue11 generates lo support other activitles. As well as the CAFC teams training on the MUGA, it is also used by Crick Athletic Walking Football, local 5-a-side teams. for parties and for tennis. The facilities are not just used by the immediate community of Crlck either. Regular bookings are made by the communities of Yelvertoft, Naseby and Long Buckby too. The commercial success of the MUGA has enabled the CIO to invest in improving the f&ilitres as a whole and to subsidi5e less commercial but nevertheless beneficial activities within the sports centre pavilton. The cenlre regularly hosted Pilates. Yoga and Well Being classes, and ha5 been used as a training centre again this year. There has also been an increasing number of Kyivate party hires, opening th8 centre to a wider group of communtty users. Further away from the cenlre, SWEAT continues lo host sev8ral fitness classes ranging from circuits and cycling through to aerobics and Zumba. Durlng the period under review. th8 Trustees have continued lo invest in and develop the facilrties around the cenlre. including new ball nets on pitch 1 and better heating controls within the centre its8￿. The MUGA continues lo be subjecl to annual maintenance and repairs have been made as necessary lo prolong the lrfe of a major asset. Joint projects have included the contlnualion of a 6-year Pitch Improvemgnl Programme with Crick Athletic Football Club. the Football Foundation and North8nls County FA. Each year herbicide and fertiliser are applied, the pitches 5Garified, over seeded. vertidrained and dressed wth sand. Further work on the track from the main car park has improved the access for all visitors lo the Jubilee and Millenium Wood$ and also provides additional car parking for users of the Football pitches and Cri¢ket Club. Additional security has been added to the track with a safety gate. PLANS FOR FUTURE YEARS The Irust8es continue lo apply the income of the CIO to benefrt as many inhabilanls of Crick and its surrounding communities as possible. The incoming funds, except for capital grants, are unreslrlcted in their use by Ihe CIO and th& Trustees consider that currenl funds are suflicient to meet ils ongoing obligatK)ns. Where capital grants are available. the resulting grant award often has conditions attached lo il as lo how the monles can be spent. The CIO regards these grants as restricted funds until the monies have been spent and the grant conditions satisfied. We have a long list of irnprovemenl prolects we would like to undertake but these must be priorilised in terms of the benefit to the community. in conjunction wlth the sports centre usèrs, plans and the wsls of funding where grants are not available. In the short-term, we plan lo give the pavilion a little more attention with some gener81 maintenance and renewed appliances. We would also like to install 501ar panels on the roof of the pavilion in order lo reduce the eleGlricity costs generated by the MUGA lights. We are constantly impmving the qualty of our grounds and pitch8$ and trying lo extend the use of the facilities over the summer months. Now the ¢rlckel club has facilities lo host matches we hope lo see its ￿ntinUed growth and development, and iE)creased use of theiT artificial cricket strip. new exlension and palio area. The long-term Pitch Improvement Programme and the mid-term access track project will contlnue bul we also hope to improve the Gar park areas over Ihe coming year and further protect the Sile from vandalism and inappropriate ￿Cess.
