God's Vineyard Ministries Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 August 2022

The trustees present their annual report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2022. The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities' effective 1 January 2015.

Structure, Governance and Management

Governing Document

God's Vineyard Ministries was originally a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission and governed by a Trust Deed dated 5th August 2001 and supplementary deed dated 14th May 2003 until 12th November, 2018 when it fully changed status to Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

Recruitment and appointment of new trustees

Generally trustees are appointed by Board of Trustees. Trustees are appointed by invitation as at when required and depending on their expertise and requirements of the charity.

Induction and training of new trustees

We arrange appropriate training both internally and through other voluntary training providers. The trustees and all involved in running the charity, including volunteers are always encouraged to acquire the necessary skills required for the achievement of the charity objectives.

Additionally, new trustees are invited and encouraged to attend series of short training sessions to familiarise themselves with the charity and the context within which it operates.

Organisational structure

The trustees who served during the period and up to the date of the report are set out above. The day to day responsibility for the running of the charity lies with the Senior Pastor. The Senior Pastor is accountable to the Board of Trustees who are ultimately responsible for all strategic decisions of the charity.

The trustees meet regularly and are responsible for the strategic direction and policy of the charity. All trustees including the senior pastor give their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity. There are full time employees who are engaged in the administrative running of the Church office. The charity is also assisted by members who render voluntary services.

Risk Management

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to operations and finances of the charity, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks.

Objectives and Principal Activities

Our objectives and principal activity is to promote the advancement of the christian faith, the relief of poverty to general public and promotion and fulfilment of various charitable causes within the local community and such other parts of the United Kingdom and the world as the trustees think fit.

The Charity pursues these objectives by operating at the headquarter church in Nottingham and across our satellite churches.

Ensuring Our Work Delivers Our Aims

We review our aims, objectives and activities each year. This review looks at what we achieved and the outcomes of our work in the previous 12 months. The review looks at the success of each key activity and the benefits theyhave brought to those groups of people we are set up to help. The review also helps us ensure our aim, objectives and activities remained focused on our stated purposes. We have referred to the guidiance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aim and objectives and in planning our future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set.

The Focus of Our Work

Our main objectives for the year continued to be the advancement of the Christian religion and the relieve of poverty and sickness. The policy of God's Vineyard Ministries is to pursue objectives in the following ways:

  1. Provision of Weekly Churcces on Thursday and Sundays and to minister to physical, spiritual and material needs of the congregants.

  2. Provision of services to individuals, families and community at large. The service includes a wide range of spiritual and social care.

  3. Focusing on the material needs of certain members undergoing difficult financial situations.

  4. Working with other Christian agencies and Churches in Nottingham, London, Derby, Manchester, Birmingham and Loughborough to advance the preaching of the Gospel.

  5. Radical Youth outreaches in over 25 Universities in the United Kingdom at: Aston University(Birmingham) Bristol University, Derby University,Leicester University,Loughborough University,Manchester Univeristy, University of East Anglia,-Norwich Nottingham Trent Univeristy, Nottingham University(Headquater), Bradford University, Coventry University, Sheffield University etc.

  6. Offering our services to anyone in need of spiritual help through free Christain counselling, prayers and deliverance solely on the basis of our ability to provide appropriate help and regardless of race, colour nationality, religion, gender, age, legal status and personal history.

Development and Achievements in the Year

The charity's events were properly managed, executed and reviewed for its impact on members. Our charity continues to grow in Sunday morning attendance, youth and children's ministry. We minister to the physical, mental and spiritual needs of our members and new comers in our midst. We have helped relief poverty and hardship amongst both regular and irregular congregants who are suffering from financial hardship due to unemployment and lack of financial resources.

The charity conducted crusades in the community to propagate the Christian tenets to non Christians. The charity has not undertaken any large capital projects although it continues to search for appropriate site to increase its charitable activities.

Financial Review

The charity was able to raise a total income of £562,030 during the year under review. This is a remarkable increase considering the fact that the Job Retention Scheme grant received was only £4,500 as against the £73,568 in 2021.

Principal Funding Sources

The principal funding sources for the charity are currently by way of donations and gifts from congregants through the offering basket passed during church services and though bank standing orders. We have exercised our right to reclaim the tax on the donations and gifts received from the congregants and this has proved a steady and growing source of additional income.

Investment Policy

The Charity retains a significant amount in the savings account. The objective of the investment policy is to invest in cash at banks where the capital is protected. The charity currently has a policy of keeping any surplus liquid funds in cash at banks where immediate access and security of funds is guaranteed.

Page 3

God's Vineyard Ministries Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 August 2022

Reserves Policy

It is the policy of the charity to maintain unrestricted funds which are the free reserves of the charity at a level which equates to at least 3 months of unrestricted expenditure. This provides sufficient funds to cover management and administration and support costs and to respond to emergencies which may arise from time to time.

The expenditure for 2022 is £525,387 and therefore the targeted reserves should be between £131,347 and £262,694.50 in general funds. The reserves are needed to meet the working capital requirements of the charity and the trustees are confident that at this level they would be able to continue the current activities of the charity in the event of a significant drop in funding. The reserve policy was met during this year.

Plans for Future Periods

In the near future, the charity plans to expand its operations and will continue our drive towards providing more benefits to our community The Charity plans continuing the activities outlined above in forthcoming years subject to satisfactory funding arrangements such as Work Based Academy comprising - Youth Employment,Sector based Academy, Adult Education and Training for not in Education or Employment for not in Education or Employment/Vocational Training.

Trustees ' Responsibilities

Charity Law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity as at the balance sheet date and of its incoming resources and applications of resources, including income and expenditure, for the financial year. In preparing those financial statements the trustees should follow best practice and the followings:

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently

Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent

Prepare the financial statements on going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and to enable them to ensure that the financial statement comply with the Charities Act 1993. They are also responsible for the safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Statement of Disclosure of Information to the Accountants

In accordance with charity law, as trustees, we certify that:

So far as we are aware, there is no relevant information of which the charity's accountants are unaware; and as the trustees of the charity we have taken all steps that we ought to have taken in order to make ourselves aware of any relevant information and to establish that the Charity's accountants are aware of that information'.

This report has been prepared,

By order of trustees:

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2022, which are set out on pages 7 to 13.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (The 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibilty to:

examine the accounts (under section 145(1) of the Charity Act 2011;

follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145 (5)[b] of the Charity Act 2011; and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention

Basis of Independent examiners statement

My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning such matters.

