Ob"ectives and activities
To advance the Christian faith in ao¢ordance with the Statement of
Beliefs, in particular supporting the charitable work of MCF in its various
facets both in and around the area of Martock, Somèrset, and such other
areas as may be deemed appropriate from time lo time including
overseas and by maintaining the upkeep and repair of the fabric of the
buildings used by MCF for ch8ritsble purposes.

To gather together as a Fellowship to worship and praise God and to
teach his word. All are welcome to attend the Sunday morning service
and bible leaching classes held during the week.
Each week during school temi timès, a toddle group (Sunbeams) meets
for 2 hours. Since the Coffee shop opened in The George as part oflhe
Church, parents & carers meet there beforehand before the session
opens.
A Bereavement Group meets to support all those in the Community that
has suffered or éxpérienced bereavement. The group is staffed by
volunteers from the Church.

Alpha Course- held usually in the Autumn, this year 10 people attènded.
Al the main Christian celebrations of Easter and Christmas the Chapel
was open out to the public to see and hear the story of the birth of Christ
and Ihe crucifixion.
Transforming Lives - a food bank lo support those in need in Martock.
with special giving during Christmas and Easter.
Clothes Bank - a new initiative sel up In 2024 to provide good quality
children clothing lo those in need.
The Tru81èes declare that they have had regard to Charity Commission's

which the guidance is relevant.

Conlinued support of local families in need, both financially, with food and
now clothing.
Seeing the growth of the community benefit of The Coffee shop operated
by the Fellowship out of The George-'Thg Ge0￿e Coff88 Shop..
Serving the Notice of Cornrnencement for works where the Fellowship
secured planning and listed building consent in January 2022 to extend
the Geor9e Coffee shop and provide a full extraction kitchen. The
enlarged seating area and food preparation will enable the Fellowship to
build on rts support in the IoeAI community.
At the start of the year, Saw the implementation of the new leadership
structure and organisalion of the church that was planned for throughout
2023, in the knowledge that the Senior Pastor of over 23 years seNing
the Fèllowship was retiring. In addition 4 Trustees stepped down and 2
new Trustees appointed. The Leadership compromised initially 7
members of the Fellowship, but following the Associate Pastor leaving
midway through the year, now 6. Under the Leadership Team are the
Ops Team that seek to implement the day to day running of the church
and services.

There was an overall cash deficit of £39.623, with closing cash reserves
of £132.426. of which £18,155 relates to restri￿ed funds.
Within the unreslricled funds cash balance of £114.271 at the year end,
£4,122 is held in the building fijnd designated account. which a has been
set aside for future building projects.
The Trustees have opted to make use of the provisions for producing
ac¢ounls on a Receipts and Payments Basis, The comparative figures
for 2023 have been reslaled accordingly.
Principal source of funding is through regular donalionslcolle¢tions al the
Sunday services or through dlrecl debit IDDI of Members of the
Fellowship, guests and visitors. The reclaiming of Gift Aid, In addition
income earned from sales through the coffee shop, The George and
Hiring of the Halls and rooms.
The Building Fund Idesignaled unreslricledl received donations, Gift Aid,
to support the vision of extending the George Coffee Shop, for which
planning and listed building consent were granted in January 2022.
The collection Igivingl and sales funds the employment of a Pastor,
part-time admin staff. cleaners, Baristas for the Coffee Shop, the running
and repair expenses of the Chapel building and The George.
Where there is surplus cash, this is invested in deposit accounts that are
rotected b the FSCS
