Purpose / Charitable objects
The objects of the association are to advance the education of the pupils of the Harris Primary Academy Kent House (hereafter “The Academy”).
By providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the academy (not normally provided by the department for education) and as an ancillary thereto and in furtherance of this object the association may:- a) foster more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the academy; and b) engage in activities which support the academy and advance the education of the pupils attending it.
Organisation and governance
Members - All parents/carers and teachers at Kent House are members of the Kent House PTA. The Committee – The PTA holds a Annual General Meeting (AGM), generally at the end of the school year. At the AGM it was agreed to run the Committee with a reduced formation, as follows: A chair, a treasurer, a secretary and ordinary committee members made up of 2 parents. The Vice Principal, Dan Hall was voted as President.
The year in review:
The last HPAKH PTA committee meeting was held on 10th September 2020, due to Covid the PTA broke down and was restarted by new members 9[th] December 2022. The meeting was led by Dan Hall, Vice Principal and PTA Link Teacher.
Elections happened and 11 parents self-nominated in advance of the AGM. 5 parents attended AGM in person, no apologies received from absentees. The following candidates self-nominated and were duly elected to post. All results were unanimous:
Chair Gabby Boyle, Treasurer Karen Delahoy, Secretary Lucy Cooke, Committee Members Simone Kippins, Aoife McGloin.
Class Reps were discussed and plans for the coming year were drafted, the plan for 2023 was to continue with regular sales and to tidy up the administrative loose ends left from Covid.
Financial review Closing Bank Balance (31/12/22): £1,153.00 Total Income: £233.46 Total Expenditure: £183.00 Total Profit: £50.46
All revenue was from pre-loved uniform and bake/treat sales.
Expenditure was down to running costs (Parent Kind) & donation to school project.