The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and fair" view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below:

Independent examiners statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act 2011; and

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act and with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities, have not been met; or

1. Accounting Policies

The principal accounting policies are summarised below. The accounting policies have been applied consistently throughout the year and in the preceding year.

(a) Basis of Accounting

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, as modified by the inclusion of fixed assets investments at market value, and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities effective 1 January 2015.

(b) Fund Accounting

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furthermore of the general objectives of the charity. Unrestricted funds include a revaluation reserve representing the restatement of investment assets at market values.

Designated funds are unrestricted funds earmarked by the Trustees for particular purposes.

Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.

(c ) Incoming Resources

All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. The following specific policies are applied to particular categories of income:

Voluntary income is received by way of grants, donations and gifts and is included in full in the Statement of Financial Activities when receivable. Grants, where entitlement is not conditional on the delivery of a specific performance by the charity , are recognised when the charity becomes unconditionally entitled to the grant.

Donated services and facilities are included at the value to the charity where this can be quantified. The value of services provided by volunteers has not been included in these accounts.

Invested income is included when receivable.

Incoming resources from charitable trading activity are accounted for when earned.

Incoming resources from grants, where related to performance and specific deliverables, are accounted for as the charity earns the right to consideration by its performance.

(d) Resources expended

Expenditure is recognised on an accrual basis as a liability is incurred. Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates:

Costs of generating funds comprise the costs associated with attracting voluntary income and the costs of trading for fundraising purposes.

Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.

Governance costs include those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and statutory requirements of the charity and include the accountancy fees and costs linked to the strategic management of the charity.

All costs are allocated between the expenditure categories of the SoFA (Statement of Financial Activities) on a of the resource. Costs relating to a particular activity are allocated directly, others are apportioned on an basis designed to reflect the use appropriate basis e.g. floor areas, per capita or estmated usage as set out in Note 4.

Page 9

e. Fixed Assets

Fixed assets (excluding investments and Land and Building) are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. The costs of minor additions or those costing below £1,000 are not capitalised. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write of the cost of each asset over its expected useful life, which in all cases is estimated at 4 years.

WELCOME TO GOD’S VINEYARD MINISTRIES

Here is a brief summary of who we are, what we are called to do, how we do it and how you can fit into this family. Our desire is to see you becoming a part of us and to find a place where you can serve God and fulfill your God ordained purpose on the earth.

WHO WE ARE

We are not just a conventional church. We are more than a church; we are a family. God’s Vineyard Ministries is a God given vision, where God is the Gardener, Jesus is the Vine and we are the Branches. Through this relationship, we spread the gospel to the world and bear fruits that abide to serve as the Vineyard of God on earth (John 15).

OUR VISION

‘‘To raise a people with a Kingdom mindset, to discover their purpose, maximise their potentials and influence their generation with the Gospel of Christ.'’

OUR MISSION

‘’Empowering lives and Building society’’

OUR CORE BELIEFS

We believe that the Bible is the word of God: its doctrine is our doctrine.

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the whole world, and rose up the third day for our justification. We believe in Christ’s second coming, the day of judgment and salvation of the faithful. We believe salvation is obtained through faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is by grace. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

OUR JOURNEY

God’s Vineyard Ministries (GVM) was founded in Nottingham, United Kingdom in 2001 by Dr. Ezekiel Olusegun and Dr. (Mrs.) Funmi Alawale, under God’s leading and instruction. During this period, the Lord led Dr. Ezekiel to Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, to submit under his spiritual leadership and mentorship.

We believe in the great commission: To go into the entire world and preach the gospel to all the people. We believe in the efficacy of prayers in communicating with God through Jesus Christ. We believe in life after death. We believe in investing in the development of the younger generation

Under Dr. Ezekiel & Dr. (Mrs.) Funmi Alawale’s oversight as Senior Pastors of GVM, the Ministry now has 6 Churches in the United Kingdom.

OUR IDENTITY

God’s Vineyard Ministries is a praying church, and we are committed to raising a praying generation of young and old believers, who will put God’s Kingdom first. (Matt 6:33). We are also committed to raising a generation of people who will be heavenly conscious and earthly relevant.

Our identity is about seeking to help people discover their purpose and fulfill their destiny in God.

How we seek to achieve this: By reaching UP, By reaching IN and By reaching OUT.

Pastor (Dr) Ezekiel Alawale

“But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”(Obadiah 1:17 KJV).

his is the message the Lord gave to me for God’s Vineyard Ministries this year; our prophetic word for the year 2023. It is a clear indication of what God intends to do in our families, in our individual lives, and in our churches

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” - (Numbers 23:19 NLT).

In 1 Kings 18:1, 41 KJV, God sent Elijah to Ahab: “And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.”

“And Elijah said unto Ahab, get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.” The Rain came abundantly just as the Lord had spoken through His prophet Elijah. In the same measure,

T H E V I N E | 6

1. THERE SHALL BE DELIVERANCE

This shall be our Testimony - “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: Then said they

2. THERE SHALL BE HOLINESS.

“If you love the Lord faithfully, he will forgive your sins. If you respect and obey him, you will not do evil.”(Proverbs 16:6 EASY)

Living a life of holiness will qualify us for God’s use, guarantee His presence as we go on our life’s journey, grant us access to His divine guidance, and fullness of joy in His presence.

The consciousness of the Lord’s presence among us should cause us to live in reverential fear of God and depart from iniquity. Because Jesus died and gave His life for us, He owns us, and we owe Him our lives. We must therefore make it our commitment to live consecrated lives to God. This is what God requires from each of us.

Galatians 2:20 EASY says - “Christ died on the cross for me. It is like I died there with him. So, I do not live my own life anymore. Instead, Christ lives in me. The life that I live now in my body, I live because I trust what he has done for me. He has loved me so much that he died on my behalf.”

3. WE SHALL POSSESS OUR POSSESSIONS.

Our possessions in Christ include God Himself, the original destiny God has for us, our unclaimed or overdue blessings, God’s promises, lost glory,

answered prayers, the heathen to be converted to God, our joy and peace, reaching the uttermost part of the world for the kingdom, and much more.

What should we then do to possess our possessions?

We must see God not only as our first choice, but our only choice to possess what He has promised us. When God becomes our possession, we become inheritors of all that God has.

HOW DO YOU MAKE GOD YOUR PORTION OR YOUR POSSESSION?

(A) It is a matter of the Heart - David became a man after God’s heart, shared God’s heart, and had a passionate heart for God. -

“And the LORD said unto Samuel, how long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.

