The Quba Islamic and Cultural Centre offers congregational prayer five times daily, in addition to the Friday prayers and Tarawih prayers during the sacred month of Ramadan. Led by our Imams and attended by a diverse group of residents from the surrounding area. This makes a substantial contribution to the local community's ability to fulfil its religious obligations.

## **Ramadan:**

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims worldwide observe a fast from sunrise to twilight. The Holy month of Ramadan is our busiest time of the year, as a result of the numerous individuals who take time off work. Consequently, they visit the masjid more frequently to worship and reflect. This month also marks the revelation of the Quran. In the midst of the most sacrosanct nights of the Holy month of Ramadan, the last ten nights, we facilitate the Tarawih prayers (Night Prayers). These prayers also include Islamic reminders from our Imam. During this time, our centre encounters a significant increase in the number of participants. In response, we have implemented additional activities that are specifically designed to meet the needs of the participants, thereby enhancing the overall experience. The Centre provides the entire congregation with food and beverages to break their fasts (Iftar).

## **Festivals:**

Our congregation commemorates the Islamic festival of Eid twice annually. These are Eid Al-Fitr, which occurs at the conclusion of Ramadan, and Eid Al-Adha, which occurs following the observance of the Hajj. Each family departs in the early morning to attend the congregational Eid prayer, as these two events are religious festive days for us. Birmingham's collective EID-Celebration includes our Centre. This invocation is performed outdoors in accordance with the prophetic tradition. Those who participate in this religious excursion experience pleasure in the presence of the sun, fresh air, and lush greenery. Immediately following Eid Salah, children participate in a daylong celebration of Eid in the open space of Small Heath Park.

## **Regular Classes:**

We conduct regular courses and circles on both weekends and midweek. We offer supplementary educational programs and juvenile activities. The primary objective of the circles is to facilitate Islamic Studies and to study and understand the Quran. This program consists of a brief lecture on key themes by the key speaker, followed by an explanation and recitation of the Quran in a small group for both adults and children. The Centre also extends invitations to numerous lecturers to deliver informative presentations on a diverse array of subjects, with the aim of reinvigorating the Muslim community's enthusiasm for Islamic learning and practice.

## **Youth lectures and activities:**

At Quba Centre, we prioritise the future generations of our community, as we regard them as the future of our community. Our objective is to employ our sacred Islamic teachings as instruments to make a positive impact on the world in the future. We have prioritised the support of our youth with the primary objective of addressing the underlying issues that impede their development.

Youth events, such as youth nights, are organised by the canter to address the social, educational, emotional, and physical requirements of the youth in our community by providing them with a space to engage in activities. We offer interactive workshops, discussions, quizzes, reminders, video games, and table tennis during youth evenings, in addition to providing them with food and beverages. We occasionally provide football and swimming.

## **Annual**

**conferences.**

The Quba Islamic and Cultural Centre has recently initiated its annual conferences. The initial conference was held during the summer holidays, while the subsequent conference was held during the winter holidays. The primary objective was to instruct the youth and children in the development of their personal understanding of the authentic Islam and to impart a variety of life skills.

**Family Advice:** In addition, our imams provide a variety of services to

**Independent examiner's report on the accounts Section A Independent Examiner’s Report** ~~Ee~~ **Report to the trustees/ QUBA ISLAMIC & CULTURAL CENTRE members of** me ~~ee~~ **On accounts for the year** 5/4/2024 **Charity no 1168254 ended (if any)** ~~eeee ee~~ **Set out on pages** (remember to include the page numbers of additional sheets) ~~PO~~ **Respective** The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. **responsibilities of** The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year **trustees and examiner** under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to:

- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,

- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

**Basis of independent** My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given **examiner’s statement** by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and

consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

**Independent** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention **examiner's statement** which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:

   - to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and

   - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act

   - have not been met; or
