Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 August 2023

The trustees present their annual report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2023. The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities' effective 1 January 2015.

Structure, Governance and Management

Governing Document

God's Vineyard Ministries was originally a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission and governed by a Trust Deed dated 5th August 2001 and supplementary deed dated 14th May 2003 until 12th November, 2018 when it fully changed status to Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

Recruitment and appointment of new trustees

Generally trustees are appointed by Board of Trustees. Trustees are appointed by invitation as at when required and depending on their expertise and requirements of the charity.

Induction and training of new trustees

We arrange appropriate training both internally and through other voluntary training providers. The trustees and all involved in running the charity, including volunteers are always encouraged to acquire the necessary skills required for the achievement of the charity objectives.

Additionally, new trustees are invited and encouraged to attend series of short training sessions to familiarise themselves with the charity and the context within which it operates.

Organisational structure

The trustees who served during the period and up to the date of the report are set out above. The day to day responsibility for the running of the charity lies with the Senior Pastor. The Senior Pastor is accountable to the Board of Trustees who are ultimately responsible for all strategic decisions of the charity.

The trustees meet regularly and are responsible for the strategic direction and policy of the charity. All trustees including the senior pastor give their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity. There are full time employees who are engaged in the administrative running of the Church office. The charity is also assisted by members who render voluntary services.

Risk Management

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to operations and finances of the charity, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks.

Objectives and Principal Activities

Our objectives and principal activity is to promote the advancement of the christian faith, the relief of poverty to general public and promotion and fulfilment of various charitable causes within the local community and such other parts of the United Kingdom and the world as the trustees think fit.

The Charity pursues these objectives by operating at the headquarter church in Nottingham and across our satellite churches.

Ensuring Our Work Delivers Our Aims

We review our aims, objectives and activities each year. This review looks at what we achieved and the outcomes of our work in the previous 12 months. The review looks at the success of each key activity and the benefits theyhave brought to those groups of people we are set up to help. The review also helps us ensure our aim, objectives and activities remained focused on our stated purposes. We have referred to the guidiance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aim and objectives and in planning our future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set.

The Focus of Our Work

Our main objectives for the year continued to be the advancement of the Christian religion and the relieve of poverty and sickness. The policy of God's Vineyard Ministries is to pursue objectives in the following ways:

  1. Provision of Weekly Churcces on Thursday and Sundays and to minister to physical, spiritual and material needs of the congregants.

  2. Provision of services to individuals, families and community at large. The service includes a wide range of spiritual and social care.

  3. Focusing on the material needs of certain members undergoing difficult financial situations.

  4. Working with other Christian agencies and Churches in Nottingham, London, Derby, Manchester, Birmingham and Loughborough to advance the preaching of the Gospel.

  5. Radical Youth outreaches in over 25 Universities in the United Kingdom at: Aston University(Birmingham) Bristol University, Derby University,Leicester University,Loughborough University,Manchester Univeristy, University of East Anglia,-Norwich Nottingham Trent Univeristy, Nottingham University(Headquater), Bradford University, Coventry University, Sheffield University etc.

  6. Offering our services to anyone in need of spiritual help through free Christain counselling, prayers and deliverance solely on the basis of our ability to provide appropriate help and regardless of race, colour nationality, religion, gender, age, legal status and personal history.

Development and Achievements in the Year

The charity's events were properly managed, executed and reviewed for its impact on members. Our charity continues to grow in Sunday morning attendance, youth and children's ministry. We minister to the physical, mental and spiritual needs of our members and new comers in our midst. We have helped relief poverty and hardship amongst both regular and irregular congregants who are suffering from financial hardship due to unemployment and lack of financial resources.

The charity conducted crusades in the community to propagate the Christian tenets to non Christians. The charity has not undertaken any large capital projects although it continues to search for appropriate site to increase its charitable activities.

Financial Review

The charity was able to raise a total income of £606,256 during the year under review.