But the LORD said unto Samuel, look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”(1 Samuel 16:1, 3, 7 KJV).

David was not seeking to be a king, he was not chasing anointing, he was not craving for earthly possessions; he wanted God. God is interested in our heart; He wants our heart to long after Him.

And when He finds a heart that is loyal to Him, He shows Himself strong on their behalf (2Chro 16:9)

(B) Be ready to die for God - Whatever is not worth dying for is not worth living for. - “Then Paul answered, what mean ye to weep and to break mine heart?

T H E V I N E | 7

for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”- (Acts 21:13 KJV). Just like Just like Apostle Paul, anyone that has chosen the Lord as his possession must be willing to go all the way with God, even to the point of death.

(C) Choose God above all

else -

You must deliberately and intentionally choose Him, not as a last resort, not only in difficulty or lack.

God must be the only love of your life and it should be evident that you are in love with God.

You must say, like David in Psalm 16: 5-6 CEV - “You, Lord, are all I want! You are my choice, and you keep me safe. You make my life pleasant, and my future is bright.” Psalm 91:14-16 KJV says - “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

When life presents you with different options, always choose the Lord.

There cannot be complete obedience if there is no absolute submission.

As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”- Genesis 17:1-2, 4-8 KJV.

(G) Make God your pleasure and your delight - “O God, thou art My God; early will I seek thee: My soul thirsts for thee, my flesh longs for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, So as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness Is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus, will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

(D) Understand that God owns you –

You should live in the consciousness that you don’t own yourself, your life is a gift from God. Remember the rich fool!!

You must stop the “I”, “Me” and “Myself” attitude. “Know ye that the LORD he is God: It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”

- Psalm 100:3 KJV

(E) Live with the Revelation that God is sufficient for you

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul follows hard after thee: Thy right hand upholds me.” - Psalm 63:1-8.

It is wisdom to make God the soul follows hard after thee: prime pursuit of your heart. A Thy right hand upholds me.” story is told of a rich man - Psalm 63:1-8. who died and asked his son to pick only one item out of Like the psalmist, you must all his properties, after which (F ) Submit to God absolutely find pleasure in the person of his head slave would take the and Obey Him completely - God. rest of the properties. Adam, Eve, and King Saul all disobeyed God, they were not (H) Commit yourself entirely in total submission to His to Him and His service - will, no wonder they lost so Your time, talents, and much. Isaiah 1:19 KJV says - “ If treasure, and indeed all that ye be willing and obedient, ye you have, must be given to shall eat the good of the God if you must possess your land ”. The good of the land is possession. available to only those who obey. “Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from Picking the slave would mean owning the slave and all that twenty years old and upward, shall see the land the slave possessed. If you which I swore unto Abraham, choose Jesus, then you have picked all that Jesus unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not possesses. wholly followed me: save “And when Abram was ninety Caleb the son of Jephunneh years old and nine, the LORD the Kenezite, and Joshua the appeared to Abram, and said son of Nun: for they have unto him, I am the Almighty wholly followed the LORD.”“Trust in the LORD with all Numbers 32:11-12 KJV.

(H) Commit yourself entirely to Him and His service - Your time, talents, and treasure, and indeed all that you have, must be given to God if you must possess your possession.

“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be “Trust in the LORD with all thou perfect. And I will make thine heart; And lean not my covenant between me unto thine own and thee, and will multiply understanding. In all thy thee exceedingly. As for me, ways acknowledge him, and behold, my covenant is he shall direct thy path. Be not wise in thine own eyes: “And when Abram was ninety Fear the LORD, and depart years old and nine, the LORD from evil.”- Proverbs 3:5-7 KJV.

“And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

The thoughts of God should fill your heart with joy. This is irrespective of what He has or has not done.

“And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” - 2 Corinthians 10:6 KJV.

Conclusion

For you to possess your possession, you must seek God’s kingdom first. Make this your number one priority “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

- Matthew 6:33 KJV

Also, you must pray like Elijah prayed; earnestly and fervently. “So, Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, and said to his servant, go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, there is nothing.

And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there was a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, go up, say unto Ahab, prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stops thee not. And it came to pass in the meanwhile, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.”

Pastor (Dr) Ezekiel Alawale

-1 Kings 18:42-45 KJV.

We must learn to pray our word of prophecy into reality. We must align with God and pray according to His will to possess our possessions.

Lastly

You must be expectant. “For surely there is an end; And thine expectation shall not be cut off.”Proverbs 23:18 KJV. While waiting, we must not be passive, but active; we must take actions by faith. We must believe God for all our Possessions. “The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!” - 1 Thessalonians 5:24 MSG. AMEN.

In the same way that we cannot discuss certain sports without mentioning the legends of those games, we should aim to do exploits that are legendary for the Kingdom of Christ, to leave a lasting legacy to God s glory - Phillipians 3:12-14.

hese are the principles that will help us to get into the category of people who do great exploits for God. Have a Vision for Life - T[[Without ]]

Have a Vision for Life - Proverbs 29:18 -[[Without ]]

a vision, the people perish.

When God wants to do something amazing with someone, one of the first things He gives that person is a vision of that thing. God paints a picture of the exploit in the heart of the person that He wants to use for that purpose (see Genesis 15:4). The vision God gives you will keep you going during tough times. We must have a vision for our lives, but we must also have a vision for heaven.

Have a Disciplined Life - 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

There are certain things that we must not do and places we must not go to, because they do not help us to run the race of our lives. These things or places might not be bad, but if they do not help you to run the race, it’s best to abstain from them. There is a prize that we pay to do Kingdom exploits - see 1 Corinthians 9:27.

Have a Training Plan -

Have a Coach -

Surrender and yield to The Holy Spirit who is our coach in life. The Holy Spirit should be your best friend.

PRINCIPLES FOR DOING GREAT EXPLOITS IN THE KINGDOM

Life is a Team Sport - Proverbs 11:14 Think about who is on your corner in the fight for life. Who are your counsellors? Who do you listen to? Who are you submitted to? Be yielded to wise counsel – see 1 Corinthians 15:33.

Be Ready for Some Setbacks - 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Everyone in the Bible who performed great exploits experienced pain and setbacks. But we press on despite the setbacks.

Run with Passion -

Ask God to lead you to something that you have passion for. And when you have a passion for something, ask God if it’s part of your calling.

Pastor Agu Irukwu RCCG Jesus House London

Have F.O.C.U.S. ("Follow One Course Until Successful") - Hebrews 12:1-2.

