Alhamdulillah, with the permission of Allah, your support and trust in One Ummah allowed us to deliver life-saving humanitarian aid to over 2 MILLION of the world’s most vulnerable people. Together, we have fed the hungry, quenched the thirsty, sheltered the displaced and treated the sick and wounded. You restored hope to countless communities, and from the bottom of our hearts... thank you.

One Ummah is blessed to be able to deliver your Amanah (sacred trust) and transform lives in 19 countries worldwide. Was-salatu wa-s-salamu ‘alā Rasulillah Alhamdulillah. All praise belongs to Allah

The past year has been one of the most testing periods our Ummah has faced in recent history. From the ongoing devastation in Palestine, to war and displacement in Sudan, Syria and Lebanon, to climate-driven disasters across South Asia and Africa, hardship has touched millions of our brothers and sisters. Yet amid this suffering, one truth has remained constant: when the Ummah is called, it responds alhamdulillah.

With the permission of Allah and through the trust you placed in One Ummah, we delivered life-saving humanitarian aid to over 2 million people across 19 countries during the 2024/25 accounting year.

Together, we fed the hungry, quenched the thirsty, sheltered the displaced, treated the sick, protected orphans, and upheld dignity where it was most under threat. Every figure in this report represents a life, a mother, a child, a family, whom Allah allowed us to serve through your generosity.

This year will be remembered as one defined by unprecedented need, particularly in Palestine, where the scale of human suffering has reached levels unseen in our lifetime. As homes, hospitals, and livelihoods were destroyed, One Ummah remained steadfast in its duty.

Alhamdulillah, your support enabled us to reach over 800,000 people in Palestine alone, providing emergency food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter, winter relief, and vital support for infants and children under siege.

We did not look away, and we will not abandon our brothers and sisters as recovery and rebuilding continue. Beyond Gaza, your Amanah reached communities devastated by war, famine, floods, and poverty.

From Sudan’s growing humanitarian catastrophe, to Afghanistan’s floods, Bangladesh’s monsoon devastation, Yemen’s forgotten crisis, and Africa’s deepening poverty, One Ummah worked tirelessly to ensure your donations were delivered swiftly, responsibly, and in accordance with Islamic principles. This year alone, we delivered emergency food aid to nearly 700,000 people, provided clean water access to thousands, supported 3,800 orphans, sponsored families, rebuilt homes, constructed 193 Masājid, and delivered winter protection to over 78,000 people facing life-threatening cold conditions.

At the heart of our work remains a clear and unwavering approach: providing urgent humanitarian relief alongside long-term empowerment. We believe charity is not merely about survival, but about restoring dignity, stability, and hope. Whether through income-generating projects, education and teacher sponsorship, livelihood restoration, or sustainable water systems, we aim to help communities move from dependency to resilience, bi’ithnillah.

We remain firmly committed to our 100% Donation Policy, treating every pound entrusted to us as a sacred Amanah. Your Zakat, Sadaqah, and Qurbani were delivered with transparency, accountability, and scholarly oversight, ensuring they reached those most entitled to them under Islamic law.

The Prophet said: “He who does not thank the people is not thankful to Allah.” — [Abu Dawud]

Therefore, I would like to say, Jazakum Allahu Khayran, to our donors, volunteers, partners, trustees, and dedicated staff. Your sincerity, sacrifices, and unwavering support are the backbone of everything we do. May Allah accept all of our deeds, purify our intentions, place barakah in our wealth, and make this charity a means of protection for us all in this life and the Hereafter.

As we look ahead to the coming year, our resolve remains firm. The challenges facing our Ummah are immense, but so too is its compassion. With reliance upon Allah, adherence to the Qur’an and Sunnah, and unity of purpose, One Ummah will continue to stand with the oppressed, the hungry, and the forgotten, United Against Poverty, not as a slogan, but as a collective obligation.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

As we reflect on the 2024/25 year, I do so with a deep sense of humility, responsibility, and gratitude to Allah. This has been one of the most challenging periods our Ummah has faced in recent history, marked by widespread conflict, displacement, natural disasters, and deepening poverty across many parts of the world. Yet it has also been a year that reaffirmed the strength, compassion, and unity of the Ummah when guided by faith and action.