Principal Funding Sources

The principal funding sources for the charity are currently by way of donations and gifts from congregants through the offering basket passed during church services and though bank standing orders. We have exercised our right to reclaim the tax on the donations and gifts received from the congregants and this has proved a steady and growing source of additional income.

Investment Policy

The Charity retains a significant amount in the savings account. The objective of the investment policy is to invest in cash at banks where the capital is protected. The charity currently has a policy of keeping any surplus liquid funds in cash at banks where immediate access and security of funds is guaranteed.

Page 3

God's Vineyard Ministries Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 August 2023

Reserves Policy

It is the policy of the charity to maintain unrestricted funds which are the free reserves of the charity at a level which equates to at least 3 months of unrestricted expenditure. This provides sufficient funds to cover management and administration and support costs and to respond to emergencies which may arise from time to time.

The expenditure for 2023 is £604,747 and therefore the targeted reserves should be between £151,186.75 and £302,374 in general funds. The reserves are needed to meet the working capital requirements of the charity and the trustees are confident that at this level they would be able to continue the current activities of the charity in the event of a significant drop in funding. The reserve policy was not met during this year.

Plans for Future Periods

In the near future, the charity plans to expand its operations and will continue our drive towards providing more benefits to our community The Charity plans continuing the activities outlined above in forthcoming years subject to satisfactory funding arrangements such as Work Based Academy comprising - Youth Employment,Sector based Academy, Adult Education and Training for not in Education or Employment for not in Education or Employment/Vocational Training.

Trustees ' Responsibilities

Charity Law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity as at the balance sheet date and of its incoming resources and applications of resources, including income and expenditure, for the financial year. In preparing those financial statements the trustees should follow best practice and the followings:

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently

Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent

Prepare the financial statements on going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and to enable them to ensure that the financial statement comply with the Charities Act 1993. They are also responsible for the safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Statement of Disclosure of Information to the Accountants

In accordance with charity law, as trustees, we certify that:

So far as we are aware, there is no relevant information of which the charity's accountants are unaware; and as the trustees of the charity we have taken all steps that we ought to have taken in order to make ourselves aware of any relevant information and to establish that the Charity's accountants are aware of that information'.

This report has been prepared,

By order of trustees:

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of the God's Vineyard Ministries for the year ended 31 ###

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2023, which are set out on pages 7 to 13.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (The 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibilty to:

examine the accounts (under section 145(1) of the Charity Act 2011;

follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145 (5)[b] of the Charity Act 2011; and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention

Basis of Independent examiners statement

My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning such matters.

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and fair" view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below:

Independent examiners statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act 2011; and

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act and with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities, have not been met; or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

1. Accounting Policies

The principal accounting policies are summarised below. The accounting policies have been applied consistently throughout the year and in the preceding year.

(a) Basis of Accounting

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, as modified by the inclusion of fixed assets investments at market value, and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities effective 1 January 2015.

(b) Fund Accounting

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furthermore of the general objectives of the charity. Unrestricted funds include a revaluation reserve representing the restatement of investment assets at market values.

Designated funds are unrestricted funds earmarked by the Trustees for particular purposes.

Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.

(c ) Incoming Resources

All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. The following specific policies are applied to particular categories of income:

Voluntary income is received by way of grants, donations and gifts and is included in full in the Statement of Financial Activities when receivable. Grants, where entitlement is not conditional on the delivery of a specific performance by the charity , are recognised when the charity becomes unconditionally entitled to the grant.

Donated services and facilities are included at the value to the charity where this can be quantified. The value of services provided by volunteers has not been included in these accounts.

Invested income is included when receivable.

Incoming resources from charitable trading activity are accounted for when earned.

Incoming resources from grants, where related to performance and specific deliverables, are accounted for as the charity earns the right to consideration by its performance.

(d) Resources expended

Expenditure is recognised on an accrual basis as a liability is incurred. Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates:

Costs of generating funds comprise the costs associated with attracting voluntary income and the costs of trading for fundraising purposes.

Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.