It is not to the strong; it is to the supported. Ps 119:164 ‘Seven times a day I will praise you.’ Gratitude is a weapon. Gratitude makes you unstoppable - don't toy with praise and worship.

What's your goal? Have you dealt with procrastination? To do great exploits you must stay the course and not get distracted.

Understand Spiritual Hierarchy - 1 Samuel 24:7

Now let’s Look at the exemplary character of those who do great exploits. Looking at David – a man who did many Kingdom Exploits, these are the key things that made him so powerful:

Honour those who God has given spiritual authority over you, including your biological parents. Don't use your platform to dishonour those who gave you the privilege.

Family Life -

Honour your spouse and children. Your family is your first Jerusalem. Your children are your first congregation.

Be Careful of Expired Mentors - Be careful of competitive mentors. Be careful of parasitic proteges.

A Pure Heart -

God measures the heart. God will test you before trusting you. The tests or exams of life won't give you notice. Go about life having a consciousness of passing God's tests - even in the most mundane things. Avoid pride.

Excerpts from Kingdom Life Conference 2022, Theme: Kingdom Exploits

Gratefulness or Gratitude -

Be grateful in everything and in every way. Remember the race is not to the swift; it is to be helped.

“But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:14-17 NKJV

Parenting is a great responsibility :

Babies come into the world with no instructions, and you pretty much have to make them up on your own. Parenting is complex; techniques that succeed with one child may fail with another. There is nothing simple about human beings of any age; we are very complex. Being a good parent and raising godly children is hard, especially in our world today. It becomes easier if we as parents walk in obedience to God, submit to the Holy Spirit, and be Christlike.

The movie 'Princess Diary' is a wonderful example that shows how a daughter can be trained and transformed into a princess - royalty. Everything ranging from: How to talk, how to carry themselves with respect, How to walk, how to comport yourself, etc. We must start raising our children right from the early stages of life. They need to be cultured, learn proper etiquette, how to comport themselves, how to dress decently and in order. It’s not about your individuality, it’s about the kingdom that you represent. Princes and Princesses don’t just go anywhere. The association you keep is very important.

For us as parents this is our important and sacred duty in life. The spiritual wellbeing of our children should take priority over their material needs, their secular education and their preparation for worldly success. Our duty is to educate both ourselves and our children in godliness. Mothers, are you training your children? ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it’ Proverbs 22:6.

T H E V I N E | 1 2

T H E V I N E | 1 3

Bringing up children is a purposeful and intentional job. It doesn’t happen just because you send them to Sunday school. Jill Savage, in the book ‘Professionalizing Motherhood’, challenges mothers to take the job of raising children as seriously as any work-for-pay job.

As mothers, we have the power to make an astounding impact on our children for the kingdom of God. God has endowed us with the power of influence, and if rightly or positively used, we will begin to see a turn around in our world.

OUR FATHER IS THE KING OF KINGS, IF YOUR FATHER IS A KING THAT MAKES YOU A PRINCE OR A PRINCESS. WE ARE ROYALTY

We are Royalty -

We have been made priests and kings unto God. The problem is that not everyone recognizes that they are royalty. They’ve forgotten that they are children of God and have a royal heritage. They wander through life in rags rather than being sure of their identity in Christ. We can come alongside the people who do not realize they are children of God, and remind them who they are. And it is critical that we teach our children from an early age who they are in Christ. We must raise them to be children of the King!

To raise good children for the Palace

“Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren, especially concerning the day you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, ‘Gather the people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’” Deuteronomy 4:9-10 NKJV .

Teach them about the lessons you've learnt in life; real life stories about God's faithfulness and His mercy to you. Children who are rightly taught the word of God will teach their own children.

The movie 'Princess Diary' is a wonderful example that shows how a daughter can be trained and transformed into a princess - royalty. Everything ranging from: How to talk, how to carry themselves with respect, How to walk, how to comport yourself, etc.

How do we teach our children?

1. Be honest and patient with them:

It's possible to overdo things. You cannot force Christianity down their throats; that could push them to rebellion

Family altar is very important. Give them an opportunity to be able to come to you and ask questions, don't just shout at them; open the scriptures to them and answer their questions.

Do your best to attend church services with them every Sunday morning. If you cut corners with your children, they will cut corners with theirs. If you compromise, they will compromise more. Be a good example to them, they are watching.

2. Love your spouse

We do our kids a favour, when we love our spouse. Psychologists tell us it is much more important for a child to know their parents love each other; it makes the child feel the love of their parents in themselves. Kids know instinctively when there’s breakdown of love in marriage that there isn’t much love left over for them

[Eph 5:28] Husbands love your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church. Love her enough to be able to die for her. Treat your wife like a queen and your husband as a king. Keep courting her, go out on dates, find time for her, take a break, go out together, talk and listen to each other; it will help you to stay in love with each other. If she likes shopping, go with her once in a while. Even if you cannot afford much, just go round doing some window shopping.

3. Never discipline out of anger

3 John 4 " I have no greater joy than to hear my children walk in truth. " The opposite is also true - it's heartache when they don't walk in truth Prov 22:6,

Eph 6:1-3 - Train them to be obedient - The importance of obeying mum and dad when they learn to obey their parents, they will learn to obey God.”

Correct in love. Incredible Hulk said you won't like me when I am angry. If it's true for a cartoon character, how much more for a real life dad?

Put into consideration the stages of growth when applying discipline. Between the ages of 3 and 8 years, they ask a lot of questions. Don't be too busy to answer them; don't ask them to go away. You should be able to separate normal childish behaviour from disobedience.

Dr James Dobson in ‘Dare to Discipline’, talks of three strikes: On the first and second occasions you give warnings and grace. If there’s a third time of the same disobedience then use corporal punishment or spanking which is also supported by the Bible; obviously not with a belt or cane,

but with e.g. with your hand so they can learn the right lesson from the experience. After spanking a child, call the child and explain why you spanked them, so they can fully understand why it was done. If you ever need to spank a child, do it in an age-appropriate way. Spanking or yelling at a child in anger will only do more damage to you and the child.

Practice more positive reinforcement as they get older. Withdrawal of privileges is also a good tool in teenage years. As they get older, introduce them gradually into taking up responsibilities like household chores.

4. Do not compare one with another:

No two children are the same in personality, so don't compare your kids with each other; deal with each child as they are made by God.

5. Help them discern God's will:

Teach them the way God wants them to go [Prov 22:6], taking into account the child's gifts, emotional makeup, personality, intellect, calling, etc. Help them to discern the path God has for them.

