## **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**

The advancement of the christian faith in accordance with the doctrinal basis primarily (but not exclusively) by training, equipping and supporting women involved in Grace Baptist Churches.

## **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

The main focus of the GBWA is an annual conference during which women receive bible teaching, relaxation and opportunities for friendship.

A magazine is produced twice a year providing a platform for women to share stories and testimonies for mutual encouragement.

We have a website and facebook page to keep women informed of upcoming events, and again provide opportunities for teaching and sharing encouragements.

A friendship Link enables women who might be lonely, to receive written correspondence from a fellow christian woman (like a pen-pal)

A Need Fund provides financial help to women who might otherwise struggle to afford to attend the conference, and seeks to meet other financial needs on an individual basis.

The GBWA also seeks to support a nominated charity each year, either in the UK or abroad, whose aims are in line with ours.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

## Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

We continue to encourage each district to create opportunities for teaching and fellowship in the local areas. Some areas are well established and have regular committee meetings and conferences. Other areas need support in creating these opportunities. A day conference was held in Tring in November 2021. Eighty ladies attended in person. The conference was also livestreamed.

A weekend conference is planned for November 2022 at High Leigh Conference Centre. Helen Thorn is speaking on the subject of ‘Hope in an anxious world’. A number of seminars and workshops are also being planned.

The Sharing magazine continues to be well received and contains good representation from women in all walks of life. We continue to support Noor Ministries as our designated charity, and due to coronavirus have decided to extend our period of support as many opportunities to donate have been lost through cancellation of meetings and conferences throughout the pandemic.
