We have a Child Protection policy in place together with a Safeguarding Policy. DBS checks are carried out every three years. FCSA is associated with Bournemouth FA and the teams using the site play in the Bournemouth Hayward League and the SWAE Churches league. Close working with Bournemouth FA is vital as they arrange the fixtures for the whole of that league. They advise us on a fortnightly basis which teams are allocated to our pitches.

Fernheath Play is a neighbouring association working with children, with and without special needs. They offer playwork and child care. We work with this group by putting on activities when requested.

AFC Bournemouth provide coaches for activities on the site and the youth teams especially enjoy meeting anyone who has access to our Local Championship League team!

The land is owned by Bournemouth Borough Council and is leased to us on a peppercorn rent. In return we maintain the site. We have a close working relationship with the Parks department at strategic and operational levels.

All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration except for eligible reimbursement of expenses.

We provide a facility for Bournemouth residents to enjoy sport and leisure on Fernheath Playing Field. It is our aim to increase the fitness level of all our members and that of **Summary of the objects of the** other groups in the area. We also reduce anti-social behaviour in an **charity set out in its** area that has been well known for its problems, by engaging with young **governing document** people in sport. We keep in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. Our facilities are open to the public, with the aim of improving health, welfare and conditions life. Our activities mainly revolve around us providing and maintaining facilities for football and where possible, other sports to the public. We openly recruit from the public our players, trustees and committee members, including local residents and dog walkers. We develop new activities with the public, extending beyond our current reach. We encourage socialising to avoid loneliness and exclusion and build a sense of belonging to a community. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

## Section D Achievements and erformance p

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

We have continued this year to maintain the pitches to as high a standard as we are able. This involved re-seeding worn areas and re laying the pitches ready for friendly games which started at the beginning of August. We now have three Churches league teams playing on Saturday mornings and Sunday mornings are for 2 adult teams in the morning and a variety of youth teams some of who spill into Sunday afternoons. These matches are, of course our main source of income. Regrettably Covid struck and all games ceased from October through till the beginning of April, seriously affecting income

General cleaning and where necessary painting inside the pavilion took place during the summer break.

When we were able to open, the café continued to thrive, serving hot and cold drinks, chocolate bars and bacon rolls. All profits from this will be put towards the new pavilion.

Our focus this year has continued to be the new pavilion. We were very pleased to be granted the majority of the funding for this from the Premier League & FA Facility Fund so together with our other funders this means that we now have enough money to build. There were lots of legal aspects to be considered which has delayed the start. Because the planning permission was three years old we had to reapply and pay for it to be granted again. The start of the build is now due to be after the season finishes.