T H E V I N E | 1 4

6. Prayer

We cannot over emphasise this. The prayer of parents establishes the foundations of the home. Your example of Godly living and genuine transformation is key to making your children want to follow or seek your God.

7. Teach your children about money:

This is one of the major elements in daily living. Teach them how to handle money.

Proverbs 3:9 “Honour the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.” [ NLT]. It’s important we teach this early in their lives. E.g. teach them the principle of tithing. It is important in learning how to handle finances responsibly. Let God be first in our budgets.

Jesus points us to the truth in Matthew 6:2527, 31-33 that if God comes first in the stewardship of our material resources, all other bits and pieces will find their proper place.

To teach it, we must show it, set good examples and allow them to listen to us talk honestly with others. It’s important above all to provide a good learning environment for our children to learn properly

[2 Tim 1:5] The lessons taught Timothy were not from a textbook or theory, but from the overflow of their rich lives. They lived life with Timothy; their own deep relationship with Jesus Christ. Timothy saw their excellent character and understood their instructions as living principles.

Our homes are the most important schools our children will ever attend, and we are the most important teachers our children will ever have.

Let’s give our children wisdom for living.

FAITH FOR EXPLOITS:

WHAT DO YOU KNOW?

Joshua 2: 1-19

[Emphasis on verses 9-11 NLT]: ““I know the Lord has given you this land,” she told them. “We are all afraid of you. Everyone in the land is living in terror. For we have heard how the Lord made a dry path for you through the Red Sea when you left Egypt. And we know what you did to Sihon and Og, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan River, whose people you completely destroyed. No wonder our hearts have melted in fear! No one has the courage to fight after hearing such things. For the Lord your God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.” Joshua 2:9-11 NLT.

Introduction

We cannot do exploits if we don’t have faith and we cannot have faith if we do not have experiential knowledge of Him in whom we believe. What we know and how deep is what we know, is important.

Rahab was one of the people mentioned in Hebrews 11 as the generals of faith who did exploits. All these people were able to do exploits with their faith because of their experiential knowledge of God.

….but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32 KJV.

“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days [by Joshua and the sons of Israel].

By faith Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed along with those who were disobedient, because she had welcomed the spies [sent by the sons of Israel] in peace.” Hebrews 11:30-31 AMP.

What is faith?:

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 NKJV.

“NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” Hebrews 11:1 AMPC.

Faith is the currency in our relationship with God. Faith is the currency of transactions with God in heaven

Faith means trusting God with assured hope and having evidence for it through His word and personal experience and revelation, without seeing it with the physical eyes.

T H E V I N E | 1 6

We can not please God without faith. Hebrews 11:6 It's in the spirit.

For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation. (Romans 10 :10 AMP) .

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 KJV.

Faith is also based on the knowledge of God. Faith may not be concordant with the facts of life or what we are experiencing in life!

There are so many facts in our lives: challenges of finances, health, relationships, experience, pain, suffering, loneliness, disappointment, reports, academic qualifications, scarcity, job opportunities or lack of it, etc.

Facts are the reality of life and experiences. A fact is what we see, touch, know, feel, hear, or have or don't have. Everybody has experiences of the facts of life, Christian or not.

Faith is also a reality just as facts of life are.

The works of faith makes our faith overwhelm the facts of life and makes our faith more real, overpowering the facts. Faith makes what we think inside overwhelm the realities of our physical situation and facts of our lives. This makes us act differently and take RISKS!

What are exploits?

Notable deeds or feats, heroic and noble; accomplishing extraordinarily.

God does exploits through His people to fulfil His purpose through us. Philippians 2:13 ‘For it is God which worketh in you both to will and do of his good pleasure.’

Bold or daring feat

A feat: an achievement that requires great courage, skill, or strength; mighty deeds, bold acts, great achievement, accomplishment, attainment, triumph, etc

Acts of courage

The ability to control fear and to be willing to deal with something that is dangerous, difficult, or unpleasant. 2Tim 1:7.

Joshua 1:6-7 Going ahead facing the situation even in the presence of fear; doing it while afraid; confronting the opposition.

Moving the mountain

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:23-24 KJV.

Exploit is doing greater works

Jesus promised us that we shall do greater works than he did: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” John 14:12 NKJV .

“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12 AMP.

What did Rahab know?

“Now before the two men lay down [to sleep], Rahab came up to them on the roof, and she said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the terror and dread of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have melted [in despair] because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan [on the east], to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. When we heard it, our hearts melted [in despair], and a [fighting] spirit no longer remained in any man because of you; for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.” Joshua 2:8-11 AMP.

She became convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the God of Israel, is God in heaven and earth. Even the children of Israel were not as sure as she was. What was it about her faith that made her do exploits that are recorded amongst those that did exploits?

Acts of faith:

T H E V I N E | 1 7

“I know the Lord has given you this land,” she told them. For the Lord your God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below.” Joshua 2: 9-11.

She had heard about the miracle of drying up of the Red Sea and how Pharoah and the Egyptian army (strongest in the world at that time) was completely destroyed.

She had also heard about the destruction of Kings of Sihon and Og [Numbers 21:21-35].

According to the Dakes

commentary: Sihon refused Israel passage, perhaps because he had heard of the resistance of the Edomites and Moabites and how Israel, instead of fighting, took another route. It could be that he expected the same thing to happen again. Simon’s kingdom extended along the mountain range and plateau east of Jordan from the river Jabbok on the north to the river Arnon on the south.

Sihon: Israel smote Sihon and possessed his land from Arnon to Jabbok- the whole of Heshbon and all the cities of the Amorites (verse 24-26).

Og: king of Bashan Numbers 21: 3335. He was a giant and ruled over 60 cities. He had a special bedstead of iron, 18 feet long and 8 feet wide.

Israel destroyed him and all his people and took his land and cities. See record in Psalm 135:11, 136:20.

As a result of this victory, everybody was afraid of Israel e.g. Balak king of the Moabites, who solicited for Balaam to curse Israel in Numbers 22.

Faith can not do exploits without Faith Acts or Works: So do we accomplish faith acts and works?

Our confession creates an energy and force around us: positive or negative.

“We, having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” 2 Corinthians 4:13 KJV.

Be courageous. Don’t be intimidated by the enemy or situations: Let your God intimidate the enemy on your behalf [Joshua 1:6-7)

We say what we believe. What we believe is what God says we are, and not what the world or circumstance say or people say: What we believe is a result of inner conviction that God is in control, no matter what we go through; and that is why we are always thankful.

