standing within the local community. No formal training was given. The Irustees of Ihe charity, who are
also directors of the company were S.A Haigh, A.C Dening, and S.E Mackenzie-Green.

ad sales. on a self-employed basis.

The company has no issued share capital and is limited by guarantee of ils members. Each member

The charitable purposas ol Radio Ninespnngs are to advance Ihe educalional and training ol Ine
inhabitants of Yeovil and district of South Somerset in radio production, broadcasting and media skills
lechniques. The company was formed on 15 Aprll 2013 as a Communily Interest Company under Ihe
name of Radio Yeovil Community Interest Company. The company registration number is 08488902. The
company Changod its name to Radio Ninesprings on 29 April 2016 and changed its status to a company
limiled by gU8ranlee and 15 governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association. Rogislralion as a
charity was obtained on 15 July 2016, reglstration number 1168243.
The trustees have paid due fegard lo thg guidance given by the Charity Commission on public benefit
when deciding what aclivilies the charity should undertake.

23 volunteers are currontly registered with Radio Ninesprings. Volunleors 8ro engaged in a variety
of tasks including podcasting, DJ and presentation work, social media produclion, IT. and
community nèwsgalherfng.
Resume of the Year:
May 2024 to April 2025
WG enjoyed anothor succosslul yoar providing listeners with a service of enlert8inmenl. discussion, local news and
community informalion. We reportod on major flood ovonls in Quoon Camol, North Cadbury and Mudlord in which poople
had to leave their homes. InleNiews wilh residents. Ihe emergency services and local council were broadcasl, logelher with
signposting lo whero help was available. Radio Ninesprings is a 'walk-in and talk, slalion, and people came lo our studio lo
talk aboul issues of concem. For example, debates look place aboul the Yeovil Refresh Project and closing Iha Ocla9on
Theatre. Publicily was given to events and lo fund raising appeals. To mark the 80th anniversary of ViGlory in Europe Day,
inteNiews were recorded with people about VE Day in 1945. The national VE Day Proclamation, readTrouI by Yeovil's Town
Crier in The Borough in Yeovil, was broadcasl. Our volunteers devoled enomious amounts lime to Radio Ninespnngs, with
some engaging in olhor volunteering foles, supporting the local community. For examplo, Ihe Presenter of our'communily
News,, Pippa Hamilton, worked as a volun16er driver with the British Red Cross. Two new Presenters joined Ihe slalion. Julie
Haylock to present 'From the Polling Shed, _ a wookly gardening feature and Gemma Portor to present 'From the Pross Box,
a weekly round-up of news from Yeovil Town FC. Both were given radio skills Iraining and passed with flying coloursl Our
studio was out of action lor sevèral weeks due lo a llood evenl. caused by a third parly. Production and presentation was
transferred lo Ihe homo studios of volunteers. The 'on airf output was not impacted. We worked in parlnership with Somerset
Jobs lo stage Jobs Fairs in Yeovil. We worked with 'Yeovil Togelher, lo promote a mulli-cullural event. With th8 station car,
we took part in camival processions in Chard, Ilminsler, South Petherton and Wincanton. Outside broadcasts were held at
Yeovil Sleam Rally. the Gurt Gathering and Yeovil Christmas Lights Swilch-on. A Repair Shop was opened in Yeovil with our
help. Community magazines conlinued lo submit news stori8s and local infomialion. The sharing of broadcast malerial wilh
BBC Radio Somersel and other Somerset CR slalions continued. Digital engagement continued to grow, with evidence
that greater numbers of people now listen lo Radio Ninesprings online and via smart speakers. Advertising income was
slightly down during the period May 2024 to April 2025, bul the st81ion remained viable and mot its financial commitments
Results and Future Developments in the Business of the Company; Ofcom has awarded Radio Ninesprings an
SSDAB licence to cover Yeovil and South Somersel. We're now seeking funding to buy a DAB + transmitter. Two new local
radio services lo run on our SSDAB are in development. We're speaking with other radio slallons al)out booking space on the
multiplex. We plan that il will be up and w0￿1ng by September2026.

At 30 April 2025 the Company had free resepies of £27,394. These reserves are held to fund the
