leadeT5hip of the staff at the Museum.
In late 2023 Nick Watt stood as thwr, a pos￿7 he hekl Sin￿ 2￿20. We are grateful for his
stewardship, parttcularty nawgth'ng through the challenges of the Covid pandemic. He ha8 agreed lo
rem8in 09 a Trustee for now After dua Èwocegs David Colihup Wds 818Cted as chair. He is al80
Chairman of the Green Howrdrd5 A55ociab'on and Reprvswrtatrve Colonel for the Regiment, %thlch is
an added benefit when looking at how the Try￿1 synergises rts strategy go￿9 forwards.
Two other Trustees have opted to sland down sI￿e the last report. Sincère thanks are recorded for
the individual and collective dedication over many years from Mrs Bddget Thomton-Bery and Mr Pete
Benni80n.
Perhapj the big9est change in the year was the depar￿re after almost 15 years of the Director of th
Museum, Ms Lynda Powell. Her ba¢kground of museum curation ha8 over that time Iran5fomed how

2023 saw the restart ol museum's Leamww Prooramme. *ilh a signfficanl irKrease in Inte￿$1 from
6chools and •ducation81 organisth'ons since the Covid-19 pandemK. 5 Museum-led V•x>rkshops were
dèlivered, engagiw a totsl of 141 p•ople. Museum staff also featured on the BBC Bf(esize
Career8 pand at Rlchmond Sthool, engaging a fvrth•r 862 younq people about working life and
working in museums. 01 th8 6 total évents. 4 delivere(I to Primary Schools and 2 delivered to

Due to rising costs, a dedsbn was made by the trusl to Incr￿Se the price for admlssion. This led lo
an increase in Incor￿ from adml88ion. The M￿￿M ¢￿tInUed to collaborativety with the other
tourist attraGlions in Richmond by taing part in the Town Ticket scheme and producing map¥ and

In 2023 the museum cdebrnted 50 yearn of t*ing In its current l¢Jckn"on in Trinty Church Square. As
part of the celebralions and wrth help of the Friends of the Green Hlhvards Musewn, a fundraising
campaign was set up to raise money tthvarfs the refijrbishmerrt of the Nomanby Room
£7 976.50 was raised by the Friends. wllh a furfher £3.107.00 coming from the Green Howards
Association, and £1.826.50 from funernl donations. thrk began on the Slonewofk In the Nomianby
Room in the summer and wll be corr￿ed in January 2024.