  1. Taking faith based risks: Rahab took a risk that could have resulted in loss of income and life - Acting in faith’ obedience, Stepping out, not having a plan ‘B’, confronting the enemy and the mountain, etc. [Mark 11: 23-24].

  2. Cast your care on the Lord. Abandon the cares of life in exchange for the care of God.

They did not care for their lives:

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to answer you on this point. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let

  1. Courage- confront your fears and doubts with God's word and your personal experiences. Control fear and do not let fear control you. 2 Tim 1:7.Doubt your doubt, Conquer your fear.

As a church family, we always start the year by waiting on the Lord through Prayer & Fasting in January from the 2nd to the 31st. We believe in starting a fresh season strong with God, making our requests known to Him and believing for a breakthrough in our individual lives.

The 30 days of Prayer & Fasting affords every member and family in the Church an opportunity to spend quality time seeking the Lord through daily Prayer meetings which usually ends with a 2 day prayer conference. The theme for the January 2022 edition was “Divine Presence for Kingdom Exploits‘’. The conference featured guest ministers such as Pastor Stephen Olayinka and Reverend Friday Bekee.

Furthermore, the ministry reignited the fiery altar once more at the halfway mark of 2022 with the ‘21 Days Prayer & Fasting’; also concluded with the June Prayer Conference featuring guest minister Apostle Ademola Olagboye from Reconciliation Bible Church Nigeria. The conference was deeply impactful as well as a blessing with over 200+ people (including young children, students and adults) in attendance. We also had a good online attendance

GOD’S UNUSUAL VESSEL

To be an unusual vessel is to be careful; never take the office for granted; never wish to be another person; shine in your role; and help others burn for the LORD in their uniqueness.

Learn to be committed and consistent and you will see the nations flock towards you as you burn brightly for GOD.

Pastor Olaitan Adesiyan

Consider the family of Moses, GOD touched every member in a different. Both Moses' brother - Aaron and Sister - Miriam were necessary for Moses to function excellently in his assignment. Moses' mother did not just raise Moses, she raised his sister and brother as his supporters as well. Don't just raise a Moses, raise a Miriam as well. It takes grace to be that unusual.

Being an unusual person, you have to be strategic, you have to be wiser than your enemies. Moses’ mother was strategic and courageous by not following the order of pharaoh but rather obeying GOD.

Aaron was anointed to unite the set man and the people. Aaron was anointed to bring the people and the set man together. The ears of Aaron were always on the ground, listening to the people because the setman was always busy. An Aaron is the glue of any organisation; the people will not misunderstand the set-man.

Miriam led and when she spoke, people listened. So, if you are a Miriam, you need to understand your uniqueness. Every one of us wants to be Moses but we need the Miriams and Aarons, for each have their own unusual assignment. You are unusual being an Aaron, you are unusual being a Miriam. Be satisfied with who you are and do your assignment well.

But be warned as an Aaron not push your Moses or the people away. Be careful of the anointing on your head if you are operating in an Aaron’s office. Remember your garment, and your rod. Understand your uniqueness, the grace and the anointing placed upon you.

When you’ve discovered and understood your uniqueness, you must begin the next stage, which is your growth and development. Be consistent and committed to growth. Know what to do per season and per time.

You must take note of people that you surround yourself with, because they will be delighted in seeing and knowing you, and they’ll celebrate your grace. Some of them will be so committed to seeing you run so successfully because that is their unusual assignment.

Moses was unusual but he needed Aaron to perform his own unusual assignment.

When Moses met Jethro, despite not having a father figure, he made use of his relationship with Jethro. As you journey as an unusual vessel, what you don’t have begins to come around you to see how you can learn it from. Every resource that you need, GOD has placed in your way. It is only the treasure that God places in you that keeps and preserves your life.

As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forevermore. Psalm 133 (KJV)

Church members were grouped into two teams, each of which included men, women, teenagers, and children. Team members were actively involved in a variety of events, ranging from race competition between men and women, tug of war, children hula hooping and other athletic games that teenagers participated in. There was more than enough food and drinks for everyone in attendance.

F amily fun day is an outreach initiative of the Men’s ministry, created to reach out to the unsaved in the neighborhood as well as bring church members together (to interact and fellowship) in a relaxed atmosphere. This will promote integration and build a community where everyone is united for a singular purpose.

The children, coordinated by Mrs. Tope and Mr. Tomi were also split into teams and they passionately competed in different games such as tug of war and egg and spoon race. The children also enjoyed themselves on the swings and other outdoor activities at the park. The teenagers equally had a lot of fun. They played basketball, as well as joined in other competitions.

The church gathered at Radford Recreational Ground right behind GVC Nottingham Church for the 2022 family fun day and was real fun in every sense. The opening prayer was said by Pastor Ezekiel Alawale.

COMMUNITY OUTREACHES

As a charity, we are actively involved and engaged with the community. In 2018, under the chairmanship of Dr Ezekiel Alawale, the senior pastor of GVM, the MAJORITY BLACK-LED CHURCHES (MBLC), NOTTINGHAM was rebranded under a new core leadership team. Since then the MBLC has made a significant impact in the Nottinghamshire community.

AIMS:

Among others, the MBLC was set up …

ENGAGEMENT WITH STAKEHOLDERS AND HOW FAR WE HAVE GONE?

Some of the recent MBLC engagements and achievements include

The Police:

Quarterly Co-Production meetings with Nottinghamshire Police, which have resulted in a number of initiatives, including:

The City Council:

Quarterly meetings with the leader of the City Council and his team

The Leadership of the Church of England:

Meetings with the Anglican Bishop of Suthwell – Bishop Paul and his team

Engagements with the University of Nottingham:

T H E V I N E | 4 7

NHS-CT Project:

COVID-19 disproportionately affected the BME communities. This only highlighted the existing socio-economic and health inequalities that exist within the community. The MBLC applied for NHS-CT funding and won a grant to work with the NHS on addressing these issues by recruiting a volunteer coordinator. The coordinator is working with volunteers to find out the reason(s) for vaccine hesitancy, reduce hesitancy and improve the rate of vaccine uptake among the BME community. We hope to use this model to address other health inequality issues.

Collaborations with various charities:

Other areas where the MBLC is actively engaging with stakeholders to make changes include Education:

There is a widening gap between the educational attainments of blacks compared to whites as they progress from age 4-5 to university. We are working with the education department to address these disparities. At the University of Nottingham, we have employed and are currently paying for the 1st Black Chaplain to address role model issues for BME which make up about 34% of its population.

