Throughout the year we provided 16 hours of faErily support per week, including holding four community support
groups per rnonlh 3cross two localions whilst ensuring conlinuily of cafe between the ward and commiinily
settings. These Family Support Groups included special sessions encompassing Baby First Aid Training for
family niembers of babies discharged home, baby massage and cralls sessions based aroLind seasonal
holidays. In addilion, Ilie Chafily has conlinued Ouf expanded Fan)Ily Support services by fundin9 private
counselling and therapy foi parenls of babies (lischargid from 117e neonalal unil who svffer IrorTI Iiienlal Iieallh
condilions such as trauma, PTSD, separalion anxiety. and who may struggle Its bond wilh their babies We
provided additional support for a family suffering from Ihe bereavement of their baby who was born wlh a life-
limiting condition by attendance 81 Ihe baby's funeral and providing Ihe gift of a memory bear whitih could be
made from Ilie babies ¢lolhes.

supported wlh the provision ol small items, donated bonding hearls crafted by BIBS supporters and awareness

hosted for current parents on the ward and an awareness raising stall in the loyer of the main hospital building

In Ihe autumn of 2024 an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Praclilioner was funded 10 atlend a U NICEF Baby Friendly
Conference, The licenre for a package of UNICEF Baby Friendly e-le8rning for paediatricians was also
purchased and accessed by over 48 members of Staff including paedialricians, junior doctors, obstetric SHOS,
and infant feeding specialisls.
Finally our CEO was invited lo present ali award for Compassion in Care al the Royal eerkshire NHS
Foundation Trus15 annLial CARE awaTds ceremony lor slall wl)o have gone Ihe exlra ryiile or conducled
ouislanding work for the NHS BIBS was especially pleased to present the award lo a membef of the Buscol
nurslng team.

After making appropriale enquiries, the Truslees have a reasonable expeclalion that the Charily has adequale
resources lo conliiiLie in operalional existence for the loreseeable ftilure. For Ihis reason, they continue lo adopt
the going concern b8sis in preparing the financial slalernenls. Further delails regarding the adoption of the
going concern basis can be found in the accounting policies.
