Purpose / Charitable objects
The objects of the association are to advance the education of the pupils of the Harris Primary Academy Kent House (hereafter “The Academy”).
By providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the academy (not normally provided by the department for education) and as an ancillary thereto and in furtherance of this object the association may:- a) foster more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the academy; and b) engage in activities which support the academy and advance the education of the pupils attending it.
All monies raised by the PTA are intended to provide ‘extras’ not already provided by the school’s main income. This often includes ‘fun things’; that make learning more interesting and exciting.
Organisation and governance
Members - All parents/carers and teachers at Kent House are members of the Kent House PTA. The Committee – The PTA holds a Annual General Meeting (AGM), generally at the end of the school year. The committee comprises A chair, a treasurer, a secretary and ordinary committee members made up of 2 parents. The Vice Principal, Dan Hall was voted as President. The Committee & PTA are governed by the Constitution from 2015.
2023 in review:
The same candidates continued to run the PTA Committee.
There are still administrative loose ends to tie up and work continues on this.
There were some KHPTA committee meetings held however no AGM took place as Dan Hall left the school.
The committee worked hard throughout 2023 planning a Summer Fair which was well received by all. The committee also held regular treat/bake sales and worked to mobilise the school community following Covid.
Sophie Lazar from the previous committee removed herself from the Charities Commission website and added the new and current Trustees, as below.

Financial review Closing Bank Balance (31/12/23): £1,261.97 Total Income: £1,394.10 Total Expenditure: £1325.02 Total Profit: £69.08
Revenue was generated by holding pre-loved uniform and bake/treat sales and a Summer Fair.
Expenditure was used in school as follows: £500 to redecorate and improve the Lunch Hall and to purchase 30 sets of headphones for the Computer Room. Running costs (Parent Kind & Stock for Sale).
The committee completed mandate forms to obtain control of the Bank account at Barclays. Barclays required more information but this wasn’t relayed so work on this will continue into 2024.