Media:

There is an existing trust gap between the BME and the wider community. It is our desire that the press will collaborate with us in this initiative to build trust, promote equality, fairness, justice, and peace. To stem agitations and carve a new future for our community.

Women of Excellence Conference 2022

We give God praise for the success of the Women of Excellence 2022 conference. It was indeed a great and impactful meeting. The Conference started Friday, 14th October and continued on Saturday with a breakfast meeting, and ended on Sunday, 16th October 2022, after the 4th Service.

We had three guest ministers. Pastor Biola Adeyoola, Pastor Olaitan Adesiyan and Pastor Biola Obode. Issues such as domestic violence, parenting, prayer, and nation building, were among the topics discussed during the conference.

On the first day, Pastor Biola Adeyoola ministered on the topic: THE KINGDOM WOMAN:EMBRACING YOUR UNIQUENESS & FULFILLING YOUR CALLING. She explained how unique we are with what GOD had created within us to glorify Him. She further expanded on that topic in the following four major points.

Lesson 1:

Our uniqueness starts with the truth that we do not all have the same name. God knows your name and He designed everything about you. Nobody can take them, for He made it just for YOU. When God Relates to you, HE calls you by your name. Isaiah 43:1

Lesson 2:

You were created for something, and that makes you unique, your purpose makes you unique. The person that knows you most, that knows you totally, that knows you in and out is GOD ALMIGHTY. HE is the best and only person that would help you know what HE placed in you. HE has a perfect knowledge of you. Psalm 139:13-16 NKJV

There's much more in GOD that we are yet to experience. There is so much more in GOD that He expects from you

Lesson 3:

Your purpose is for more benefit for GOD and mankind. Sometimes we can be heavenly relevant and earthly irrelevant. And sometimes we can be earthly relevant but heavenly irrelevant. GOD desires that we’re both heavenly relevant, as well as earthly relevant. Your purpose is not just for you alone, but for the world at large.

Lesson 4:

Once you’ve embraced your uniqueness and your calling, you must not give it up for anything else. God has intended that we will not just be unique, but also embrace our uniqueness.

Let’s therefore make up our minds to align ourselves with GOD by embracing our uniqueness, and fulfilling our calling. If God wanted us to be the same, He would have created robots, to look and think and act the same. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that's what makes you unique.

It was indeed an impactful weekend. We had time to ask questions at the end of each session and rounded up with a powerful prayer session led by pastor Ezekiel Alawale, for grace to venture out to do and become all that we learnt this whole weekend.

“Psalms 107:21-22 “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank- offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.”

These are just a few… there’re many more God has done in our lives and used to help us to achieve in the lives of our neighbours.. Your testimony is the key to someone else’s prison. May we use not just our words but our lives to give thanks and proclaim to the world the goodness of GOD, as it says in the book of Ephesians “Live as children of light”.

This year we celebrated most of our wonderful members' birthdays by inviting most of us to church together as one, coming together to give GOD the Glory, thanking HIM for keeping them and adding more years to their lives

S unday 22 May 2022 involved the children taking over most of the church second service (12 – 2 pm) at the GVC Nottingham premises. Over the past months and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the children of the GVC Children Ministry have been creating and rehearsing various activities with the sole goal of ministering on Sunday to the glory of God. The activities were based on our theme “Created for Exploits” and included bible recitation, spoken word, poem, choreography, drama, singing and a short sermon, all delivered by the children. All the children participated in at least one of these activities. The program was as follows:

GVC CHILDREN’S CONFERENCE 2022 EVENT

Date(s):21-22 May 2022

Theme: Created for Exploits; Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV) – Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

1.Introduction – 5 min

2. Bible Recitation – 20 min

3. Spoken Word – 7 min 4.Poem – 5 min

On Saturday 21 May 2022, the children department gathered to have a picnic at the Radford Recreation Ground (park behind the church premises) from 2pm to 4 pm. The children teachers arrived before hand to set up and secure the right spot in the park that allowed optimal monitoring of the children during the event. The park had already been surveyed prior to the event. We took register of the children arriving from various GVC branches – we had a total of 59 children and 7 teachers.

The picnic started with an opening prayer by Pastor Pat and safety rules were explained to the children. We then proceed with various fun activities including, warm up, football, waterchallenge, sprints, use of the playground facilities, badminton, and many more. Midway through these, we had a break for food (pizza, chicken, chips, snacks), drinks and icelollies. We concluded the event with a closing prayer, recounted the children to make sure every child was accounted for and waited for their parent to pick them up.

5. Choreography – 7 min

6. Drama – 15 min

7. Songs (Choir) – 10 min

8. Sermon – 10 min

9. Cutting of the cake & Group photography – 15 min

10. Conclusion by Senior Pastor

Following a departmental meeting, the teachers shared that the Sunday ministrations went well and the children were all excellent. There were a number of difficulties we encountered and areas for improvement. Notes were taken and measure will be put in place for future event.

All in all, we give God all the glory. He has indeed been faithful to his word in Isaiah 54:13 – “All your children will be taught by the Lord”. We are also grateful to the church leadership for the opportunity to celebrate the goodness of God in the lives of our children.

We believe the children had a lovely time during the Saturday picnic. Some of the parents were present during the entire event and were very supportive in both caring for the children and participating in the fun activities. Some other attendee of the park, both adult and children, enquired about our gathering and expressed very positive comments – it was a great opportunity to share about our faith and the church.

Currently there is an ongoing system to integrate the Radical Youth members into aspects of the GVM ministry via the Foundation School. The aim is to provide, as the name suggests, a strong base or strong foundation upon which their Christianity is established, so they can grow into strong and matured believers in Christ.

On November 18th - 20th, 2022 the Radical Youth Annual Let your Life Count Conference was held with the theme ‘Redeeming the Time’. We had incredible performances by Ayo Israel, Day Threes Music, Twin Sax, the gospel duo Kim and Brenda & our forever astonishing radical youth Mass choir.

Each performed throughout the concert. In addition to exhilarating concerts, we had a variety of ministration & messages ranging from our very-own ministers and radical youth alumni. topics Ranging from our relationship with God and ourselves, studying techniques and tips to better network, figuring out our career paths.

Along with well-nourishing messages, other Radical Youth regions such as Preston and Lancaster and Nottingham and Trent ministered through drama, dance, poet & rap performance. Each was presented with outstanding and flavorful quality. It was indeed a time of restoration & redemption. This was Radical Youth’s 19th conference. We give God all the glory as we have been blessed to hold this conference for nineteen years. Looking forward to RY2023.

