The Hummingbird Foundation exists to enable disadvantaged children in Jamaica access an education with a focus on digital literacy.
Objects: "The Objects Of The CIO Are, For The Public Benefit:1) To Advance The Education, (Including Social And Physical Training) Of People Under The Age Of 25 Years In Jamaica In Such Ways As The Charity Trustees See Fit, Including By:a) Awarding To Such Persons Scholarships, Maintenance Allowances Or Grants Tenable At Any Educational Establishment.b) Providing Their Education (Including The Study Of Music Or Arts), To Undertake Travel In Furtherance Of That Education Or To Prepare For Entry To Any Occupation, Trade Or Profession On Leaving That Educational Establishment.c) Providing Premises Or Improving Current Infrastructures To Enable An Education To Be Delivered To Such Persons.2) To Advance In Life And Help Young People In Jamaica By The Provision Of Recreational And Leisure Time Activities Provided In The Interest Of Social Welfare, Designed To Improve Their Conditions Of Life.3) The Relief Of Sickness And The Preservation Of Health Among People Residing Permanently Or Temporarily In Jamaica Through The Provision Of Financial Assistance, Support, Education And Practical Advice.4) The Prevention Or Relief Of Poverty Or Financial Hardship In Jamaica By:a) Providing Grants, Items And Services To Individuals In Need.b) Providing Or Assisting In The Provision Of Education, Training, Healthcare Projects And All The Necessary Support Designed To Enable Individuals To Generate A Sustainable Income And Be Self Sufficient."
