## A Message from the Trustees
We are so grateful for your continued support. Thanks to you, in **2024–2025** we raised an incredible **£ £37,370** , allowing us to continue bringing joy, comfort, and care to children and families facing real challenges. Your generosity makes our work possible and enables us to create lasting memories for children who might not otherwise have them.This report gives an overview of what we achieved this year and how your support has made a difference.
## How We Raise Funds
## Community and Event Fundraising
## Children’s Swimathon
Over **50** children took part in a relay-style swimathon at **St Stephen’s Primary School** , raising **£1,600** . The kids showed amazing teamwork and energy, and it was a fantastic way to bring the local community together.
## Teddy Bear Picnic
Held at the Orpheus Centre, the picnic raised **£200** , and the young organisers partnered with Aldi to collect over **60** teddies, which were given to children arriving at safe houses and refuges.
## London ASICS 10K
**29** runners braved the streets of London and raised **£2,300** for the charity.
## Charity Golf Day
Thanks to James and Tanaz Chadwick, a charity golf day raised a whopping **£2,000** .
## Cake Sales
**Alpha Swim Save** Swimming School held two cake sales, giving families a treat after swimming while raising funds for the charity.

We also continued as a Co-op Local Charity, raising **£2,908.85,** and were thrilled to be nominated for the Winner Shared It All Scheme, which added £5,000 to our funds.
## Other Fundraising Highlights
## Lodge Family Panto
The Lodge family created and performed a pantomime, donating **£620** in proceeds.
## SayWhatUC Collaboration
The jewellery brand designed a special Sunshine Necklace, with profits supporting our work.
## Teddy Bear Appeal
Our Teddy Bear Appeal continues to comfort children arriving at safe houses and refuges, many of whom were fleeing domestic violence or modern slavery with little more than the clothes they are wearing. This year we distributed over **150** new teddies, helping children feel safe and valued.
Following Faye’s WI talk, a volunteer in her 80s began knitting teddies for the appeal - a wonderful example of community support.
## Birthday Scheme
We supplied birthday gifts to children in the **UK, South Africa,** and **India** , ensuring they could celebrate their special day. Gifts provide dignity, joy, and the chance to feel remembered.

## Mother’s Day Bags
With the help of **Duke of Edinburgh** volunteer Ayla, we packed **54** Mother’s Day bags for mums living in emergency accommodation. Each bag was filled with thoughtful items and love, giving women a chance to feel recognised and appreciated.
## Days Out and Enrichment Activities
**This year we funded lots of fun days out for children facing tough circumstances:**
- Santa visits for **29** children living in safe houses London Zoo visits for **32** children
- Cinema and soft play vouchers for **dozens** of children fleeing domestic violence
The experiences allowed children to enjoy positive moments and create happy memories. We also funded toys for play therapy.

## Sibling Support Activities
We continued supporting siblings of children receiving hospice care at **Naomi House Hospice** . Highlights included an activity weekend with zip wiring, raft building, and pizza making, plus a Christmas party and bowling trips, all of which gave children fun and normal experiences they might otherwise miss.
## Colourscape Therapy
For over **10 years** , we have funded Colourscape therapy for children living with brain injuries. The sessions use light and music in order to promote wellbeing and sensory engagement.
## International Work **India:**
We continued funding **Sunshine Home** , supporting women living with HIV. We provided shelter, medication, and food, sent **59** chickens, ensured **209** children at the orphanage received birthday gifts, and funded their Christmas party.
## **South Africa:**
We continued supporting children at **The Winnie Mabaso Foundation** and Meriting Preschool, providing birthday gifts, Christmas pyjamas, and shopping trips to pick clothes and toys. Faye also took the children for lunch and soft play during her visit.
## Christmas Appeal
Our Christmas Appeal sent 1,918 gifts to children who needed a smile – from children in hospitals, refuges, and end-of-life care, to young carers and children in Ghana.
## Finances
The charity remains in a healthy financial position. Funds are held prudently to ensure continuity of services and the ability to respond to urgent needs. Reserves are reviewed regularly by Trustees.
## Looking Ahead
We plan to continue supporting vulnerable children and families, developing partnerships, and building sustainable fundraising initiatives to meet growing demand.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 03 / 2025** .
**Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