Governance costs include those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and statutory requirements of the charity and include the accountancy fees and costs linked to the strategic management of the charity.

All costs are allocated between the expenditure categories of the SoFA (Statement of Financial Activities) on a of the resource. Costs relating to a particular activity are allocated directly, others are apportioned on an basis designed to reflect the use appropriate basis e.g. floor areas, per capita or estmated usage as set out in Note 4.

Page 9

e. Fixed Assets

Fixed assets (excluding investments and Land and Building) are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. The costs of minor additions or those costing below £1,000 are not capitalised. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write of the cost of each asset over its expected useful life, which in all cases is estimated at 4 years.

Vine Heritage Christmas and Carol Party

==> picture [348 x 178] intentionally omitted <==

With strong awareness of Isaiah 9:6, the church's youngest members experienced an afternoon of festive joy and Christcentred celebration to the glory of God.

The spirit of joy and celebration overflowed within the walls of God's Vineyard Church during the Vine Heritage Children's Ministry's Christmas Party on December 9th, 2023.

An external entertainer, echoing the creative gifts bestowed upon us by our Creator, hosted engaging games that had the children bubbling with excitement. Laughter and cheer filled the air, reflecting the joy that comes from the presence of God (Psalm 16:11). Amidst the fellowship, a shared meal created not just a sense of togetherness but also gratitude for the abundance God provides. The highlight was the exchange of gifts, a reminder of the ultimate gift of Jesus Christ, bringing smiles to the faces of the children.

It wasn't just the children who were entertained in the festivities —parents and the department teachers joined in the merriment, creating beautiful memories that will be cherished for years to come.

The Christmas Party is a testament to the vibrant and inclusive community fostered by the Vine Heritage Children Ministry, glorifying God through the simple acts of joy, generosity, and togetherness.

On the enchanting evening of December 17th, 2023, the Vine Heritage Children Ministry continued to glorify God at God's Vineyard Church Nottingham's Carol Night. The young talents, aged 3 to 11, showcased their love for God through soul-stirring performances, using their God-given gifts to offer praise.

With hearts full of devotion, the children sang an inspiring repertoire of songs. "Born to Bring Us Joy" echoed the biblical truth that the birth of Christ brings everlasting joy (Luke 2:10-11). Other songs included “LOVE” - celebrating the unconditional love of God (1 John 4:16) and "I Will Trust in You" reflecting our devoted trust in God’s Sovereignty (Proverbs 3:5-6). The uplifting song "Praise" followed the biblical command to praise God in all circumstances (Psalm 150:6).

==> picture [568 x 204] intentionally omitted <==

Their angelic voices and heartfelt

performances resonated through the sanctuary, creating an atmosphere of reverence and joy. The Children's participation in the Carol Night glorified God, showcasing not only their musical prowess but also the nurturing of a deep connection with sound doctrine from a young age. The event was a harmonious blend of youthful exuberance and profound worship, leaving the congregation moved and inspired by the faith of the Vine Heritage children.

ANNIVERSARY AND INTERNATIONAL DAY

In May, the church celebrated its annual anniversary with the theme ‘Ebenezer, T hus Far The Lord Has Helped Us’ [1Sam 7:12]. During the anniversary, we reflected on the journey of the church so far, the battles and challenges we had gone through, the lives that have been impacted by the church, and how the Lord has proved Himself faithful through these journeys.

The senior pastor, Dr Ezekiel Alawale shared his own testimony of God’s faithfulness and admonished the church to continue to place our faith in the Lord for the next phase of the vision the Lord has given us to fulfil in Loughborough. As part of the celebrations, we had a colourful International Sunday, where our different cultures were showcased to demonstrate our unity in diversity.

During the May anniversary, and in December 2023, several members of our Youth and Teenage groups made public declarations of their faith in Christ through water baptisms. What a joy to behold such beautiful and life changing moments.

