OBJECTIVES The objectives of the Society are to provide, maintain and advance musical education by means of public performance. ORGANISATION The Charity is administered by the Trustees who hold fegular meetings through the year, TRUSTEES The Trustees are elected atthe AGM for a three year term and may serve for up to three consecutive terms. RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND THE EXAMINER
The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.The charity considers that an audit is not required for this period(under section 43(2) of the Charities Act(the 1993 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

- examine the accounts (under section 43(3) of the 1993 Act) - to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under section 43(7) of the 1993 Act) ; and - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charities Commissioners.This examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters.The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT
in connection with my examination,no matter has come to my attention :
1 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements : - to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act,and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with The Charities(Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2000,the Statement of Recommended practice ( SORP) " Accounting and Reporting by Charities " and with applicable accounting standards.

1 ACCOUNTING POLICIES

The principal accounting policy adopted in the preparation of the financial statements is : set out below and remains unchanged from the previous period. . Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements The financial statements have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis. 3 RELATED PARTIES
The Trustees(with the exception of Andy Parsley) are members of the choir and pay the same subscription rate as all other choir members.
4 ASSETS
The Trustees carried out a valuation exercise on the Sociey's physical assets and music scores in year ended 31 August 2020.
The valuation exercise comprised : -
- establishment of original cost (where possible) - estimation of realisable value - estimation of replacement cost.
The Trustees have updated their valuation exercise to 31 August 2023 and have concluded that those assets have a net realisable value of £ 2444 (2022 : £ 2220).These assets had a nominal value of £ 660 in 2019. They also concluded that the replacement cost of the Society's assets is £10347 ( 2022 : £ 7661). These valuations are shown for information purposes only.