EMBRACE THE SEASON OF YOUR LIFE

LIFE:

Life is defined by time and seasons. Life is a gift from God, and he has given us time to live and define our lives. God has given everybody the same time.

Time is a priceless commodity.

The Greek word translated time: Chronos: A period of duration. Quantitative. Calendar. Described in minutes, hours, weeks ,months, and years, decades, centuries, generations, etc.

Kairos: An appointed time at which an event happens or takes place. The set time. An appointed time. God sets this time. Eccl 3:11.

“You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to be gracious and show favour to her; Yes, the appointed time [the moment designated] has come.”

PSALMS 102:13 AMP.

Life is measured in time and how you use your time determines your success in life!

Everybody has time. Time is the only commodity common to man.

God has given all of us equal time to fulfil our purpose.

Time is divided into seasons by days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries, generations.

Each season of life is made up of time and moments.

'Is a gift from God given to you to fulfil His purpose'Dr

Myles Munroe.

God wants you to live your life and enjoy it! “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

John 10:10 AMPC.

Time is very precious and is one of the most expensive things we have. Money is not the most expensive, because if You lose money, you can get it back.

God wants you to live your life and enjoy it!

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” John 10:10 AMPC.

Time is very precious and is one of the most expensive things we have. Money is not the most expensive, because if You lose money, you can get it back.

When you lose time you don’t get that particular time back but you can have another time in the future but not the one that you lost!

Radical

When you lose time you don’t get that particular time back but you can have another time in the future but not the one that you lost!

God has given us time to fulfil his purpose for our lives.

When you spend your time doing ‘something’ but not the right thing, you have lost valuable time and opportunity that you may not regain. You must do the right thing at the right time in order to fulfil your purpose.

The devil steals, delays, diverts, and kills our time. Sometimes the devil will make you use your time the wrong way by doing the wrong things.

He ensures that you engage in activities, behaviours, habits etc. that wastes and devours your time so you have less time or no time to do the important and purposeful things in life.

This is why we need to redeem time by living carefully and living intentionally and purposefully.

Wikipedia defines time as:

‘Kairos' is an ancient Greek word meaning 'the right, critical, or opportune moment.

In modern terms, kairos also means 'weather' or 'time'.

It is one of two words that the ancient Greeks had for 'time’: the other being chronos. Whereas the latter refers to chronological or sequential time.

kairos signifies a proper or opportune time for action. In this sense, while chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative, permanent nature.

Seasons:

Keep changing, whether four or two seasons depending on the northern or Southern hemisphere.

The end of one season ushers a new season.

S easons are the fact of life . Genesis 8:22““While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, day and night Shall not cease.”” Genesis 8:22 NKJV.

“[The Lord] said, I will surely return to you when the season comes round, and behold, Sarah, your wife will have a son. And Sarah was listening and heard it at the tent door which was behind Him.

“He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding! [Dan. 4:35.]”

Daniel 2:21 AMPC.

“WHY [seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty] does He not set seasons for judgement? Why do those who know Him see not His days [for punishment of the wicked]? [Acts 1:7.]”

Job 24:1 AMPC.

“He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding! [Dan. 4:35.]” Daniel 2:21 AMPC.

“WHY [seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty] does He not set seasons for judgement? Why do those who know Him see not His days [for punishment of the wicked]? [Acts 1:7.]” Job 24:1 AMPC.

God created seasons:

To order our lives. To get his purpose established.

To everything there is a season.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”

Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

“Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 GNB

“While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, and day and night Shall not cease.”

Genesis 8:22 NKJV

“He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.” ECCLESIASTES 3:11 AMP

We need to recognise Kairos potential and Kairos set up when going through the seasons of life.

It is not every event or experience that is Kairos related and that is why we need to be able to recognise and decipher as we embrace our seasons of life. We need revelation and discernment.

The events that lead to ‘a kairos moment can be (are usually set up by God):

T H E V I N E | 6 1

T H E V I N E | 6 2

A challenge, An opportunity, An opposition, A situation, A need, A difficulty, An injustice, A shaking or awakening, A longing, emptiness, A famine.

Life is made up of seasons and each season is different.

God makes us go through different reasons in life in order to achieve our purpose.

Seasons are a preparation for the future. Every season prepares you for the next one.

Seasons are periods of learning, preparation, maturity, and fulfilment of purpose.

Each season is unique and usually ushers you to the next one.

THE DIFFERENT SEASONS WE GO THROUGH GIVES US AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE OF WHO GOD IS.

Types of seasons 1. Wilderness 2. Promise land 3. Singleness 4. Marriage 5. Sowing 6. Harvest

Each season is unique and has unique advantages, opportunities and challenges.

Each season is further subdivided into sub seasons.

The season before your Kairos is: A preparation for your planned and divinely programmed open door.

A test of character, readiness, resilience, faith. Opportunity to use and fine tune your gifts and talents. Building up of your capacity for change and fulfilment

An assessment of your readiness for your breakthrough

An assessment of whether the Kairos is appropriate for the set time. Should it be delayed or executed at the set time.

Saturday was filled...

with excitement and different activities from Water Baptism, Terminator, Assault Course, Prayer Walk, Football Shout, Sumo Wrestling, Dance with Prisca, Inflatable Ball and including different selections of movies.

Personally, I participated in Prisca’s dance class, and I was able to engage in dancing to gospel afro-beats whilst learning a new routine.

Truly, Water Baptism was a beautiful experience seeing my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ following the path of Jesus Christ and many testimonies arose from the baptisms.

Afterwards, lunchtime consisted of 3 course meals, and we were separated into groups to present a presentation and eat within those groups. Afterwards, different events were preached on from Dysfunctional Home (inner Healing) to Living with Freedom. These sessions were truly a blessing as many questions and answers evolved from these topics. A relationship session took place were students and alumni were able to ask questions regarding relationship and modern dating

I can truly testify that Weekend Away 2022 was a blessing as lives were touched and transformed tremendously. If you have not been to Weekend Away yet, I highly recommend as you will not ‘Understand the Experience until you Experience the Experience.’ Come to Weekend AWAY 2023 and your life will never remain the same. God bless you.

In the evening, Holy Spirit Ministration was held, and lives were truly transformed as spiritual gifts were birthed and chains were broken. Many people experienced spiritual encounters and there were numerous testimonies at the end. Afterwards, praise night took place as many individuals rejoiced and thanked God for victory.

Lastly, Sunday was the final day which consisted of Praise and Worship, Unforgiveness (topic), Testimonies, Lunch, Group Presentations, and Departure.
