Structurn, governance and management
The method of appointment of PCC members is set out in the Church RepreSentat￿)n Rules. At the
Bewsborough Parish the membership of the PCC consists of elected members of the five churches
seconded to the PCC.
The Local Church Council {LCC) of each church is responsible for making decisions on all matters
appertaining to their Maintenan￿ and management and fiJrKling.
The PCC is responsible for overseeing each LCC and to seek a healthy balance between the
identity of each district church and the unity tefvleen the churthes as one body. to the end:

(a) that people, clergy and laity alike. may best be enabled to grow in personal faith in the
setting of the fell0v￿hip. and
(b) that the solidarty between the churches may present the most effective witness, ministry
and mission in relation to the vthole communities of ￿l￿11r￿ld, Shepherdswell. Eythorne,
Elvington, Waldershare. Cokjred and Barfrestone; and in covenant with the Dover and
Deal meth￿1￿$t Circuit", and in cooperation with the churches of other denominatDns.
This would be worked out in:
Worshi
By respecting the particular traditions of eath worshipping ￿Mmunrty. And offering
vibrant, varied worship as we both ￿lebrate the traditions of the chuch but explore
other opportunities for worship.
By Recognising that in addition to the shared ministry of the clergy, readers and
authorized lay ministers arKI all members of the body of Christ are potential ministers.
Their gifts should be discovered, devebped and shared. Pastoral ministry needs to
be exercised by lay people where they live. work andlor according to their particular
giftings.
By sharing the costs of joint projects (where these have been agreed by th& LCC and
the PCC), clergy expenses and suth resources of paid workers or equpment should
be held in common, and by enc￿ragirwj each church lo administer its own finan￿S.

8nd offering of places where people can bek)NJ and be nurtured. creating and sustaining
community connections and relationships.
Ihnien planning actNttles, the Incumbent and PCC have considered the Charity Commissions

pages 4 to 7
As Trustees of the charity, the members of PCC are responsib￿ for the preparation of
the accounts. They consider that an audit not required for this year under Section
144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination
is needed.
It 18 my responsibility to
examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 Act),
follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charty
Commissioners section 145(5){b) of the 2011 Act, and
state whether particular matters have (x)me to my attention.
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the
Charity Commission. An examination includes a rev*w of the accounting records kept
by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented wrth those records. It also
includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking
explanations from the management committee concerning any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the eviden￿ Ihat woukl be required ina full
audFt, and consequently I do not exptess an audit opinion on the accounts.
In connection with my examination, no mattel has c(xne to my attention:
