We have a Child Protection policy in place together with a Safeguarding Policy. DBS checks are carried out every three years.

FCSA is associated with Dorset FA and the teams using the site play in the Dorset Football League and the Wessex Churches league. Close working with Dorset FA is vital as they arrange the fixtures for the whole of that league. They advise us on a weekly basis which teams are allocated to our pitches.

Fernheath Play is a neighbouring association working with children, with and without special needs. They offer play work and child care. We work with this group by putting on activities when requested.

AFC Bournemouth provide coaches for activities on the site and the youth teams especially enjoy meeting anyone who has access to our Local Premiership League team!

The land is owned by Bournemouth Borough Council and is leased to us at a peppercorn rent. In return we maintain the site. We have a close working relationship with the Parks department at strategic and operational levels.

All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration except for eligible reimbursement of expenses. The only exception to this is that one trustee is paid on a weekly basis to clean the changing rooms.

We also reduce anti-social behaviour in an charity set out in its area that has been well known for its problems, by engaging with young governing document people in sport. We keep in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. Our facilities are open to the public, with the aim of improving health, welfare and conditions life. Our activities mainly revolve around us providing and maintaining facilities for football and where possible, other sports to the public. We openly recruit from the public our players, trustees and committee members, including local residents and dog walkers. We develop new activities with the public, extending beyond our current reach. We encourage socialising to avoid loneliness and exclusion and build a sense of belonging to a community.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main We have continued this year to maintain the pitches to as high a standard achievements of the charity as we are able. This involved re-seeding worn areas and re laying the during the year pitches ready for friendly games which started at the beginning of August. We now have two Churches league teams playing on Saturday mornings together with a girls team from Poole and Sunday mornings are for 3 adult teams in the morning and a variety of youth teams some of who spill into Sunday afternoons. These matches are, of course our main source of income. This year we have hosted 3 youth teams from Rossmore.

Our Café in the new pavilion is thriving and some local people drop by for a coffee and snack when the football is on. This building has been welcomed by the local community and is very well used at the weekends when games are being played

We have been plagued this year by groups riding quad bikes, scooters and the like have being ridden across the field doing considerable damage. It means that the damage has to be repaired costing money for soil and grass seed. This seems to be a common fight at all football pitches and despite being reported to the police, they have been unable to stop it.

We also had a problem at the beginning of this season because the wron soil was put down. This all had to be removed and corrected before the pitches could be used.