Alhamdulillah, through the collective efforts of our donors, volunteers, staff, and partners, One Ummah delivered life-saving humanitarian assistance to over 2 million people across 19 countries. From emergency food distributions and clean water access, to shelter, medical aid, orphan care, and winter relief, your trust enabled us to uphold dignity and preserve life in circumstances where hope was scarce. Every project delivered this year reflects a sacred Amanah fulfilled with care, transparency, and accountability.

It is impossible to speak of this year without acknowledging the immense suffering endured by our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Since October 2023, the world has witnessed a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza that has shaken the conscience of humanity. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost, the vast majority women and children, entire neighbourhoods reduced to rubble, and essential services systematically destroyed. Over 90 percent of the population has been displaced, many repeatedly, while hunger, thirst, and disease have become daily realities.

In the face of these horrors, One Ummah remained steadfast. Despite severe access restrictions and logistical challenges, your support enabled us to deliver large-scale emergency food aid, clean water, medical supplies, shelter, winter items, and vital support for infants and families in Gaza. Reaching thousands of people in Palestine this year was not only an operational achievement, but a moral obligation we were honoured to fulfil on behalf of the Ummah.

Beyond Palestine, crises in Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and across Africa demanded sustained and compassionate responses. Whether responding to conflict, floods, famine, or long-term deprivation, One Ummah continued to balance urgent relief with long-term empowerment, investing in livelihoods, education, water systems, and community infrastructure so families can rebuild their lives with dignity, by the permission of Allah.

As Chair, I am proud of the governance, integrity, and Islamic values that underpin One Ummah’s work. Our Board of Trustees remains committed to ensuring strong oversight, prudent financial management, and adherence to our 100% Donation Policy, safeguarding the trust you place in us. This commitment is essential not only for accountability, but for maintaining sincerity in our service to Allah and His creation.

None of this work would be possible without you. To our donors, volunteers, staff, and partners, you are the backbone of One Ummah. Your compassion, sacrifice, and steadfastness continue to inspire us, even in the darkest of times. You have proven that the Ummah of Rasulullah remains united when it matters most.

As we look ahead, the needs before us remain immense. Gaza will require years of recovery and rebuilding. Other forgotten crises continue to deepen. Our responsibility, however, is clear. We must stand firm with the oppressed, support the vulnerable, and transform despair into hope through sustained action rooted in faith.

PALESTINE

THE WORST HUMANITARIAN CRISIS OF OUR LIFETIME

Your Life-Saving Aid Reached 866,932 Brothers and Sisters in Palestine.

The Situation

Since October 2023, Palestine has faced one of the worst

humanitarian crises in history. Over 60,000 people have been martyred, with at least 145,000 injured. Most of the victims are women and children. Entire families lie buried beneath the rubble. Others struggle to survive under siege with no food, clean water, or medical aid.

One Ummah’s Response

For over a decade, we’ve stood with Palestinian families through occupation, blockade, and bombardment. Our teams worked tirelessly this past year to address the most urgent needs. Our primary commitment was to sustain life itself and prevent starvation and thirst. Alhamdulillah, we distributed hundreds of thousands of hot meals and food packs, as well as over twenty million litres of clean water.

Over 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, often multiple

times. In the West Bank, violence and oppression continue daily, while generations of Palestinians in refugee camps remain stateless.

Basic vegetables cost hundreds of pounds. Medicine is gone. Food and clean water are scarce. Throughout all this suffering, your support has been a critical lifeline.

Protecting the most vulnerable was at the heart of our work, with a major focus on children and infants ensuring they received life-saving winter packs, baby kits and infant kits. From providing tents to thousands of hygiene and medical packs, our approach ensured comprehensive support for our Palestinian brothers and sisters.

SYRIA

14 YEARS OF WAR-TORN SUFFERING

Your Life-Saving Aid Reached 479,920 Brothers and Sisters in Syria.

The Situation

Fourteen years of conflict have created one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises. Over half a million lives lost, over 14 million refugees have fled the country, and more than 7.2 million internally displaced. Today, 16.7 million people equivalent to 70% of Syria’s population need urgent aid, with 90% living in poverty.

The crisis has stolen childhoods. Over 7 million relying on humanitarian aid. Over 6 million need protection. 2.4 million children out of school. With 38% of hospitals and 47% of primary healthcare centres non-functional, children are more vulnerable to waterborne diseases, malnutrition, and exploitation.

