mutual understanding and respect of the

represented within the beneficiary group by
facilitating informal and formal educational

The charity usually runs events/training at
which mothers and carers of primary school
children from diverse races, religions and

themselves and their backgrounds.
More intimate events e.g. coffee mornings and
tea afternoons are directed at facilitating more
in-depth conversations; cookery events have
encouraged more reticent women to start
talking to each other by joining in and sharing
their knowledge; an event was held at which
local women showcased their handcrafts and
were able to learn about each others’ fashions
and beauty regimes, the emphasis being on
sharing information; an event was also run
about gardening. The charity also worked
alongside the local school’s HSA.
Regular events such as crafting and badminton
have been launched previously.

whole.|Para 1.20|At a meeting on 24 April 2023 the Trustees
decided to wind down the operations of the
charity and spend all remaining funds on a
cause that fell within the objects of the charity.
The trustees agreed that the funds should be
spent on a project that would enable the key
objects of the charity to be carried forward by
Hall Green Infant School and the Quakers, both
of whom had been supportive of the charity
and had worked with it previously on achieving
its aims.
The chair of MAF is remaining as a single
trustee to explore the possibility of keeping
open the charity and passing it on to another
group of trustees, possibly via the Create
Partnership Trust, a multi-academy trust
working with four schools in deprived areas of
Birmingham with pupils from mixed
demographic backgrounds.
The remaining funds have been duly paid out
to the School to help fund a programme of
peer mediation training for pupils, teachers
and parents provided by the Central England
Quaker’s Peacemakers Project.
The Trustees were satisfied that they had
discharged their duties in accordance with
their statutory responsibilities and in
accordance with the charity’s constitution and
governing documents by taking this course of
