|**Summary of the main activities in relation to**<br>**those purposes for the public benefit**|In person meetings, seminars and conferences, plus<br>online information, resources and toolkits made available<br>via our website, email newsletter, audio Podcast and<br>other digital media. JSCN also attends the meetings of<br>various community organisations to represent and<br>advocate for the views of our communities.|

|**Contribution made by volunteers**|Volunteers have continued to contribute towards raising<br>awareness of JSCN and with the development of the<br>heritage project. This was with the support of existing 8<br>volunteers, no new volunteers were recruited in the<br>period.|
|**Achievement and Performance**|JSCN had a successful year, despite the pandemic.<br>Engagement with individuals and communities increased<br>further, building on the previous year’s success. Our<br>various projects concluded with equally high degrees of<br>success, and we broke new ground with our first national<br>event. We established strong network and working<br>connections with similar organisations and community<br>professionals, in the UK and internationally. And we<br>made great strides in structuring our organisation and<br>establishing a path to build its capacity.<br>Our benefactors donated again this year, some without<br>being approached.<br>Our supporters responded to an appeal ensuring that we<br>received a grant from the Ecclesiastical insurance<br>company.<br>We succeeded in gaining Lottery/HMGov Covid<br>Emergency funding.|

|**Achievements and performance (continued)**|We completed our Heritage project Connecting<br>Small Histories, which had majority support from<br>National Lottery Heritage Fund. It received a<br>glowing evaluation report and excellent feedback<br>from Heritage Fund.<br>JSCN’s Director took part in various UK and<br>international events.<br>These included the JCC Global seminar series…<br>Global Tapestry and PROCON the biannual<br>conference of Jewish Community Centres.<br>He also participated in a number of training events,<br>with the aim of developing the structures and<br>capacity building on JSCN.<br>We received financial support for prof development<br>from YESOD to attend training<br>seminars… Theory of Change, Strategy, Bid<br>Writing, Fundraising.<br>ONE Shabbat. 3,500 people took part in the first<br>national event that JSCN has organised. They<br>came together through different types of events,<br>held over Shabbat 4th& 5thSeptember 2021.<br>Goodie bags, to enhance the Shabbat dinner table,<br>were distributed by post to individuals and in bulk<br>via communities. A musical Kabbalat Shabbat<br>service took place online, as did a Havdalah<br>service live form Israel.<br>During Shabbat, ONE Shabbat themed sermons<br>and kiddushim were organised by communities.<br>The cost of packs, printing and postage was<br>supported by sponsorship from several<br>organisations. Unsolicited feedback and responses<br>to an evaluation survey reported a very high<br>satisfaction rate. 100% said they would<br>recommend that friends and family take part in<br>future ONE Shabbat events.<br>All Jewish religious denominations publicly<br>supported ONE Shabbat.|

**On accounts for the year ended** 30[th] September 2021 which are set out on pages 6 – 7. **Charity number: 1168499** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30[th] September 2021. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of the report** 

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

• the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or 

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