“Do not fear, O land, rejoice and be glad, For Yahweh has done great things.”- Joel 2:21

As the new year 2024 dawns, we look back as a Church and people with great joy and profound gratitude to God for His awesome visitation and amazing works amongst us in the year 2023. As the scripture above says, we equally look forward with excitement and anticipation of the great things the LORD has in store for God’s Vineyard Church (GVC) Derby and her people in the year 2024.

For the first time in the 17 years of existence of GVC Derby, through the great help of the LORD, the Youth Church evening service was held all through the year 2023, except during the easter, summer and Christmas breaks. The weekly Youth Church services which commenced in November 2022, held special events and sessions during the year 2023. Including special worship events called ‘Spontaneous Worship’ with 57 people in attendance in a single session, and a special relationship seminar called ‘Jollof and Gist’ with 59 people in attendance. During the course of the year, a total number of about 68 youths visited the evening youth services as first timers.

Amongst many other wonderful and glorious events, activities and evangelistic outreaches held in the Church during the course of the year, a family and community event in the park called ‘Family Funday’ took place in the late summer month of August.

GVC DERBY: THE JOURNEY SO FARJANUARY 2024

By Akinola P. Akinyede (Pastor, GVC Derby)

The event was a great opportunity for fellowship and evangelism, as Church members invited friends, colleagues, family members and community folks to join in the games, enjoy some food and fun in the park.

Glory Conference 2023, the 17th year anniversary celebration of GVC Derby with the theme “Greater Glory”, inspired from Haggai 2:9, was held on Friday 27th and Sunday 29th October.

The conference commenced with a musical concert on Friday 27th with a celebration of praise, worship, and thanksgiving to the LORD, through songs, spoken words, and special ministrations.

Glory Conference was wrapped up with the Anniversary Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 29th. In attendance to worship and celebrate with GVC Derby, was the founding and senior pastor of God’s Vineyard Ministries, Dr Ezekiel Alawale as the guest minister. The Senior Pastor ministered on the theme of the conference in a sermon titled: Greater Glory. In his sermon, Dr Alawale gave some salient points such as ‘Glory attracts both help and opposition’ and ‘Glory has weight’. He emphasised the need to engage the Word of God in order to experience greater glory. He also declared that ‘The era of greater glory is here’ for the Church and its members.

After the sermon, the Senior Pastor prayed for the Church leaders, together with the Youth Church and Radical Youth leaders in attendance. Then the cutting of the nicely decorated anniversary cake and a special session of thanksgiving to God for His goodness and marvellous works. The service was drawn to a close with benediction and prayer for the whole congregation by the Senior Pastor. About 122 people attended the Anniversary Weekend celebrations.

As we thank God for the year 2023, on behalf of GVC Derby, I echo the words of the psalmist: “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.”- Psalm 115:1

GVC BIRMINGHAM CHURCH 2023- YEAR IN REVIEW By Owolabi (‘Labi) Mebude (Pastor, GVC Birmingham)

We really thank God for 2023 here at GVC Birmingham. God was faithful to us. From the 30 days of fasting and prayer in January, to our anniversary in April, church Movie nights, various outreaches, and Christmas Carol Service in December.

==> picture [142 x 110] intentionally omitted <==

The highlight for us at GVC Birmingham was our anniversary in April. The Theme was Possession. It was a glorious service with the presence of our Senior Pastor Dr. Ezekiel Alawale. Our father in Lord brought us a word that was transformation and explained to us our possession and how to possess them. At the end of his message, he led us into a time of prayers and prayed for the leadership of the church as well as members of the church. It was a service we couldn’t forget in a hurry with countless testimonies from members and leaders rolling in after.

==> picture [142 x 143] intentionally omitted <==

Furthermore, GVC Birmingham hosted its first night of glory since covid as well as 2 church movie nights. The night of glory was powerful and everyone who attended were blessed. The church movie night was an evangelistic event and was also a night of relaxing and chilling. It was good seeing everyone having fun together. 2023 ended with an outreach to Birmingham City Mission. We donated various household item and Minister Tosin and the family delivered it on behalf of the church. One notable change in 2023 was Pastor ‘Labi Mebude, who was the Pastor of the Church since April 2015 was transferred by the leading of the Holy Spirit to Pastor GVC London. Minister Bisi Adeyiga is now the Pastor of GVC Birmingham and also God is moving through him. We are honestly looking forward to 2024.

