servi￿ throUgh￿t the year were similar to 2023 - Mothan'ng Sunday, Palm
Sunday, G￿d Friday, Easter Sunday - all skn'll as a church within the Pa￿ Team of
three churches (St Peter's, St Paul's. St Philip's). On 2V February the Team Rector
(Rev Clive Doran) moved to WAgan Deanery, and on 1$¢ May 2024 Church St Helen8
came into being - St Peter's being one of seven churches not joining. and therefore
the Parr Team was no more. Of the seven churches St Peter's was the only church
not assigned a Minister, and so we had to organise our sepd'ces and call on
other ministers (some retired) to preside at Holy Communion 8ervices and conduct
pastoral services (weddings, bapb'sms. ￿nerals> along With our own Reader (PTO)
supported by other Re8dery& known to St Peter's many years, arKI a very
supportivo congregation.
As in 2023 at the end of June we hekl our annual Grti Day service, and once again in
September took part in the Heritage Open Days, with the information displayed on
Ihese days also displayed in November at our R8membr8nce Day Service. All
donations (monetary 8nd food etc) given 8t I￿r Har¥est Service onc8 again went to a
local food bank, and ￿ held our Mem￿181 Service at Advent, the Carol Service (with
Parr Band) in December. I￿re all our Chnstmas serrficés. During the latter part of
the year we also held a fundraising ev8nt on the History of Parr. and a fundraising
CA)nc4Jrt with Parr Barn*
Our Busy Bees (mums and tot8) o)nts'nues on a weekty basis. as does the VK*llbeing
Men's Meeting, the WÈrni Space lunches, and monthly Coffee Moming8.
During 2024 we welcom8d into our church several refugee familF88, helping one of
them from Iran to overcome the English language whilst following a course to tske
them on to baptism and confirmation.
Our steeple is still in need of repairlrebuild, and we continue to struggle to raise
enough money to do this (total ￿st around £500,000). and we stsll at the end of 2024
are struggling to advertise for a new minister- 0.4 stipend or hou8e-for4uty. This
we hope will come io fruition 8t the beginning of 2025.
