TAR
July 2024

The organisation aims to provide a safe. fully equipped, welcoming
location, predominately but not exclusively for older members of the
communrty who live in Colden Common and the surrounding villages.
Our aim is to offer somewhere to meet, take part in workshop activities if
so desired. but more importantly to socialise and overcome possible
isolation of the members.
Activities are aimed at both the personal projects of members, but more
predominately at group projects to produce items either for sale to
support local funds, or for local groups such as the local Primary School,
local playgroups. churches and the local Community Association.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the

Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the chaiity
during the year
This year has been one of finally getting past the Covid period, which
took its toll on both mernbership and wellbeing. We welcomed three new
member& one of whom is recovering from a stroke and finds the
comradeship a welcome change.
The Shed continues to support our local organizations, such as the village
panty and hamper scheme, while helping with community members,
requests to make items for them. Sadly. this year w¢ did not get a day at
the Winchester Cathedral MarkeL so our income stream was down a little.
However, we did support the Easter and Christmas fayres within our
village. The range of items we offer always has something new as we
strive to provide good quality wocthn items for sale.
Both local churches (Twyford and Colden Common) receive help and
donations throughout the year. The junior school and play groups also
benefit as we strive to be proactive in helping them.
All of the equipment purchased last year has been used to good effecL and
we are exploring increasing our range with the purchase of a laser cutter
printer, which we hope can help offer more services to the community.
General maintenance continues with additional reproofing of the
structure.
On the social side, trips to the Didcot Railway Museum proved to be very
popular, as was the trip to the Air Museum at Tangmere. There is also a
very active gin rummy card school. Other activities have included BBQ&
and quiet days. All of our trips are offered to anyone from the village to
join us.