If you know anyone looking for church in Birmingham, kindly send them our way.

Its significant impact continues to be seen in the lives of the current students and graduates as they continue to reminiscence in what God did in and still doing through their lives. We are also delighted that we now have members who are no longer undergraduates having transitioned to postgraduate or working life while staying back in Leicester.

GOD'S VINEYARD CHURCH, LEICESTER

As a church we recognise that the days of the academic sojourn of the students are numbered and as such we swing into action as soon as the session starts. Apart from our Sunday services, we organise weekly discipleship meetings on the back of our evangelism and follow up efforts, bible study, prayers, and counselling meetings. We tailor every of these sessions to mentoring them to live a victorious Christian life amidst all the vices and distraction on campus and the community.

“…advancing from glory to glory.”

A s a church, we continue to celebrate the love of God over us as we testify that the Lord has perfected our year. The church is marching on, and the gates of hell cannot prevail over it! We look back on all that He has enabled us to accomplish individually and collectively, and we ascribe all glory and honour to Him.

The church continues to grow through the years and has stabilised its presence within the student communities of Leicester and De Montfort Universities and within the larger city of Leicester. The hunger for more of God has been unprecedented and the atmosphere of every of our services continue to herald the manifestation of the move of God. To the glory of God, the ministry has added immense value to the lives of its members over the years.

We joined in the ministries fasting and prayer sessions at the beginning of the year. It was a wonderful month for us to connect with God and commit the year unto the God.

We have enjoyed the mercies of God all through the year with a lot of testimonies in the lives of the members. The members did attest to the favour of God upon their academics and families.

In April, we had the worship night organised by the Radical Youths. Annually this event has become one that everyone looks forward to. There is always a lot of energy, publicity and prayers that goes into the programme.

Yearly, the programme has produced an atmosphere of lasting fulfilment and has become a point of testimony in the lives of the students.

During the last summer, we celebrated with a total of thirteen graduates and their families as they completed their courses and moved onto a new phase of their lives.

The church was ably represented by the pastor and other members. We wish them the absolute best of God for the future. In October, we welcomed the new students who recently just got admitted to the university. We first had our meet and greet meeting which provided a huge opportunity to meet and invite them to church.

To maintain the momentum to the start of the academic session, we held our worship experience 1.0 themed “Haven – come to a place of rest.” This programme attracted a lot of the students and non-students, and it was an atmosphere of deep worship and divine encounter with God. Many of them has since settled in the church.

The last major programme of the year was our Christmas carol service. It was a graceful and wonderful time in His presence as we reminded ourselves the real reason for the season even amidst all the delightfulness of fun and feasting. We glorify God that our members have gone on to stand as a beacon of light in the work and marketplace and their exploits for Him continues to delight and encourage us.

Some have even gone into ministry of the service of God and their contentment to His call continues to be a testimony. We look forward to a new year 2024 with renewed resolve to be a beacon of light and a source of inspiration to as many that we come across. We would continue to undertake His purpose for our lives as we eagerly look forward to His will being accomplished in the lives of our people. We will surely continue to rise from one level of glory to another in HIM.

GOD’S VINEYARD CHRISTIAN CENTRE, LAGOS

Glory and blessings be unto our Lord Jesus Christ who was, is and is to come, Amen. Truly the Word of God is fulfilled in and through us when He (Jesus) said, “I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail”.

Since my resumption as the Head Pastor of Lagos Church in August 2023, I have seen the gradual and consistent move of God in the life of the members and the growth of the church in the following areas discussed in the paragraphs below.

Most often when batons are changed, especially of church leadership, if care is not taken, it affects the sheep as some people come to church because of the pastor. But the case of GVC, Lagos was by the help of the Holy Spirit. Although we have many youths and when admission comes, they must return to their places of study amidst some other situations.