One Ummah’s Response

One Ummah’s response in Syria addresses both the immediate devastation and the deep need for long-term recovery. Your support, an Amanah we hold sacred, enabled a multi-pronged approach.

We delivered life-saving sustenance through daily meals and food packs, constructed new homes and distributed winter survival kits, and protected the most vulnerable through orphan sponsorship.

By fulfilling the Sunnah of Aqiqah and Qurbani, together we’ve brought moments of joy and normality to families, while our distributions of Zakat and Eid gifts have provided both essential support and spiritual solidarity.

From securing basic survival needs to laying the foundations for sustainable rebuilding, our work is a continuous effort to help the Syrian people reclaim their dignity and future, Insha’Allah.

LEBANON

A YEAR OF RELENTLESS SUFFERING

Your Life-Saving Aid Reached 105,400 Brothers and Sisters in Lebanon.

The Situation

Lebanon endured one of its most difficult years since the 2006 conflict. Daily airstrikes and shelling has resulted in over 1.6 million displaced. Over $14 billion in losses and two-thirds of housing in affected areas destroyed. Humanitarian access remains restricted, leaving thousands without shelter, food, or medical care.

The people of Lebanon face a major humanitarian crisis. The intensity of the destruction can only be compared to the devastation in Gaza. Many people, including refugees and asylum seekers are unable to meet their basic needs, and desperately rely on humanitarian aid to survive.

Their suffering isn’t slowing down, and their lives are at risk every single day.

One Ummah’s Response

Your support allowed One Ummah to act with compassion to fulfil the basic rights of our brothers and sisters: the right to sustenance, shelter, and dignity. Our efforts were strategically focused on providing immediate, life-saving relief to the most vulnerable people in disaster and conflict zones. This included a major distribution of food packs and hot meals, as well as hygiene packs, winter blankets, and mattresses.

Another core priority was the direct sponsorship of hundreds of orphans and vulnerable families. This provided them with not just financial stability, but also a sense of hope and belonging.

Your generosity extended to honouring the blessed Sunnah of Qurbani, providing nutritious meat to thousands, and ensured Zakat reached those most in need.

The Situation

A decade of conflict has escalated Yemen’s existing vulnerabilities into one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. 18 million people, 11 million children, desperate need aid. Around 4.5 million people, 14% of the population are displaced, with most experiencing multiple displacements. Of those displaced, 80% are women and children.

Tens of thousands live in famine-like conditions, with 5 million more on the brink. In total, more than 80% of Yemenis live in poverty. The economy has more than halved since the start. Malnutrition rates among women and children are the highest in the world. Our worst nightmare is their daily reality.

One Ummah’s Response

One Ummah’s operations in Yemen strategically tackled the dual crises of food insecurity and the collapse of essential services. Understanding that hunger is a daily battle, we invested in sustainable solutions like community bakeries that feed thousands daily, while also providing essential food packs for immediate survival.

Our mission extended to protecting the most vulnerable, from protecting a generation of infants with vital baby kits, to restoring sight and independence through life-changing cataract surgeries. Through these efforts, and the blessed distributions of Qurbani and Zakat, we ensured your support delivered not just aid, but dignity, resilience, and a tangible path toward a brighter future.

AFRICA THE FORGOTTEN CONTINENT

Your Life-Saving Aid Reached 809,242 Brothers and Sisters in Africa.

Over 400 MILLION Africans —5% of the World’s Population—Live in Extreme Poverty.

Africa continues to bleed as the world ignores. The Ummah has faced wave after wave of hardship. From conflict to climate disasters, these overlapping emergencies have pushed communities to the edge, making Africa the poorest continent in the world. Yet, their cries are lost in the noise of a world that turns away.

67% of the world’s extremely poor live in Africa. More people lack access to safe drinking water than the entire USA population: 420 million. A continent that should thrive, fights to survive on less than £2 a day. They are trapped in crushing poverty, fighting an endless battle against war, famine, and disease, resulting in a severe food crisis that affects over 800 million people. Malaria and HIV/AIDS continue to infect communities.

