Summary of the Objectives of the charity set out in its governing document:

MEON VALLEY COMMUNITY BUS AS@:CIATION

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects:

The charity operated a Community Bus under a Sectivn 22 Permit to provide:

The trustees and all of the bus drivers are unpaid volunteers. The Association was founded in 1985.

Section D: Achievements and Performance.

With training and subsequent MiDAS qualified drivers we have been able to provide a regular 3 day per week service. With reduced numbers of drivers due to age and other commitments, we were still able to operate without cancelling any journeys. New volunteers are actively sought to maintain our excellent service record.

The bus is available for the local volunteer Soberton and Newtown Ukraine Group assisting Ukrainian refugees providing an opportunity to go on shopping trips and to meet as a group. We are delighted to help in this way.

The purpose of MVCBA is to provide a safe, dependable, and friendly service. This service is delivered by our 18 volunteer drivers, who turn out in all weathers. It is their commitment that keeps this essential and much valued service going throughout the Meon Valley. MVCBA continues to receive praise for the service we provide, particularly from customers on journeys and at the APM.

Section E: Financial review.

The Trustees decided there are sufficient reserve funds. However, future vehicle replacement from the proceeds of its operations will be dependent on the

availability of grants from either local or central government and/or an increase in passengers and private hire.

The bus continues to deliver against our requirements but is now showing its age; if we are going to continue with the services we offer, we need to investigate the options for replacing/renewing the bus. There is no guarantee that grants will be available in future. Against this background, the Trustees aim to ensure that the charity has the resources to continue operations ror as long as possible without external support. Reserve funds are placed on deposit, currently with Shawfield Bank. This policy will be reviewed regu zrly and adjusted if necessary.

The charity’s financial situation is secure thanks largely to Local authority support, particularly a weekl: trip to Petersfield replacing a commercial operator withdrawing the serese, and private hire. The reserve policy is therefore unchanged.

As shown in the annuataccounts, cash funds as of 315* May 2024stood at £58,762.

?

Section F: Other optional information.

Deliberately left blank?

Section G: Declaration.

-\ The Trustees declare tht they have approved the Trustees’ report above. Signed by two Trustees on behalf of all the Charity’s Trustees:
