ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Chailtable a¢tlvltles
This year has seen a con5clous strengthening of the charity's strateglc dlrectlon, initially undertaklng a thorough
review of the Trustee 8oard, in order to enable us to recruit 3 more diverse board who bring with them a wlder
range of skills and experience. Thi5 hès led to some key strategic decisions in terms of the charity's structure. in
particular the increase of employed members of staff - movlng from 5 to 8 employees, the laigest employed team
slnce the charlty founded in 2016. This has allowed us to Strengthen the Support we offer, especially wlth regords

With an increasingly strong reputation, and as the reglon's only re8lstered dyslexia charity, we continue to seè an

and 30 adults vla dyslexia a5se55ments- compared to 224 and 11 respectlvely in our previous f Inancial year.
We are deepening our relationships with a higher number ol local primary and secondary schools. As well and as
5upportlng their u nderstanding of their learners, needs via formal dyslexia assessment5, we have delivered staff
tralning at 8 schoo15, and offered support via 4 coffee mornin8S to support their community of parents - this Is
compared to 7 and 2 schools in the flnancial year 22123.
Specialist tuition remains at the heart of what the charity deliver helping people of all ases to overcome barriers
to success and reach thÈir potential. This year we have supported 72 youn8 people via specialist weekly support,

Awareness rai51ng events have taken place throughout the year to support individuals and families to come
together, to celebrate dyslexia and explore ways to make positive contributions to the world around them, as
well as to contribute to the charity's fundr815ing oblective5.
Financially, the charlty has ended the year with a sm311 financial deficit. Our charitable income has seen a slight

Movlng forwards, the charlty is focused on strengthening its strate8ic posltlonlng, and key to th5s15 the
Implementation of a 5-ye3r strateglc plan, ès wÈll as further recruitment to the TrLJStee Board, including expertise
In HR and Finance.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Regerves policy
Cash and deposit balance5 are malntalned to be able to meet outgoings and grant obligallons from time to time.
The linèncial position of the charity on 31 August 24 is Considered to be satisfactory, with sufficient reseNes to
meet current commitments.
The Charity has a reserves policy which Is reviewed on an annual basls. The current reserves policy adopted by
the Irustees is to maintain reserves at a level which 15 between three months and nine months budgeted
expenditvre.
Our currenl reserves are now at 4.5 months, expenditure and as a small charity) this is a comfortable level. This is
because in the current economic tlimate, the trustees are parlicularly mindful of the need to contain the risk that
the Charity cannot meet the paymenls to which it is committed IF the income ol the Charity declines.
In addition, should Ihe Charity find itself in the position Ihat it 15 no lon8er able to operate. the reserves will be
utili5ed to support the cost of redundancie5.
