increase in the range of activities run to support
families dealing with the challenges of SEND.
A major change affecting us was the engagement
by Clarion Futures of Community People to run
the building and bookings at #38. This meant we
went from being a partner to more of a tenant,
but still enjoyed the full support of Clarion Futures
and looked forward to working with Community
People as they settled into the community.
Back to the SEND projects, this year saw the
inauguration of the SEND Reading Club in
partnership with West Sussex Libraries and later
in the year an Arts, Crafts & Drama Group.
Again, much credit to Ruth de Mierre (Trustee)
for organising, and also to John Sabin & Joyce
Sharma for their attendance and support at many
of these sessions. These were to provide
support to the children, parents and carers who
were heavily affected by SEND.
They were funded by HSF5 monies via West
Sussex County Council and Clarion Futures.
They were immensely popular and made some
remarkably positive changes to some of the
young people and earned the immense gratitude
of parents.
We also held a Silver Sunday event in October
for older residents that featured a talk and slide
show of historic photographs of Bentswood. Also
a Xmas party was held, primarily to celebrate and
thank our volunteers and session leaders.
Our particular thanks go to Clarion Futures and
the session leaders and volunteers that are
supporting the SEND activities.
Finally, a number of changes in our Trustees;
•Our Finance Officer, Zoltan Demjan, moved
away from the area towards the end of the
year and so stood down as a Trustee. He
goes with our gratitude and the trustees will
be seeking a replacement.
•Founding Trustee Nicky Dodds, who has
shown so much support for Bentswood for 15
years or more stood down as her Clarion
responsibilities grew to pretty much the whole
of the South. She will be hugely missed
•Also, we sadly lost long-standing trustee
Bryan Fairhall (dec.) during this year
•But also welcomed new Trustee, former town
mayor – John Sabin.|

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/08/2025.
**Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
