Purpose / Charitable objects
The objects of the association are to advance the education of the pupils of the Harris Primary Academy Kent House (hereafter “The Academy”).
By providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the academy (not normally provided by the department for education) and as an ancillary thereto and in furtherance of this object the association may:- a) foster more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the academy; and b) engage in activities which support the academy and advance the education of the pupils attending it.
All monies raised by the PTA are intended to provide ‘extras’ not already provided by the school’s main income. This often includes ‘fun things’; that make learning more interesting and exciting.
Organisation and governance
Members - All parents/carers and teachers at Kent House are members of the Kent House PTA.
The Committee – The PTA holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM), generally at the end of the school year. The committee comprises A chair, a treasurer, a secretary..
The Committee & PTA are governed by the Constitution from 2016.
2025 in review:
We said goodbye to Karen Delahoy who was previously Treasurer. We gave thanks for Karen’s positive outlook and can-do attitude.
There were a healthy number of KHPTA committee meetings held and this year we held an AGM with good attendance, lots of ideas, mostly around after school clubs, shade, shelter and playground furniture for the field/playground. The Trustees Annual Reports for 2024 was filed (5 days late) due to handover to the new treasurer.
The Vice Principal Alexa Acakiryan continued to champion the PTA and her support was so appreciated, and we were lucky enough to meet one of the School Governors, Jane Mines, who has supported the PTA at bake sales and numerous events. The Fun Run was a huge success and gave our funds and playground plans a much needed boost. The committee would like to thank all the teaching staff who helped at the Summer Fair- we couldn’t have done it without them The PTA also held regular treat/bake sales and worked to mobilise further interest in the PTA but once again were unable to hold a Winter Offering due to timings, we have high hopes for 2026.

Financial review
Our financial period has changed from 1st January - 31st December to match the academic year. So the report covers only part of 2025 (1st January-31st August). 2026’s accounts and TAR will be our first full year 1st September -31st August on this new accounting period.
Closing Bank Balance (31/8/25): £6243.09 Petty Cash in hand (31/8/25): £25.00 Total Income: £5,813.66 Total Expenditure: £1,890.24 Total Profit: £3923.24
It is worth noting that £2,722.66 of this profit was pledged to playground equipment. TBA with school.
Revenue was generated by holding pre-loved uniform and bake/treat/ice pole sales, non-uniform days and a fun run and our Summer Fair.
Expenditure was used in school as follows:
We were delighted to continue to support the Forest School to the cost of £112.65, 2 pop-up Gazebos £180, Year 6 Leavers celebrations £208.99. As per our previous 2 AGMs we worked hard to gather funds for Playground Equipment. There were, of course, running costs (ParentKind & Stock for Sales).
Thanks
Thanks to all parents and carers, committee members and teaching staff who give their time and effort to help raise funds for the school and support our events.