The month of October was when we as a church closed the church for about 30-45 minutes on a Sunday morning to walk round our church community in search of souls who are wandering around on such a worship day. We divided ourselves into groups of threes and fours. Not long after this event, we had four (4) people joined us from within the premises, most of whom are workers in the hotel facility we use. In November, we had the privilege to host our Radical Youth which was superb. We had almost 40-45 youths in attendance, part of which were ministers. It was a spiritual event worth remembering and having again.

Also, God has over the time added to our numbers per program. The set-man of this ministry, God’s Servant Pastor (Dr.) Ezekiel and Funmi Alawale visited us in December 2023. We had numbers we have never had before through invite. It was an encounter that led to the ordination of Minister Esther Ajani of the GVC Lagos church, and about five (5) people who visited rededicated their hearts to God, while some others were by divine leading prayed for.

We thank God almighty for the relaunching of GVC London on Sunday 29th of October 2023. The thought of starting the church again started in June 12024 and God made it possible before the year in the space of 4 months.

You are welcome to join us every Sunday at 6pm and experience and atmosphere of Worship and God’s undiluted presence. If you know anyone in London looking for a church, kindly send them our way.

We thank God for all the supports, prayer and everyone who came to celebrate with us. There were some difficulties but God helped us all the way. Over 30 people came to the first meeting and many joined the church from the first day and we have seen gradual growth and commitment from everyone.

WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE CONFERENCE 2023

==> picture [98 x 97] intentionally omitted <==

THEME: WHOLENESS

Our annual Women of Excellence conference began on the 13th of October and ended on the 15th of October, the theme being ‘Wholeness’.

PASTOR FUNMI ALAWALE

Pastor Funmi Alawale opened the weekend by challenging us with a particularly important question - What is wrong with you? In her message she warned that if we do not acknowledge our brokenness, we will not be able to experience wholeness.

to stop covering up our brokenness and instead, allow the Holy Spirit to have access to our lives and heal us.

The breakfast meeting the following morning had over two hundred people in attendance.

Once we acknowledge this, and surrender ourselves to God, we can be whole. However, if we leave our brokenness untouched and unaddressed, it can steal our destiny, peace, and joy.

Lydia Bird, a licensed nutritionist, spoke to us about wholesome nutrition. Her talk generated an informative Q&A session with tailored advice and much need myth-busting. Many of us immediately began putting into practice some of the tips she shared about balance and wholesome nutrition.

Our second speaker on the first evening was Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo. She encouraged and reminded us that our brokenness does not have to make us victims. Once again, we were empowered

Later that evening Pastor Yemisi spoke on the topic - ‘Will thou be made whole?’ She taught from the book of John chapter 5, about the man at the pool of Bethesda and how we were made whole. We were later blessed with a powerful presentation by the Women of Excellence in our Derby branch on the woman with the issue of blood. This was followed by teachings from Pastor Funmi about ‘Wholeness in marriage.’ Pastor Atinuke Adesanya rounded up the service with message titled ‘In spite of pain, God has a plan.’ She emphasised that no matter what we are going through in life, it is merely a phase. As we go through trials, God is with us every step of the way and He continually makes us complete in Him.

The last day of the conference saw the pre-teens and teenage choir blessing us with a special number. During the first service, Pastor Funmi preached on ‘Steps towards Wholeness,’ concluding by saying that our wholeness can only be complete in Christ. During the second service, Pastor Atinuke spoke on our various roles and the different caps we wear as women. She charged us to exhibit God’s excellence in all these roles and the strategies we use in order to fulfil them.

The Youth Church holds worship services at 5pm and 7pm every Sunday at the headquarters, GVC Nottingham during Term Time. Young people and students from all over Nottingham congregate on Sunday evenings to worship together.