Children in Africa are among those most at risk. With 40% of the continent’s population under 15 years old and 50 million orphans among them, an entire generation grows up knowing hunger, disease, and loss as their daily companions. By 2050, half of the 1 billion people in sub-Saharan Africa will be under 25, a population that is expected to double in size in that time. Disease outbreaks, malnutrition, and s endless cycles of conflict have created a vicious trap where each crisis compounds, leaving families with nowhere to turn, but to Allah and us, their Ummah.

Malawi

We addressed both urgent hunger and the foundations for a brighter future. We delivered life-saving food supplies and Zakat aid to stabilise families in crisis, while Qurbani distributions brought nourishment and celebration during Eid. Recognising education as a core Islamic obligation, we invested deeply in building schools, supporting teachers, and providing holistic care for orphans to secure the next generation’s future.

Uganda

One Ummah’s priority in Uganda was to address the severe hunger crisis and build foundational community resources. We launched a massive food distribution effort, providing tens of thousands of meals and food packs to stabilise families facing starvation. Alongside this, we installed numerous bore wells to secure a permanent supply of clean water, combatting waterborne diseases and freeing up time for children to pursue education instead of fetching water.

Our commitment extended to sustainable community health, installing solar-powered water systems and sanitation facilities to protect families from disease. Through these combined efforts, from immediate relief to long-term empowerment, we provided targeted support to the most vulnerable, ensuring your compassion built lasting resilience.

Kenya

Guided by the fundamental Islamic priorities of preserving life and upholding dignity, our response in Kenya focused on providing three essential pillars of support. First, we tackled the water crisis by installing numerous deep-capped borewells, securing a safe and reliable source of clean water for entire communities and protecting them from disease. Second, we blessed thousands with nutritious Qurbani meat, ensuring they could share in the joy and nourishment of Eid.

The third pillar was to strengthen Iman. We built several Masajid, providing tens of thousands of Muslims with a safe place for prayer, congregation, and learning. These core efforts were supported by additional aid, including food packs and the sponsorship of orphans and families, ensuring a holistic approach to alleviating suffering and fostering resilience.

We invested in the future by constructing multiple Masajid to serve as centres of faith and community. We also supported education by sponsoring a school and 195 teachers, ensuring that knowledge and Islamic values continue to guide the next generation. These core efforts were complemented by the distribution of Zakat and Qurbani meat, offering both financial dignity and nutritional support to the most vulnerable.

Tanzania

You helped us deliver immediate, life-sustaining aid to communities affected by poverty and climate disasters. Our primary effort was a large-scale distribution of food packs and hot meals to combat severe hunger, providing a critical lifeline for thousands of families. We also distributed Qurbani meat during Eid, and Zakat-based cash aid to offer families the nutrition and dignity to address their most pressing needs.

Beyond emergency relief, we invested in foundational community structures to foster long-term resilience. We constructed new Masajid and sponsored teachers to help secure the future of education. By addressing both the urgent crisis of hunger and the need for spiritual and educational support, our work provided a comprehensive response to Tanzania’s challenges.

Niger

Your support allowed us to answer the call of the hungry and thirsty. We delivered thousands of food packs to provide sustenance and immediate relief from the grip of hunger. Alongside this, the blessed distribution of Qurbani meat brought nourishment and joy to families in desperate need.

We also established sustainable sources of clean water through new bore wells, an ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah. Furthermore, we distributed your Zakat and gifted livestock to families as a means of building sustainable livelihood, helping them regain their dignity and self-sufficiency by the permission of Allah.

One Ummah also carried out life-saving projects in Sudan, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Morocco and Mauritania.

The Situation

One Ummah’s Response

In Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, over one million Rohingya Muslims have sought refuge from persecution. Denied citizenship and fleeing violence, they now reside in the world’s largest refugee camp.

Bangladesh is the third most vulnerable country to natural disasters. In 2024, Cyclone Remal devastated coastal regions, affecting 18 million people and destroying over 35,000 homes. Subsequent monsoons triggered four major disasters, flooding 300,000 hectares of farmland, displacing 415,000 people and disrupting education for over 1.7 million children.

One Ummah reached thousands in Bangladesh with life-saving aid. A country ravaged by cyclones and floods, our primary efforts focused on large-scale emergency sustenance and shelter, delivering thousands of hot meals and food packs to displaced families, and constructing/fixing homes and shelters to provide safety.

