Objectives The objects of the Friends ol the Church ol Sl Hubert's Idsworth Tru51 are.. For the benefit of the public lo help mainlaln, repair, restore, preserve, improve and enhance Ihe fabric ol the church ol Sl Hutkrt Idsworth. as a place of Christian worship for the local area, and a venue of cholce for sacred and secular events for ￿ l%nefit of the videsl p)ssibl8 community. To advance education of the public in the heritage of church and lh8 local area by providing information on ils history and archit￿lure. Achievements & Performan A Trustee ol the Friends of Sl HutErts. Mr Simon Hartlèy, sets out below Ihe achievemants of the past year 2023. In May 2023 there was a Teas and Relreshmenls galherlng al Sl Hubert using our newty acquired marquee. The Dr¢fthod Troubadours provided an entertaining support with their music. Ben and Katie of the SDNP gave an excellent lalk on the area. All contributions ￿nt lowards funds lor the conservallon of St Hvberts. In July 2023 therè was a repeal of the very F)opular Musical PicnSc held in the SUTTounding fields of Sl Huberts . We were blessed wlh perfect weather conditions for the picn1¢ teas in the afternoon and a beautiful sunset evening showing the surroundlng hillsides and Sl Hubert5 al their best. The group Empty Frets entertained the gathering of over 200 guests from the surrounding area as far as Portsmouth and Pelersfield.11 vrds a mo81 enjoyable aftemcon and evening and the proceeds ol the event lolalled circa £2,000 for the tenefil of the conservation of Sl Huberts. In September 2023 there was a return of the 3 day Art Exhibition supportèd by a marquee facility along the south side of the church. The sale of art work from over 30 artists together wth sales from refreshments, donations and a raffle helFed raise clrca £3.000 towards the conseNalSon of Sl Huterts. We are also gralefijl lo the supp)rt of the Rowlands Castle W.1. who supported us over the weekend. A big thanks g￿S lo all those who contributed their lime in oiganising and assisting on these events. The Friends have suppjrted the considerable conseThalion works on Sl Huberts organI￿d by the churchwarden resrxjnsible for buildings, John Bannell. Phase 1A Porch repairs Phase 1 B Drainage guttèring and works to feduce exterior and interior damp conditions of the building.

These assets wll continu8 lo be invested for t￿ lontrierm fof the trEnafil of Sl HulRrts. There have teen significant changes in the group of Tfuslees during 2023. Andrew Callender has stepped down as Ch3irman I prewousty secrelaryl after many years ol strong *dership and commitment to Sl Huberts cause. He has created a strong leam and vras the fIgure￿ad ol the Ituslees in all events and an excellent communicator lo the outside world successfully encouraging Iheir support. He will be missed. We all wish Andrew and Nicola tssl wshes and a big thank you from all of us. Mike Driver also slepred d)wn as Iruslee and Vfas a great SUPFQrt in all tyjilding matters. As an Architect he alwayB gavè us sound ILKlgement on difficult building issue5 and fund applications. His expertise in erecling a sizab18 marquee wll te missed. A big thank you lo Mike and Susle for their continued support thich is most apprech8iea. A warm V￿rtorne to Wendy Kennedy who has joined the Friends as a Iruslee in 2023. Wendy needs no inlroductson as 8 long serving membèr ol the ministry. We ￿lCoMe her invc4vement with the Friends. and with the PCC. together we 11 be able to continue suppJrting thè conseNalion of Sl Huberts for th8 congregation and the wider community. Policy on Reserves The policy on Reserves is unchanggj from previous years and is sel out below.. The Trust wll opèrate Reserves.. Operating Reserve with the objective lo set aside 3 years of expenditure lo cover the ongoing costs of Ihe Tfust (excluding expenditure for fund raising events) in th8 event of a significanl108s of Tevenue. Matched Funds Rese(ve lo set aside fijnds to cover matched funding obligations from existing grants plus such lurKIs as the trust￿5 deem appropriate towards matched funding Iof lutuie grant applications. The funds will be commingled with the general cash of the Trust. Use of Ihe funds wll be by application lo the Chair and approved by a malority of the Tfuslees. The main exrendilure relates lo giant paid to Sl Hubert's PCC 1£12.011). Th8 unrealised loss on our inveslmenls decreased by £20.191 to £5,104.