Currently there is an ongoing system to integrate the Radical Youth members into aspects of the GVM ministry via the Foundation School. The aim is to provide, as the name suggests, a sturdy base or solid foundation upon which their Christianity is established, so they can grow into strong and matured believers in Christ.

The Radical Youth (RY) is a spiritual movement rapidly growing and currently based in over eighteen universities all over the UK, where university students worship God together at respective times during the week. The head of the Radical Youth and the youth ministry is Pastor Labi Mebude.

On November 18th - 20th, 2023 the Radical Youth Annual Let your Life Count Conference was held with the theme ‘Growing In Grace’. . We had a variety of ministration & messages ranging from our very-own ministers and radical youth alumni. A variety of topics covering “The Importance of Relationships and forgiveness” ministered by Pastor Funmi Alawale, teaching us on what it takes to build a healthy relationship across the board in all our relationships, friendships, romantic and family relationships, healing broken relationship, healing from traumatic adverse past and becoming the light God intended for us to be in the world.

In addition, we had a concert on Saturday with incredible performances by Still Shadey, Day Three Music, Twin Sax, & our forever amazing radical youth Mass choir. Each performed marvellously throughout the concert. Senior Pastor Ezekiel ministered on the theme “Growing in Grace”. The senior Pastor Ezekiel taught us that to grow in grace we must grow in our faith, which comes through our continuous habitual fellowship with GOD, progressively consecration in the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ. Along with well-nourishing messages, other Radical Youth regions such as Preston, Lancaster, Nottingham, and Trent ministered through drama, dance, poet & rap performance. Each was presented with excellence. It was indeed a time of uplifting & blessed time again in the presence of God and fellow brethren.

This was Radical Youth’s 20th conference and we had in attendance over 186 students from across the universities in the united kingdom . We give God all the glory as we have been blessed to hold this conference for the past twenty plus years. Looking forward to the RY Let Your Life Count Conference 2024.

All Glory to The Most High God.

Come to Macedonia and help us – The Birth of the Church

During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. Acts 16:9-10 (NIV).

Apostle Paul received the call to come to Macedonia, so the call came from a group of Nigerian students in Moldova for a Christian fellowship, and we answered. In the chilling January winter air of 2023, a spiritual revolution unfolded at the American University of Moldova (AUM) in the heart of Chisinău. Comprising mostly Nigerian international students, another body of Christ was born in Chisinău, Moldova.

One of the evangelistic events that took place in the year was the Love Feast held on Sunday 22nd October 2023. This was an opportunity for the Church to gather in the outdoors to feast and be merry whilst also sharing the word of God. In a world often marred by discord, and the church have had its fair share through the year, this dynamic initiative invites us to envision a future where unity isn't just a dream, but a vibrant reality—a reality painted with the brushstrokes of faith, diversity, and the boundless energy of the Spirit of the living God.

The Church was inaugurated by our senior Pastor, Dr Ezekiel Alawale, on Sunday 29 January 2023, with over 40 people in attendance. This culminated in the appointment of Pastor Femi Odubore as the shepherd over the Church, and since commencing the work, the Church has had the privilege of enjoying the ministrations of several Pastors and Ministers from God’s Vineyard Ministries, each having to make the journey to Moldova.

Under Pastor Femi’s leadership, the first Worker’s Retreat was convened between 26th to 28th June 2023, with Dr Joseph Nipah delivering key teachings and insight from the word of God on the theme “Sharpening God’s Battle Axes” (Jeremiah 51:20, Ecclesiastes 10:10). Although knowledge of the local language is a challenge, the church continued to strive to keep the flame burning with the hope of extending the fellowship to other communities and the locals alike.

We give all thanks and glory to God almighty who is the sponsor of this great project, and ample appreciation to the staff and leadership of the American University of Moldova for allowing themselves to be used by God in this magnitude. Special gratitude to our senior Pastor, Dr. Ezekiel Alawale for his visionary leadership and also to the members of staff at the Church office, for their untiring support. We are looking forward with hope, and trust for greater things that God will do among His people and in the land. Praise God! Amen!!