Another top priority was to establish life-sustaining infrastructure. We installed hundreds of deep well tubes and hand pumps and provided targeted cash aid and Zakat distributions to offer flexibility and dignity in recovery. Alongside these broad initiatives, we distributed Qurbani, supported the disabled, and ran niche transformative projects like a dedicated cooking school and vocational training in graphic design and tailoring.

PAKISTAN FLOODED WITH HARDSHIP

The Situation

Climate issues, conflict and economic collapse have created urgent humanitarian needs across Pakistan. From the deadly flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to record-breaking heatwaves exceeding 48°C in Karachi, millions continue to suffer. The monsoon season affected over 3 million people and submerging 200,000 acres of vital cropland.

Bridges, roads, and schools were swept away, and flash floods and disease outbreaks caused further devastation.

17 million people have been pushed into severe hunger. Crop failures from both floods and extreme heat, combined with inflation and disrupted supply chains, only make the crisis worse. Malnutrition rates increased, especially among children under five and expectant mothers. Meanwhile, hosting millions of Afghan refugees has stretched Pakistan’s fragile humanitarian resources even further.

One Ummah’s Response

Despite the overwhelming crisis, you empowered One Ummah to rebuild hope for Pakistan. Our priority was to provide immediate, large-scale stabilisation while laying foundations for long-term recovery. Your support enabled a massive response to the most urgent needs: sustaining millions through essential food packs and hot meals as well as securing clean water for communities.

We also placed a high importance on medical projects; sponsoring patients, providing medicine to thousands, performing hundreds of cataract surgeries and upgrading a hospital. Beyond physical needs, we strengthened the Iman of thousands by building 15 Masajid *- , . Alhamdulillah. Cash aid and livelihood projects brought about self-reliance, and we protected orphans and widows as well as shielding families from the winter cold.

Sudan plunged into one of the world’s worst humanitarian emergencies during our 24/25 reporting period, as the war between rival armed forces shattered lives and destroyed livelihoods across the nation. The crisis left more than 24 million people facing acute food insecurity, with millions experiencing Emergency and Catastrophe levels of hunger. The conflict displaced over 11 million within Sudan’s borders, whilst forcing another two million to flee the country, creating the world’s largest displacement crisis. Tens of thousands were killed in combat, and the widespread collapse of essential services combined with severely restricted humanitarian access left families fighting for survival under the constant and growing threat of famine.

Throughout mid-2024, Bangladesh was devastated by widespread monsoon flooding, particularly in Sylhet, Sunamganj, and the northern districts, displacing hundreds of thousands and submerging vast swathes of critical farmland. Major rivers burst their banks, causing catastrophic damage to homes, schools, and health facilities, while severely disrupting livelihoods and contaminating water supplies. According to the Government of Bangladesh and humanitarian assessments, over 3 million people were affected, with many communities facing acute food insecurity and heightened risk of waterborne disease outbreaks. In response to this crisis, our teams prioritised immediate humanitarian needs, delivering urgent emergency assistance to the most vulnerable.

Over 250 million children worldwide are out of school. Conflict, displacement, and disaster have forced children out of classrooms, leaving them vulnerable to poverty, exploitation, and despair. Sub-Saharan Africa and Central/Southern Asia account for 188 million of the 250 million children out of school.

But these children are not just statistics. They are the future of our Ummah. Islam places immense value on education, and every child deserves the chance to learn critical skills to escape the cycle of poverty.

Education has a profound impact on generations to come. To deny a child education is to deny them dignity, opportunity, and the tools to rise above hardship. That’s why One Ummah has made education a cornerstone of our mission , working for over a decade to bring learning to crisis-hit nations where hope is scarce and classrooms are empty. We want to ensure that all children have the chance to go to school and become proficient in reading and writing as adults.

Building Houses of Allah

A Masjid stands as the beating heart of every Muslim community, where believers gather for prayer, children learn Qur’an, and families find refuge. Yet across the world, our brothers and sisters walk miles to reach the nearest place of worship, or worse, have no Masjid at all. In refugee camps, remote villages, and forgotten corners of the world, Muslims long for a space where they can prostrate before our Rabb in congregation.

Your Reward Multiplies with Every Prayer

The ripple effects extend beyond Salah. These Masajid serve as community centres during emergencies, shelters during disasters, and schools for the next generation. Through your ongoing support, we will continue building foundations for faith that will strengthen the Ummah for generations to come, Insha’Allah.

Each Masjid typically accommodates around 100–200 worshippers at a time, but serves as a community hub for surrounding villages and neighbourhoods. Across the year, the 43 Masajid constructed or rehabilitated supported an estimated 112,514 people through daily prayers, Jumu’ah, Qur’an classes, community gatherings, and emergency use – an average community reach of around 2,600 people per Masjid.

ORPHANS CHILDREN OF THE UMMAH

You sponsored 3,800 orphans throughout the past 12 months.

Orphans hold a sacred place in Islam.

The Qur’an commands us to care for them as our own, and Allah chose His final Messenger, an orphan himself, to remind us of their honour.

Neglecting orphans is a sign of disbelief:

“Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense? That is the one who drives away the orphan.” — [Surah Al-Ma’un: 1–2].

These are lives. These are children who deserve dignity, mercy, and a future.

Alhamdulillah, through your generosity and the Mercy of Allah, One Ummah sponsored 3,800 orphans in crisis-hit countries. We provided them with nutritious food, clean water, clothing, education, medical care and emotional support. Your sponsorship is more than just aid, it’s a lifeline, and a source of hope for a real future.

Orphans are our responsibility as Muslims. The future of the Ummah lies in their hands. We must continue to honour them, protect them, and raise them with love, for the sake of Allah and the legacy of his beloved Messenger.

Across the world, 153 million children live without the protection of

parents. 132 million of them are in poverty-stricken nations, where losing a parent often means losing access to food, shelter, safety, and love. 18 million have lost both parents. Every day, 5,700 more children are orphaned, and 15,000 children under five die, many without anyone to care for them. These are not just numbers.

“Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. Sahih Al-Bukhari

OBJECTS, STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

OUR LEGAL OBJECTS

One Ummah is an international humanitarian aid and development organisation.

In its previous incarnation, One Ummah Charity was established in 2013 and registered on 20th December 2013. A constitution governed it as an unincorporated association.

The charity was incorporated into a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (‘the new CIO’). The assets and liabilities belonging to the charity were transferred to the new CIO (effective from 2nd August 2016), and the charity formerly known as “One Ummah Charity” was renamed “One Ummah”. The charity ceased to operate on 31st December 2016 and was removed from the Register of Charities (‘the Register’). Since its registration, the new CIO has been known as “One Ummah” (1168565).

The Constitution defines One Ummah’s objects as being: a) To assist in the prevention or relief of poverty worldwide by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need, charities or other organisations working to prevent poverty.

b) The advancement of the Islamic religion for the benefit of the public in areas of poverty and hardship.

c) To advance education by providing financial or other assistance for the benefit of the public in areas of poverty and hardship.

d) To advance health by providing financial or other assistance, including medicines, hospitals, and other means, in each case, for the public benefit anywhere in the world.

TRUSTEES AND ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Board of Trustees (herein also called “Trustees” or “The Trustees”) directs and oversees One Ummah per its statutory obligations and policies. Focusing on strategic planning and governance, the Board also sets priorities and objectives to alleviate poverty and its underlying causes.

The Board of Trustees appraises the performance of the Senior Management Team (SMT) against both strategic and operational objectives through reports, meetings and other interventions as required. The Trustees also approve new policies and procedures.

When new trustees are appointed, they are given a formal induction to the work of One Ummah and provided with the information they need to fulfil their roles, which includes information about the part of trustees and Charity Law. New trustees are nominated by members of the Board of Trustees, interviewed by a panel of three trustees and appointed where they have the necessary skills to contribute to One Ummah management and development.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for One Ummah’s strategic direction, ensuring compliance and acting on behalf of the Trustees. The Senior Management Team (SMT) headed by the CEO is responsible for implementing the strategic and operational plan and the day-to-day management of One Ummah.

RISK MANAGEMENT

As part of the initial activity evaluation and implementation, all major undertakings undergo a risk assessment phase, where potential risks are identified, ranked, evaluated and mitigated.

Significant risks, for this purpose, are those that may have a considerable effect on:

The Trustees assess these risks regularly to ensure sufficient risk management procedures and systems are in place. Insurance coverage is obtained when deemed necessary.

The following framework is central to ensuring a valid risk assessment procedure:

100% DONATION POLICY

One Ummah operates a 100% donation policy. We highly value the trust of our supporters and assure you that every penny you generously donate is dedicated solely to the cause or project you have chosen to support. We will never allocate project funds towards administrative expenses, marketing efforts, or generating additional funds.

It is important to note that any unavoidable online transaction charges by third-party gateways are deducted before the donation reaches us.

An example of our 100% donation policy is if you give £100 towards school supplies, the entire £100 donation will go towards the school supplies and ensure they are received by the beneficiaries. Our donors can trust that One Ummah exercises complete diligence in how we allocate funds under the donors’ specific preferences and intentions.

One Ummah sources funding for administrative expenses from the following channels:

Admin Fund: A specific fund where donations can be made directly towards the administration costs.

Gift Aid: Any gift aid claimed on donations may be used for administration costs.

Textile Recycling: One Ummah maintains clothing banks where textiles are collected and recycled to raise funds.

Sponsors: We acquire sponsorship deals to increase the charity’s exposure and generate funds.

REPORTING PUBLIC BENEFIT

The Trustees confirm that they have read the Commission’s Guidance on Public Benefit (including PB1, PB2, PB3). One Ummah complies with the public benefit requirement under the Charities Act 2011. Our work only involves activities that advance our charitable goals and benefit the public. This can be seen in the many humanitarian activities highlighted in this report, e.g. emergency aid or education support, which helps people by saving lives, reducing poverty and providing means for educational advancement.

FINANCIAL REVIEW

During the year, the charity raised income of £24.4m (2024: £30.2m) and incurred expenditure £29.4m (2024: £27.2m). The carry forward reserves stand at £8.9m (2024: £13.8m) of which £8.3m (2024: £13.2m) relates to restricted funds and £571k (2024: £669k) relates to unrestricted general reserves. The reason for the high restricted funds at year-end (£8.3m) was due to the high level of donations received (£6.2m) in Ramadan prior to the end of the financial year. These funds will be spent in the following financial year.

RESERVE POLICY

One Ummah has a policy that sets the level of general reserves to meet our operating expenses in the event of a sudden drop in income or the incurring of unexpected expenditures. We constantly review this policy, assessing risks and reflecting on changes in factors such as income and our financial obligations and commitments. This assessment was carried out in 2023, and the current target level of reserves of six months of the core operational budget was deemed sufficient. These funds are held in contemporary and medium-term cash forms.

TRUSTEES’ RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

The Trustees are responsible for preparing an Annual Report and financial statements following applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards, including Financial Reporting Standard 102: The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).

The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give an accurate and fair view of the state of affairs of One Ummah and the incoming resources and their application for that period.

IN PREPARING THESE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, THE TRUSTEES’ RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

• State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements.

• Prepare the financial statements on an ongoing concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.

The Trustees are responsible for keeping sufficient accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of One Ummah and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of One Ummah and hence, for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

The Trustees are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the corporate and financial information on the One Ummah website. Legislation in the United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.

Basis for opinion

We conducted our audit in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (UK) (ISAs (UK)) and applicable law. Our responsibilities under those standards are further described in the Auditor's responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements section of our report. We are independent of the Charity in accordance with the ethical requirements that are relevant to our audit of financial statements in the UK, including the FRC's Ethical Standard and we have fulfilled our other ethical responsibilities in accordance with these requirements. Conclusions relating to going concern

In auditing the financial statements, we have concluded that the trustees use of the going concern basis of accounting in the preparation of the financial statements is appropriate.

Based on the work we have performed, we have not identified any material uncertainties relating to events or conditions that, individually or collectively, may cast significant doubt on the entity's ability to continue as a going concern for a period of at least 12 months from when the financial statements are authorised for issue.

Responsibilities of trustees

As explained more fully in the trustees' responsibilities statement set out in Schedule 1, the trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view, and for such internal control as the trustees determine is necessary to enable the preparation of financial statements that are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.

In preparing the financial statements, the trustees are responsible for assessing the company's ability to continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related to going concern and using the operations, or have no realistic alternative but to do so.

Auditor's responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements

Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor's report that includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance, but is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in accordance with ISAs (UK) will always detect a material misstatement when it exists.

Auditor’s responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements (cont.)

Irregularities, including fraud, are instances of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design procedures in line with our responsibilities, outlined above, to detect material misstatements in respect of irregularities, including fraud. The extent to which our procedures are capable of detecting irregularities, including fraud is detailed below:

We identified areas of laws and regulations that could reasonably be expected to have a material effect on the financial statements from our sector experience through discussion with the Officers and other management (as required by auditing standards).

We had regard to laws and regulations in areas that directly affect the financial statements including financial reporting and taxation legislation. We considered that extent of compliance with those laws and regulations as part of our procedures on the related financial statement items.

With the exception of any known or possible non-compliance, and as required by auditing standards, our work in respect of these was limited to enquiry of the Officers.

We communicated identified laws and regulations throughout our team and remained alert to any indications of non-compliance throughout the audit.

We addressed the risk of fraud through management override of controls, by testing the appropriateness of journal entries and other adjustments; assessing whether the judgements made in making accounting estimates are indicative of a potential bias; and evaluating the business rationale of any significant transactions that are unusual or outside the normal course of business.

1 Accounting policies

Basis of accounting

The financial statements of the charitable organisation, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 ' The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at cost or transaction values unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy note

The financial statements are prepared in sterling which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £1.

Going Concern

The trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future at the time of approving the financial statements. Thus the trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.

Turnover

Turnover represents all income to the charity, the majority of which is donations.

Income

All incoming resources are included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy and there is certainty of receipt.

Gift aid

Gift aid recoverable under the gift aid scheme is recognised where there is an entitlement, certainty of receipt and the amount can be measure with sufficient reliability. Where a claim for repayment of income tax has been or will be made, such income is included in the debtors amount if not received by the year end.

Expenditure

Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.

Tangible fixed assets

Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life:

Debtors

Trade and other debtors are recognised at the settlement amount due and prepayments are valued at the amounts prepaid.

Creditors

Creditors are recognised where the charity has a present obligation resulting from a past event that will probably result in the transfer of funds to a third party and the amount due to settle the obligation can be measured or estimated reliably. Creditors are normally recognised at their settlement amount after allowing for any trade discounts.

Taxation

The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.

Value added tax is not recoverable by the charity and as such is included in the relevant costs in the statement of financial activities.

Critical accounting estimates and judgement

Estimates and judgements are continually evaluated and are based on historical experience and other factors, including expectations of future events that are believed to be reasonable under the circumstances. The charity makes estimates and assumptions concerning the future. Depreciation is calculated based on the estimated expected useful life of the assets and reviewed annually to confirm basis it still appropriate.

The resulting accounting estimates and assumptions will, by definition, seldom equal the related actual results.

Fund accounting

Unrestricted general funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees and which have not been designated for other purposes. Restricted funds can be only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.

Volunteers

The value of services provided by the volunteers is difficult to put a monetary value on and therefore has not been included in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS102).

Pension Costs

The charity operates a defined contribution scheme.

education, and long-term development opportunities.
Global Food Aid Provides regular and emergency food assistance to food-insecure families,
reducing malnutrition and supporting household coping capacities.
Global Orphan Fund Ensures orphaned children access consistent care, education, and emotional
support, helping them develop securely and confidently.
Homes Funds the construction and rehabilitation of safe, dignified housing for families
living in inadequate or damaged shelters.
Lebanon Supports relief efforts and development projects aimed at addressing socio-
economic hardship and improving access to essential services in Lebanon.
Masjid Funds the construction and maintenance of mosques, supporting spiritual,
social, and educational functions within local communities.
Medical Provides access to healthcare through medical treatments, surgeries, supplies,
and initiatives that strengthen local health systems.
Morocco Delivers emergency assistance and early recovery support to communities
affected by crises in Morocco, helping them rebuild and regain stability.
Orphans Provides long-term support for orphaned children, ensuring their educational,
emotional, and financial needs are consistently met.
Pakistan Supports humanitarian aid and community-led development programmes aimed
at enhancing resilience and improving living conditions in Pakistan.
PGA Provides life-saving humanitarian relief and essential development support to
communities in Palestine and Gaza facing conflict, displacement, and chronic
